Christina, let me say something... I'm an English teacher in Brazil and your videos have helped a lot of my students. It's like I'm bringing a native speaker of English into the classroom and I work alongside you. I mean... I pause, provide extra examples... So... Thank you for the partnership! You're really good! Keep up the amazing job!

    Hi Christina. I'm Japanese.
When I went to the U.S. and got in a restaurant, I was surprised that I had to select from many options.
If I wanted to have a hotdog, I had to select the kinds of bread, meat, sauce or something.
There were some sets of foods in Japan usually, so we don't need to communicate with servers.
I thought because there are many kinds of people - countries, religions, and other things- in the U.S. so I felt it's a cultural difference.

I've been to the USA and I was taken aback by the quick language used by all customer service people. And I'm not the slower speaker but this was very fast. This made me shy and because of that I didn't order anything myself, I asked my American friend to handle orders. Thanks for videos that help to go through this 😂

Hi Christina! Today is the first time I’ve ever been in your YT page and I think the way you present every day speech is very well done and executed so new speakers can follow, especially how you give different variations on how things are said, with speed and whatnot….
With that said, there is one thing I just bring to light: you tend to put an extra letter/syllable/utterance that I feel might not should be there: At the end of a lot of your teaching sentences, or varied words, you include an “a” at the end. If you would, play back this video to yourself and see if you catch it. Such as, “how would you like your steak cooked-a?” Twice on that example, and there’s more closer to the beginning of the video, I think it’s “do you want a booth-a? Would you like a table-a?” “How do you like your eggs-a?” It’s a simple tic that your vernacular has, and I think it could be a bit confusing to learners…

When I went to Texas last year, I didn't know how to order beef steak. After I chose the T-Bones, the server asked me for what did the steak cooked. Then I was puzzled by the five types of cooking: Rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well done. Finally I told the server that I needed it cooked 50%, then the server successfully got it. It was an interesting experience in the US. Wanna to travel there again.

HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE? then she decided to bring us to adequate table, and the following tips that you explained , thats true, but it's very important to tell the tourists whose will come to U.S. don't forget about tips, because servers in restaurantes don't reciéve a good salary, they expect to get a good tip from customers, the minimun legal tip now in U.S. is 15% , from the checko or bill
. thanks cristine, you're videos are amazing, i love it.

Over me: My favorite eggs are sunny side up and sometimes hard boiled. As for the meat, I prefer it medium-well, french potatoes, salad with italian dressing and a glass of red wine . In my language it is easy to chosee, but in English I just only point it out, but after this lesson I'will be able to order every thing I want

Another day, we needed water to prepare the baby's bottle. Supermarket did not accept anycustomer to be sure to close on time. We run to a restaurant near to our place and asked them if they could just sell us a bottle of water for our baby. The owner told us I was not allowed to only sell water. He offered it to us. I often go to this type of restaurant with my family. The owner had great values.
