0:35 - 1:05 She wasn’t wrong about going on break in 30 seconds. From the moment she started talking to landing down after the battle, was exactly 30 seconds.
The writers actually did a good job translating how sharks actually behave into Ellen's personality. When they aren't on the hunt, sharks are very aloof and just kind of exist. They also do not sleep for long periods of time, as they'll die if they do. So they translated these qualities to Ellen as being extremely introverted and tired all the time, until it's time to get to work. And then she goes ballistic in battle, like when a shark smells blood.
You can clearly see it's still Goo Team's animation style, but I can't help but feel like they pulled some of the jumpiness and exaggeration from ZZZ's animation. If I am right in my observation, it makes me appreciate this even more

Weiss would be an Ice Anomaly that specialises in applying Anomalies off-field (her chain attack summons a beowolf, her ult summons the Arma Gigas) and debuffing enemies (her skill would increase damage taken by enemies). Ruby would be a Physical Attack that zooms in and out of battle, using something simmilar to Ellen’s Roaming State, while performing certain actions like perfect dodges and assists Ruby would turn into a cloud of petals in which state she is invulnerable for a short (1-2 seconds) duration. Yang would be a Fire Defense character, with Resistance to Interruption on most of her moveset and a powerful self-regenerating shield, Yang wants to take damage and dish it back out, regenerating a small amount of health and granting shielding to the rest of her team. Blake is an Ether Support character, opening enemies up for follow up attacks. She is a melee character, but has Evasion Assist instead of Parry. Her EX skill and Chain Attack also activate Vital View, allowing her and her teammates to squeeze in some serious hurt. Weiss’s ult is a powerful summon and a blast of Ice, but when Yang is on the team, she will jump in for Freezerburn and add a little fire to the mix. Yang’s ultimate is a powerful ground slam after a long windup that deals increased damage and stun the longer Yang is in the fight and the more damage she’s taken. If Blake is in the team, she will join Yang for Bumbleby increasing Yang’s damage and adding some Ether damage on top. This allows Blake to Quick Assist in during the animation. Blake’s ultimate is a series of rapid slashes (like Keqing), and when Ruby is in the team, she joins in on the fun, effectively executing Ladybug. DillonGoo Studios WAS in talks for an acquisition to acquire the IP for themselves, but unfortunately it fell through because "some things didn't align." Regardless, RWBY has a new home with VIZ. Wonder what they'll do with the IP.

Funny coincidence! I have both Lycaon and Ellen in my team! Lycaon is my first standard banner character that I got in first thrity pull (second one being Rion which is hilarious considering i have their Faction now)
This comes out as I’m skimming the trailers and clips and low key Ellen has become my favorite character. I still have no idea what this game is actually about, but the shark girl is undeniably cool. Lol
The style fits so well!! With Genshin the animation style was quite different compared to the game but this, ZZZ’s style fits your animation style do much more
I always love Ellen’s character, someone who’s a extremely deadly maid who fights hollows while also a normal school girl, feel very anime like, the conflicts of both lives, it great character and story I love it

I feel like the folks over at hoyoverse used some of the fight scenes from rwby as a reference when they made ellen's fighting style just the way she tosses her scissors into the next enemy and then grabs it to slice the enemy reminds me a lot of some of rwby's earlier fight scenes with ruby
