I am laughing so hard and enjoying these so much. Martin Short is so funny on so many unexpected levels, i appreciate it now even more than I did back then and more than ever
The interview with Mel Brooks is among the funniest 5 minutes of video anywhere. Martin Short is a GENIUS and Mel Brooks is on that Greatest Comedians of all time list for good reason!😊
Yes, you have to love the insanity. The show is so underrated and underappreciated. I think it’s Martin short’s most brilliant and fully realized project. It’s a shame they haven’t released the entire series on DVD or Blu-ray. Thanks for watching!
I can't believe you wrote this comment today! I just finished mowing my lawn (with earbuds in) listening to this episode. As I'm sure you notice you can actually hear Martin snort right after Mel says "olive oil" stifling a laugh! When Short breaks character you know he's talking to someone very funny. Of course Mel is the king. Have you watched the extended (unedited) interview with Steve Martin? Both of them are cracking each other up. It's my favorite moment. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Jan Hooks is one of my favorite comedic actresses; along with Carol Burnett and Madelyn Kahn. She was a true genius. She was at her very best when she worked with Martin Short and Phil Hartman. So sad two of them are gone.
Omg. What he did to Mel Brooks, a comedic genius himself, was an all-time classic. Lmfao!!! See the Jerry Lewis interview on the telethon. It’s a rival.
I know isn't that amazing! Did you notice how Martin snorts when Mel answers "olive oil"? Mel Brooks was my instructor when I discovered comedy as a kid. Once I saw The Producers I realized his genius. That's probably my favorite Jiminy interview. Thanks for watching!
very funny: I never saw Mel "subdued" by an interview before... He's the utmost case of "subverting this q&a" to wherever he wants to go, with hilarious results. It's a great testament to Martin Short's talent that Mel got caught off guard, methinks.
LOL, that Jason gave him a line that he didn't know what to do with and ate the donut... lolz. I love Martin Short, "when it doubt, retreat!!!" Awesome stuff
I watched an interview where Martin Short said he modelled Jiminy Glick's character on "morons" that he saw on daytime TV. E.g, "what's your beef with the nazi's?" 😂 Brilliant. The stupidist most ignorant thing to say ever, very funny
This interview with Mel Brooks is probably my favorite episode. Have you checked out my Martin shortlist yet? ua-cam.com/play/PLH5g-7nQtqYudBChOWKhl-ZWLfCT17yGO.html&si=UDlbH0AJKoewN88j
I know! Isn’t it just genius?! One of the best things about posting these videos online is hearing from all the people that appreciate as much as I do. Thanks for watching!
What High Art it is to watch a comedy giant like Mel (not too many left) get his balls broken and loose his cookies in an interview. Marty's wit might be quicker than Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams. Fuh-KNEE.
I secretly believe that the show pays for therapy for each guest to ensure that their egos aren’t bruised despite their desire to appear like tney are playing along and not actually hurt.
That’s a hilarious idea! Have you checked out my Martin Short playlist yet? ua-cam.com/play/PLH5g-7nQtqYudBChOWKhl-ZWLfCT17yGO.html&si=UDlbH0AJKoewN88j

I’m so glad you’re enjoying these videos. It’s nice to know other people appreciate this show as much as I do. Thanks for watching!

Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching!
It's too much!! I can't handle the hilarity! Comedy genius right here
Martin is phenomenal
Never fails to crack me up that he's bandleader with a harp.
Yes, you have to love the insanity. The show is so underrated and underappreciated. I think it’s Martin short’s most brilliant and fully realized project. It’s a shame they haven’t released the entire series on DVD or Blu-ray. Thanks for watching!
And they are all "playing" so exaggerated. Haha!
I think at one point it was disclosed that the band is composed of eastern European refugees.
And the fake tan--it's such a good blend of broad and detailed comedy.@@timmyteaching
It's Michael McKean. He was in Clue and a bunch of other really good stuff.
Holy shit it took me a minute to realize that wasn’t actually Larry David 😂 Martin Short is a true master of his craft
16:47 “What scares Mel Brooks?”
“Olive Oil.”
🤣 closest Marty came to breaking

@@ClassicComedyArchive thanks for uploading
@@ClassicComedyArchive ...but he strangely missed the oportunity to rebound: "¿what do you have against powerful skinny cartoon women role models?"
@@ClassicComedyArchive wasn't quite a snort, but a laugh. Exhalation
I discover Jiminy Glick only in 2024. Why the hell he's only getting world wide recognition now? This is very good! Martin short is a master comedian.
His impression of Larry David is amazing - spot on!!
Oh, Dixie, you will always be missed. Love!
Thanks for watching! Jan Hooks is one of my favorite comedic actresses; along with Carol Burnett and Madelyn Kahn. She was a true genius. She was at her very best when she worked with Martin Short and Phil Hartman. So sad two of them are gone.
Thank you - I'm so addicted to Jiminy Click and you have a few sketches here I've never seen!
That Larry David skit was absolutely hilarious. I gotta find the episode where he combined the Osbournes with Hitler.
Thank you for uploading!
It took me a minute to realize that wasn't actually Larry David lol
"What's your big beef with the Nazis" has to be one of the greatest interview questions ever.
@@jesusbowls My fave line too!!!
Making Mel (Albert) Brooks crack up like Glick does is the highest compliment of his comedy.
_'the meat got caught in my mouth'_
_'A pickle just fell down'_
So glad to see the late, criminally underrated, Jan Hooks!
Totally agree!
Omg. What he did to Mel Brooks, a comedic genius himself, was an all-time classic. Lmfao!!! See the Jerry Lewis interview on the telethon. It’s a rival.

Mel Brooks ...always knocking the nazis.... LOL
Perhaps one of the greatest lines from that entire series. Martin short was a true genius; I mean is a true genius! Thanks for watching.
This ep is so damn good!!
Agreed! The interview with Mel Brooks is beautiful. Martin almost loses it when Mel answers "olive oil". Thanks for watching!
I’m mortified that I keep rewinding the “bill” movie part played by Mickey roonie and about to pass out from laughing 😢😂😢😂
Don’t be mortified! It’s one of the best aspects of comedy before wokeness and virtue signaling destroyed it. Thanks for watching!
"There can only be one"
& it is indeed Jiminy.
Can watch this 100 Times and still be amazed everytime.
I watched an interview where Martin Short said he modelled Jiminy Glick's character on "morons" that he saw on daytime TV. E.g, "what's your beef with the nazi's?" 😂 Brilliant. The stupidist most ignorant thing to say ever, very funny
I vote also for asking Spielberg, "When are you going to make the big one?"
I love the guests who appreciate what Martin Short does and plays it straight. Dislike those whose egos try to top him. Adore Mel Brooks!

My feeling, too
I think they are very entertained by him and like to watch him work.
"Don't talk to me about shrinkage. I wasn't exactly Long Dong Silver to begin with." That skit is very funny stuff.

He sometimes reminds of Dana Carvey's "Church Lady" character on SNL! 😂😂😂
This show was out of nowhere.
I remember when I first watched it thinking this is unbelievable
Thanks for watching! It makes me happy people are rediscovering this amazing show!
Martin short as Larry David as Kenneth Lay wtf 😂
Aren't you kind? He zinged Seinfeld with that -- the Glick version of bless your heart.
Totally! Thanks for watching!
Man the comment about "do you think J Lo and Ben are going to make it" was freaky. This filmed in 2003.
"It was nominated for fourteen. That means it lost two."

"You know what's that called? It's called paranoia, and you know what it's caused from? It being not that clean and poor as a child"😆
awesome episode
Was that Jan Hooks playing his wife, Dixie?
Yes, she was hilarious as Dixie!
OMG!!
The Mel Brooks segment is truly a Masterclass in Comedy!!
That was Honestly one of the Funniest things I’ve ever seen!!!!
That was the absolute best.
omg I did not recall ever seeing Jiminy's writers LOL 2:40
Comedy gold!
I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!
Whistle stops. Iykyk
He is a comedian genius
Ty
Mel Brooks was best Jiminy Interview.
Watch the one with Sean Hayes. Is also very funny.
Am i the only one who thinks Jason Alexander are extremely sexy?
Jimitey is a one man celebrity roast...

I love Mel Brooks, his voicing of Bugs Bunny is brilliant. Can't believe Stacey didn't have that in the notes
No, that was Albert Brooks
@erikrichards5072 Mel Blanc
Morphine doesn't judge.
No way Ben and J-Lo make it.
I know! Isn’t it just genius?! One of the best things about posting these videos online is hearing from all the people that appreciate as much as I do. Thanks for watching!
Chalk up one accurate prophecy for you Fug, but since they are both so equally vapid, I thought it might work.
"What's your beef with the Nazis?"
so funny
Mel Brooks is a god.
Hilarious!!!

Jiminy's wife? Is that really Dixie? Is this the first time they actually show her?
Jan Hooks from SNL
did Martin short dress up as Larry David? omg! Martin Short gets funnier and funnier as you discover him on UA-cam 20 years later
Lol💙🤗😘
Well hello!!💙💙💙😍🤗😘
Wonder how the “re…..ted” comments have aged?
