Facts. This song always randomly pops into my head
Emotion. Real emotion in a song.... That is what old music is all about, and hearing it in one of my favorite bands always brings a little more joy to my heart than before. This is why people are so much more attached to old songs. This song in particular brings sorrow to my heart, but even then it is still amazing for them to show the delusion of one man wanting what is killing him, or leaving him to die. Breaking Benjamin deserves to have its praises sung through all of the music industry in general.

If you are looking for a "valid" reason, then there is never a reason to commit suicide. If you are holding over anyone that you have reasons, then you are trying to garner attention (although I am not one to believe this is the case with you). I have many reasons to commit suicide, just not enough naivete to do so without waiting to see what life holds, though the right mind set can always sway the most timid of minds.

Not many songs make me cry just like that, but this songs holds something dark and overwhelmingly sad that makes me burst into tears. Although it is dark it is among one of the most beautiful songs i've heard. Benjamin Burnley is an incredible songwriter.
Because their songs are always so dark, i like to listen to them when i am in a certain mood. Like sad, lonely, angry or when i feel like watching horror movies. All songs really give a special feeling

This song got me through my divorce and cancer diagnosis back in 2009. It was such a release singing this song in my car to process all of the pain. I used to ride in the car with my newborn daughter in the back seat in her car seat sleep. And i would just sing this song and at times she would wake up and give a small smirk
I attend a University where all I hear is country and pop music. When I played Breaking Benjamin, they tell me to turn off that emo music. Its so sad that truly talented bands like them aren't as popular as pop stars that don't even know how to write music. This is my all time favourite song by them!!! Love them!!!!!

Last summer I helped my 60 some year old grandma out of the bathroom and into the truck so she could go to the hospital. I laid down on the couch and turned on my MP3 to this song. When I woke up my dad told me that my grandmother, who had raised me for the first ten years of my life, had passed away from a severed artery. This song seems to be about, to me, people with depression committing suicide and realizing to late that it was the wrong choice to make. The Evil angel , to me, is the Biblical death angel and they are asking them to fly over them and open his wings, to take them from this world, but regret it, hence saying why cant I breathe.

Why would they ask depression to take them though? Depressed people don't want to be depressed and wouldn't ask to be depressed. But that is just my interpretation of the song. Every piece of art can hold a different meaning to each person due to the differences in the people.

This song makes me calm but yet feel badass at the same time
This song out of all BB's songs has always been one of the ones to interest me most, lyrically. A lot of pain and I believe experience went into this. I always felt this song was about drugs, or addiction. We think of angels as our protectors, we find solace in them watching over us. I feel like whoever Ben is singing for sees an Angel as, finds solace in whatever his drug of choice is. I'll use Heroine as an example. "No, don't leave me to die here, help me survive here" to me sounds like our character realizes the negative effects it has on his body but doesn't want to stop because ,ironically, he finds it necessary to make it through life. "Put me to sleep evil angel" (He says As he injects the needle) "Open your wings evil angel" (He says as gets ready for it to take effect on his mind) "Fly over me evil angel" (He says as feels the effects of it flow through his mind) "Why can't I breathe evil angel?" (He asks as he dies, realizing what he thought was giving him peace was evil.

This song has to be about sleep apnea. If it is, it's the most accurate description I've ever heard. This is what it's like. Some evil angel keeping us from sleep.
This song and until the end actually helped me stop drinking like I used to when it was like a crutch I'd use to forget depressing crap and instead try to move on and look towards the brighter side of things. It showed me that the alcohol, while feeling so good and medicating, will destroy your life if you're not careful. It taught me that sometimes life sucks and the only thing you can do when you fall off is to pick yourself back up and try again and again until you can make something out of it.
