    Congrats Grace.
    It would takes me months to do all that with waiting around on ebay and such. I really missed south east Asia "motorcycle culture".
    I am really interested on What front forks upgrade available in your neck of wood Grace.
    Safe ride.

      Hello my friend, you are so right - this little transformation would have taken a lot more time and money in Australia. Here, I basically just rocked up to Burning Shop in the morning and they had everything in stock, finished by the afternoon. Of course that's the beauty of choosing a bike which is locally available and compatible with part from many previous year models. Getting KTM or Gas Gas parts over here - well, that's just a vale of tears!
      In my opinion, Indonesia still wins on the motorcycle culture front ;) Damn I miss it too. Incidentally, this bike is manufactured in Indonesia.
      Fork upgrades - well, what I want is Technix on the front, because that is some dreamy suspension.However unfortunately those parts come out of Japan and covid has kicked that supply chain in the teeth. The best value for money upgrade around here is probably YSS. Not sure high end but better than stock! I will keep you updated on which direction I decide to take with this is. It's also possible that I may not invest further in this bike, and just keep it on the light side of enduro, because I am hopeful that I will have the gas gas back on the trails for the hard stuff soon.

      @@Yourfriendinendtimes I no longer have the bike but what I did was rip everything off the front of the triple clamps, odometer, light, steel bracket that mounts them. Then I made a custom aluminum mount just for the odometer and got a led headlight that straps onto front forks. Made like a 5 pound difference

      Those parts were sourced from Burning Shop in Chiang Mai web.facebook.com/bnsspeedcm . It's a treasure trove of aftermarket parts but unfortunately their online listings are limited. The brake fluid resevoir bracket is by THEP but as far as I know the headlight assembly is a no-name version of a ktm part

    Grace, may I ask, which Renthal fatbar bend did you get? I have a 2022, but I have the SE model so my stock bars are better/thicker. I want something with more rise though because I'm 6 feet tall. Wondering what bend to get that matches the sweep of the stock bars but rises a bit.

    • @BikeHedonia
      @BikeHedonia  25 днів тому

      I use the Renthal 996. I reckon the 997 is a bit too high a bend for enduro, but it may be alright for a more relaxed style of riding?

    Can you link or list the names of the aftermarket parts, I recently purchased the 22 klx230s version and I’m having a hard time finding aftermarket parts here in Japan, thanks!

    • @BikeHedonia
      @BikeHedonia  2 роки тому +1

      Hi mate, some of these parts are cheap local copies and so don't have a brand name to go on. Are you able to access Lazada from Japan? You will find all these "no name" parts on there.
      Here is a quick list of parts:
      Renthal fat bars
      Acerbis hand guards
      Procircuit full exhaust
      "Thep" rear brake fluid resevoir bracket
      "Yamoto" alloy bash plate
      "Z" levers
      No name:
      headlight (copy of KTM part)
      rear brake light and number plate holder (about 1000baht on Lazada)
      manual idle adjustment screw (about 500 baht on Lazada)

    How are the front forks , looking at specs they have less travel on the road reg version compared to the R version .Btw bike is looking better too with the mods you have done ✅

    • @BikeHedonia
      @BikeHedonia  2 роки тому +1

      Front folks are pretty average, as you'd expect from 1970s technology 🤣 but the low center of gravity and relative lightness of the bike allow you to ride around these limitations a lot of the time. It doesn't take much to bottom them out though.

    did you have to re map the ECU for the new setup?

    • @BikeHedonia
      @BikeHedonia  6 місяців тому +1

      No, if you just mod the exhaust, you don't need to remap. If you put the vortex air intake funnel or start to mess with the camshaft, you'll need to remap.

    I cant find that rear master cylinder guard youre using anywhere? Also what shifter did you go with?

    • @BikeHedonia
      @BikeHedonia  2 роки тому +1

      The aluminium bracket for the rear brake resevoir (necessary since I removed the rear footpegs) is available here in Thailand on Lazada and local mx shops. If you have no luck finding one, send me an email on bikehedonia@gmail.com and I can probably ship you one.
      The shifter is just the OEM folding shifter from the KLX230R. The R version got a folding shifter whereas the dualsport version did not.
