The title of this vid is exactly what I’ve been wondering so thank you for doing this. I’m shopping for an 5 string Ibanez premium right now and haven’t played a fan fret yet. Great video, you play wonderfully!
I'm with you there but oddly it's really hard to play if you are looking at yourself in a monitor filming a video! This one especially since it's a 6 string and I'm more of a 4 string person.
I love that finish. For not being a 6 string player, you sounded pretty darn good. Im a huge fan of the SDGR line. Appreciate the demo!
Thank you for making this video. You provided a lot of useful information without bias.
I have bought this because of your video. Thank you for such a genuine video no fancy fx.
Do you
Iike it ?
@@aussiecoastie72 I love it, going from a Precision to this was quite effortless. I’m tending to play it more than my 4 string. It’s really versatile

I am a big fan of Sound Gear bass guitars, and as of right now I have 4! Can't wait for the
next video of this bass...!
Excellent playing and awesome tone thanks for this demo it was informative 💯👍🏽
I found that after playing a fanned fret bass for about 2 minutes it isn't even noticeable.

Dammit, Bill! You make me want one, and I've never played a six string before. Lol
I was worried about wrist tension but it doesnt seem to be an issue
you play it good the only thing I hear is that the muting seems difficult because I hear some strings ringing al the time.
Ringing can be dampened by putting a fret-wrap or hair-tie above the nut. You'll see it being done on a lot of 8 string guitars.
