- I finally purchase a piece of equipment for my shop. I also restore the pedal assembly and begin disassembly of the front end for headlight operation.

I’ve been waiting for your next post. I love Cougars and I’m willing to continue to wait as long as you assure me you will do more posting. Hope all is well with you. Miss you
Thank you. I tend to slow down progess wise during the winter on the cars. There are some things in the works on my '67 so I'm hoping to have an update in a few months. I appreciate the support
They do make an electric motor conversion for the headlight doors which is a nice upgrade over the vacuum system. I did it to my '69 this week.
Cougars.... so much better than mustangs in my opinion.
Love me a Stang but not gonna argue with that
Never heard of using molasses as a rust remover. It works pretty well? Vinegar or phosphoric acid are typically what I've been using.
It works well. You'll likely need to soak for a week or more and will need to hand clean the part after (or maybe use a parts washer). It will affect paint if submerged for long enough. It's also quite cheap as the ratio I use is 10:1 water:molasses and a 5 gallon bucket of molasses was $50 shipped
@@thecougareliminatorden1622 vinegar can take about the same amount of time, about a week depending on the severity. If wanting to de rust a component in a few hours naval jelly (phosphoric acid) is my go to. Unlike vinegar or naval jelly molasses doesn't seem so caustic that it compromises finishes as easily, unlike the former two. May give it a try sometime.
Are you going to cut the gt up and completely restore it or just do the little more necessary things?
Im doing a full drivetrain rebuild plus suspension steering brakes etc. I may have to address the rust on the driver side toe kick/torque box area but going to leave it cosmetically as original as possible
Are you going electronic with the sequential rear turn signals?
LED's?
6 hours to clean rusty e-brake part.???... wire wheel on a bench grinder would do better in a couple minutes.
