Wow, takes me back 46 years. Some things have not changed others have for the better. Gone are the long open dormitories housing 30 boys. Gone is the back yard where we played endless games of football. Gone is the boot room where we kept our CCF and rugby boots.Richard Wentches designed the may flower emblem. So nice to see it take pride of place in the house.

      Hello John,
Thank you for your comment. We are currently looking into the origins of our House emblems and do not seem to have a record of Richard Wentches. It would be great to find out anymore information that you may have if you could please email marketing@cheltenhamcollege.org we would love to discuss it with you.

@@CheltenhamCollege1841 No problem. I am not sure I have spelt his name right. I think he was Head of House in 1972/3 and I spent many a happy hour playing rugby with him in the 1972/3 season so he can be identified from the team photo I have at home. I will get that all organised and send it to you. By the way the House master at the time was Peter Gale who commissioned Richard to come up with a design and accepted it.

So sorry, the correct spelling of Richard's surname is Wentges and the flower is a corn flower not a may flower.
