The Avata works great flying from inside of the car. When I purchased mine it was in the winter. You can achieve everything from inside that you would sitting outside in the cold. Yes I still have line of sight, With the Avata I don't usually distance fly so I stay within the line of sight legal boundaries. Once you fly from inside your car with the heat and music on you'll never go back
We love the Avata in our house. I have a son, we both never flew a drone before and the Avata with the motion controller gives us the experience without us having to skill up. Yes one can be an elitist and say "That is not a REAL FPV experience and you HAVE to do it like this" but we are not looking to make this our profession, for us it is fun to just fly around in the park. For you to crash a drone so much and still label this video "Dont buy" is a bit disappointing. There are people where this drone is a really good fit. Maybe it will help your channel to consider a potential audience for it. The future is thin on click bait titles. Good luck.

I am sure I am not the only one who unsubscribes from channels that don't respect the viewers time. Like Graham Stephan, I used to enjoy his channel but it got so incredibly clickbaity that I would often find myself feeling tricked, not a big deal, its youtube not health insurance but I think there is a lot more future in the slow game. When you earn trust from the audience. MKBHD is a good example, I don't watch all of his videos but I respect that he let's me pick what to watch by mostly having pretty accurate titles. And the ones I do click on, they are because I am interested and then not disappointed. Again, no offence, its not a big thing, brotha's gotta eat, you do you. Just wanted to mention that some people will really notice it in a negative way when you do. Again, wish your channel the best.

I think it’s a bit expensive for beginners. Only buy the avata if you know you want all the fancy bells and whistles, but if you want to go manual just get a tiny whoop or something. There are tons of cheap rtf kits too.
The Avata reaches 60mph / 97 kmh in manual mode, i hardly doubt that this would be too slow for you, i guess you didn't go full throttle or didn't tilt the drone enough, FPV cameras typically point up so you rarely see the horizion if you are standing still. if you found out that your camera is just pointing at the floor while reaching higher speeds i guess you need to tilt the camera up a little bit. also what you are talking about in the video part is not resolution - it reaches 4k which is absolutely fine. what you really meant is a bigger sensor (while keeping the pixels the same amount) which captures more light. yes you mentioned it afterwards, but the text was wrong. this would increase the overall image quality. seems a bit like you talked it down for points that you didn't fully realize or articulate. just a heads up for others that just read the title and go "oh i shouldn't buy this"
Great video. I love DJI! I fly a Phantom Pro and love shooting waterfalls in the mountains! I can fly out to waterfalls that are usually unreachable except through pretty dangerous hiking. 4k videos look amazing on my 72" 4k screen!
@6ix - feel the same way about the Avata - it's a fantastic way to learn true FPV in Acro mode... Great video and thanks for sharing your experiences. 1 idea possibly to get more speed. have you pitched the drone up more while in manual mode? I think by default it's about 15 degrees or so, but if you pitch higher you will usually fly faster so you get back to normal horizon view (vs. looking at the sky) good luck getting to 1000 and beyond!
I didn't get the sense that you were saying not to buy it after watching this, it was a mix of emphasizing equally the pros and cons. Good info to know though.
Great Video, you got to 1K Subscribers! I wish we had decent drone simulator apps when I started flying FPV. I crashed my drone over a hundred times and broke it 20-30 times before I started to get the hang of it!
I love the Avata. Battery life great compared to traditional FVP drones. Camera could be better with I’m sure the V2 will be the drone to have FPV. Pretty damn durable for what it is. I agree could be a little faster. I actually like the flying with the wand that comes with it. It’s a great filming machine. I do have other FPVs also but mainly fly the Avata. DJI did to a great job on this drone. Great video. Thanks

I got a Mini 3 Pro recently and instantly loved it. I was drawn pretty quickly to FPV videos. After deciding that my "next drone" (a Mobula8, I'll start flying it in a week or two) would have an O3 Air Unit, making it simpler to just choose DJI Goggles 2 or Integra. I plan to fly the Mobula in Acro, so I'm practicing in sims (mostly DCL and Velocidrone). I got the Goggles 2 and Motion 2 and took them out tonight. While the Motion 2 won't be usable outside of DJI, it is an absolute blast to fly with in FPV - so intuitive. I just wish I would have pressed the record button. I will next time I take it out (tomorrow?).
@@6ixCinema yeah, but the processing and color science just isn’t there to create a video file as good looking as GoPros. Never thought such a thing was possible. Idk what the avata settings allow, but the O3 unit (same camera), lets you drop sharpness and noise reduction and dropping both as far as they go helps, but the 10-bit is not like any decent 10-bit I’ve seen. Still using it though, it serves an awesome purpose in tiny cinewhoops and whatever class avata is in, but I wouldn’t reccomend the avata vs a 3.5” cinewhoop with a GoPro.

The Avata will always be a tad screechy. It's inherent in the pusher design. You get better flight characteristics with a pusher, for sure. But you'll always have the screech. Doesn't matter who builds it. Whoops are quieter, but not as precise. There's the trade-off. Physics.
Airmaster screw 4 blade props, and aerodynamic tail and mmmm mmmm mmmmm. I had a crash that damaged the arm due to the glitch the avata has on turns and DJI replaced the whole drone, I DIDNT HAVE A CARE PLAN, and now its even better minus the glitch.
Hello, great, I would like to know if with the latest firmware it has happened to you that you change from manual mode to normal mode without pressing any button and without making a quick movement or some strange vibration in the movements of the drone? I haven’t had that on my end with the latest or previous software update. Are you flying freestyle with the Avata? It could be from taking really sharp turns. I have seen people talk about that. I’m just using the native rocksteady to stabilize my footage. Thanks for the comment 🙏🏽

It makes the video so much better also as the fpv visual and recording camera are the same, i dont expect the camera to get better anytime soon. Dji O3 unit is one of the best or the best digital air units right now.
The only way the algorithm would pick up my video lol 😂 yeah I only use d-cinelike. It wasn’t available yet when I made the video. I’m probably going to get the air unit and build my own drone
I love my Avata, I came from drones like the Mavic mini & Mavic 2 zoom so still learning fpv. It seems like a good transition to fpv and will get another 03 air unit drone next, maybe something a bit faster for freestyle.

I have it all on my channel 😂. I sold my fleet last year and wanted something digital and new… I wasn’t impressed with the first larger Fpv drone dji put out. Would you rather have that one?

Have you looked into the dji o3 air unit? You can build that into your old quads. It’s basically like having the Avata but you can use any frame/motor/prop combinations. I’m looking at doing that next. But I haven’t had any issues with the Avata so far. Haven’t flown over big bodies of water. Just rivers. Thanks for the sub! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Probably best to get more practice in the simulator if you are going full manual indoors. It’s way harder in tight spaces. You can also try liftoff simulator. It is better than DJI’s
I bought the avata the day it came out. I had never flown FPV before, I started in the simulator but it wasnt long before I was looking up how to switch my avata into manual mode. After minimal training I started flying the avata in manual mode....and crashing it...alot. Since then I have graduated to other fpv drones, and I'm currently learning to build them . The avata, I hate flying it now, its slow and feels so heavy, but I appreciate what the avata did for me. Had I started with a 5 inch quad I would of broke it first flight and never flew again cause I didnt know how to fix them LOL The avata took my abuse while I learned and helped me fall in love with FPV flying. But ya fuck that drone it sucks ass LOL
Oh and BTW the avata never broke on me, a few props have busted and the entire prop guard is bent and disfigured but she still flys . I would say at least 20 crashes.
Yeah same bro. It's something you can crash every day and learn FPV on without it breaking and then when you get into more real FPV you can just keep the controller and googles which is awesome cuz it is so easy to connect to other drones and you don't have to look for other options.
This is quite possibly the worst drone ever made. It wouldn’t stay connected, WAY TO MANY menus to navigate just to get it flying. Worst drone I have ever owned. You should be ashamed trying to get people to waste money on this. It’s complete junk. 1:38

I regret selling my fji fpv, i could go 3.km away no. Problem w a full gopro on top.. I own full fpv drones too but the fpv was my main mid-Long range quad..
@@6ixCinema yeaah, dont get me wrong, i have GONE 4km w old caddx vista, but i meant i felt more secure in case of a fail safe, i knew that dji fpv would come back to me.. It did several times... Betaflight gps for full fpv drones were not as accuate as RTH from dji
I've got a fleet of camera drones...Been toying with the prospect of FPV... the DJI FPV looked too radicle for me, but the Avata looks doable... your video may have sold me on giving it a try... @@6ixCinema At the moment I am using the Liftoff, and it is a substantial difference from dji simulator! The feeling of gravity is totally different. And btw, I've done the same thing like you , buying the dji fpv and then buying only the Avata. But i didn't sell the FPV tho.
Have been flying DIY FPV quads for years now... self builds and RTF's etc but wanted to try it out and damn, it was back in the box within the day and back to DJI for a refund. It's a good solutions for absolute beginners but there are so much better cinewhoops out there which cost far less.
Definitely agree with that statement! It is good for beginners. I am seeing limitations already and looking to buy new quads. This was a stepping stone for me into the hobby
Why is there so much hysteria about the simulator? I learned to fly for real. Took many walks. Wrecked many quads. Became an excellent tech, pretty good intermediate freestyle pilot then I finally after all the hype downloaded Liftoff. What a vast disappointment. It's nothing like flying for real.

Avata is great. I would suggest you to upgrade your motors to Axis C157, makes a hell of a difference in stability and control.

There are two improvements the camera would need, 1 the low light capabilities, and 2, ability to shoot prores.

The Avata will always be a tad screechy. It's inherent in the pusher design. You get better flight characteristics with a pusher, for sure. But you'll always have the screech. Doesn't matter who builds it. Whoops are quieter, but not as precise. There's the trade-off. Physics.

Airmaster screw 4 blade props, and aerodynamic tail and mmmm mmmm mmmmm. I had a crash that damaged the arm due to the glitch the avata has on turns and DJI replaced the whole drone, I DIDNT HAVE A CARE PLAN, and now its even better minus the glitch.

Hello, great, I would like to know if with the latest firmware it has happened to you that you change from manual mode to normal mode without pressing any button and without making a quick movement or some strange vibration in the movements of the drone? I haven’t had that on my end with the latest or previous software update. Are you flying freestyle with the Avata? It could be from taking really sharp turns. I have seen people talk about that.

@@6ixCinema Hello, I have not done freestyle, if I had seen something of this that suddenly changes to normal mode without making any strange or strong movement and I am close but outside geo zone as I was told this happened to be inside geo zone, I still do not understand the behavior of the drone, I went to another area outside geo zone but close to it and happened again, thanks for your answer!!!!!
No hate but thumbnail feels like clickbait, that being said i like the avata, camera is actually good did you try d-cinelike? It makes the video so much better also as the fpv visual and recording camera are the same, i dont expect the camera to get better anytime soon. Dji O3 unit is one of the best or the best digital air units right now.

I love my Avata, I came from drones like the Mavic mini & Mavic 2 zoom so still learning fpv. It seems like a good transition to fpv and will get another 03 air unit drone next, maybe something a bit faster for freestyle.

I have it all on my channel 😂. I sold my fleet last year and wanted something digital and new… I wasn’t impressed with the first larger Fpv drone dji put out. Would you rather have that one?

Super sold on the Avata… I used to use TBS nano receivers with analog vtx had a couple drones go haywire and nearly crash on me…. I sold everything and am hoping DJI is solid af. Have you noticed any loss of sight or drop outs since you’ve owned it? Also have you flown over water comfortably. Subbed btw!
Have you looked into the dji o3 air unit? You can build that into your old quads. It’s basically like having the Avata but you can use any frame/motor/prop combinations. I’m looking at doing that next. But I haven’t had any issues with the Avata so far. Haven’t flown over big bodies of water. Just rivers. Thanks for the sub! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Probably best to get more practice in the simulator if you are going full manual indoors. It’s way harder in tight spaces. You can also try liftoff simulator. It is better than DJI’s
There is no perfect drone or any gudget, because there are always a few people complaining. God created the world that's in perfect.

I bought the avata the day it came out. I had never flown FPV before, I started in the simulator but it wasnt long before I was looking up how to switch my avata into manual mode. After minimal training I started flying the avata in manual mode....and crashing it...alot. Since then I have graduated to other fpv drones, and I'm currently learning to build them . The avata, I hate flying it now, its slow and feels so heavy, but I appreciate what the avata did for me. Had I started with a 5 inch quad I would of broke it first flight and never flew again cause I didnt know how to fix them LOL The avata took my abuse while I learned and helped me fall in love with FPV flying. But ya fuck that drone it sucks ass LOL
Oh and BTW the avata never broke on me, a few props have busted and the entire prop guard is bent and disfigured but she still flys . I would say at least 20 crashes.

Yeah same bro. It's something you can crash every day and learn FPV on without it breaking and then when you get into more real FPV you can just keep the controller and googles which is awesome cuz it is so easy to connect to other drones and you don't have to look for other options.
This is quite possibly the worst drone ever made. It wouldn’t stay connected, WAY TO MANY menus to navigate just to get it flying. Worst drone I have ever owned. You should be ashamed trying to get people to waste money on this. It’s complete junk. 1:38

I regret selling my fji fpv, i could go 3.km away no. Problem w a full gopro on top.. I own full fpv drones too but the fpv was my main mid-Long range quad..
Maybe check out the dji o3 air unit. It’s supposed to have crazy range!
@@6ixCinema yeaah, dont get me wrong, i have GONE 4km w old caddx vista, but i meant i felt more secure in case of a fail safe, i knew that dji fpv would come back to me.. It did several times... Betaflight gps for full fpv drones were not as accuate as RTH from dji
Personally I prefer original DJI FPV drone over loud and unreliable Avata.

@@6ixCinema At the moment I am using the Liftoff, and it is a substantial difference from dji simulator! The feeling of gravity is totally different. And btw, I've done the same thing like you , buying the dji fpv and then buying only the Avata. But i didn't sell the FPV tho.

Have been flying DIY FPV quads for years now... self builds and RTF's etc but wanted to try it out and damn, it was back in the box within the day and back to DJI for a refund. It's a good solutions for absolute beginners but there are so much better cinewhoops out there which cost far less.
Definitely agree with that statement! It is good for beginners. I am seeing limitations already and looking to buy new quads. This was a stepping stone for me into the hobby

Why is there so much hysteria about the simulator? I learned to fly for real. Took many walks. Wrecked many quads. Became an excellent tech, pretty good intermediate freestyle pilot then I finally after all the hype downloaded Liftoff. What a vast disappointment. It's nothing like flying for real.
People just don’t want to crash their drone and have to fix it. I think that’s the only reason. I agree flying for real is way better!
