I think, the difference between Bowie's version and Aurora's is that Bowie seems to observe the scenes and don't take the feelings of this young woman really seriously and Aurora takes her side and sang the song with the girls perspective in her mind. But that's only my impression.

Welcome to the Aurora rabbit hole. May your journey be long and beautifully strange. BUT you really need to watch some of her original songs. She does amazing covers, but when she sings her own songs, she lives the music. All of her soul is laid bare when she sings her own songs. She can make you cry, and smile at the same time.

I'm sure the way she pronounces her words is because of her Norwegian accent. I love the way she pronounces her words. I love listening to her speak and sing. She is fabulous. I would suggest doing some of her original work now. She has three Albums and a fourth coming in January. Try "Through the eyes of a child" live at Nidarosdomen

Hello again my friend. This was another beautiful reaction from you to Aurora. I have been a subscriber since your very first reaction to Angelina, and I'm loving all your Angelina and Aurora reactions. They (the reactions) are just great. As it happens, Angelina holds the first spot on my favorite female vocalists list, ahead of Aurora. So you're reacting to both my favorites. Then the question remains - Could I ask for more ??? And the answer to that question is Yes. Yes I can, said the greedy Norwegian :-) You see, the artist holding my third spot on said list is a Faeroese lady by the name Eivør. And based off of how you have reacted to Angelina and Aurora, I'm 100% confident that you will love HER as well. I don't see any way around it to be honest. LOL
So, IF you decide to give her a go, I will give you the link to my favorite live performance by her, called "Falling Free". It is taken from a concert she held at The Old Theater in Tórshavn 4 years ago. (Tórshavn is the capital of the Faeroe Islands by the way.) Her vocals are absolutely off the charts beautiful, as you will not see, but hear😉
As I promised then, here is the link : ua-cam.com/video/KNPIdGBn7M4/v-deo.html I even have some more great suggestions for you to new artists that I'm sure you will like, but I just want to see if you take this bait first, and see what you think about it.
In the meantime, have a great rest of the week my friend, and take care.
Much love coming your way from Norway, as always ♥♥♥

Two very different singers, one for the masses and the other, for those that can appreciate a quirky melodic sound. I do prefer Angelina, however, there are several Aurora songs I thoroughly enjoy, as she reminds me of Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star).

You really have to check out Eivør, the barefoot Viking princess. Her voice is magnificent! She have lots of wonderful songs, across many different genres. "Falling Free" is a good starting point.

I’ve seen Aurora live twice now and I have no doubt that she is the best live performer I’ve ever seen her songwriting ability is outstanding to think a song like lucky was written by her at the age of 9 and that by the age of 17 had enough songs to fill her first album ALL MY DEMONS GREETING ME AS A FRIEND is astonishing.forget your mainstream artists who churn out the same old cliches and lyrics Aurora writes lyrics that makes you think deeply about life and the world we live in she moves emotions that you never thought you had it’s poetry for your soul for me Aurora simply is a Genius.

@@johndennison3140 Right now she is a better live performer. I believe AJ has better vocals. Aurora is a better songwriter as well right now, even though AJ has written a few. Only time will tell how far and better each one gets. I believe Aurora is 10 years older, so she has more life experience.

Reacting to Aurora's cover songs are great . But you really should react to some of her own songs . They are all stunningly good and watching Aurora perform them live is like watching and listening a nordic ice fairy weaving magic spells . Aurora is a force of nature that needs to be experienced live . Check out some of performances of the Noble Peace Prize concert and also the haik concert . You won't be disappointed .

Liked your reaction. And I also can wait when you check more of hers songs or covers. She has so many great music :). As you did not reacted so far for many of her songs I would recommend on of my favorite performances (but dont mind any even a random her song, as she has no bad songs and even hard to choose favorites :) ):
    - Lucky live from Nidarosdomen
    - All is Soft Inside life from KEXP 2018

@@gillian67ec Icelandic is more old Norwegian and not easily to be understood for Norwegians anymore. (Iceland was populated by Norwegians in Viking times.) Swedish, Danish and Norwegian are "closer" and understood by most people, both ways.

If you want to hear a perfect performance, take a listen to "It Happen Quiet". For a transformative cover, check out "God is Woman". My 2 cents...

Bowie’s life on Mars was not one of his best songs but listening to Aurora sing this makes you realise how good the lyrics are the quality of her cover is outstanding
