Thanks to all the fellows at Kaddie Shack. I am on my second set of Kadron's from these guys. I can and have used many brands of carburetors over the years. Dell's, Webers, Holley Bug sprays and Kadron's. I chose the Kadron's because they are so simple. I used 44 IDF Weber's on my 2165 and the engine was great, but it used lots of fuel. Maybe because I have a heavy foot? When I built my 1776 for my wife's car I chose Kadron's and couldn't be happier with them. This time for my 1776 engine in my Oval I could have had Redline 40 IDF Weber's, but I decided to go with the Kaddie Shack Kadron's again. The vacuum advance distributer takes care of that flat spot the 009 distributers are known for. Smooth as silk from idle to full power. I'm using a Engle 110 Cam. The car is my everyday driver and the great experience with the first set influenced my decision this time around. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. Good value and good people.
I was ready to give up on tuning my 1835, checked the part you did with the 1/16 drill bit and ordered a new venturi set, and the recommended jet setup on your site and now this thing is singing like a sowing machine!! Glad i ran across your video on youtube.!!
Jeff, you are a Professional…Please take time to make your videos look that way. I have seen you since the 80’s. My friend it looks as if you have done well in all these years. Get some one to video you and Please have a mike in your self. I love the Kadron story and if I ever go Duals , you are my first choice. Clean up the stage and sell your wares to the everyday drivers. Thx My Brother….
I agree. Jeff helped me out a bunch with my Kadrons and I couldn't be happier with them. I have a 1699cc engine on my 67 bug and it runs great. I had it built as a mileage motor but it also has good power. Good vid.
I'm just glad to see another Kad engine run on two cylinders and shake below 1100 rpms. Thought for sure I was the only one and doing something terribly wrong.
Don't need to use a sync tool to set vacuum on carbs? what about removing linkage so that while adjusting they are independent? Also does the crossover equalizer tube need to be pinched off? just asking because I'm doing this right now but everyone else shows a totally different method. Let me know, thanks
Hi need help setting up my duel carbs on my bug . They are both solex brosol carbs..tick over is great but have a pop /bang when I start off then when going it's great. Drinking lot of fuel too any advise please
Very nice video and thank for it, I'm going to crack soon a bran new 1776cc with 40mm Kadron's with CB 040 heads an engle 110° camsharft, compufire 009 ignition @ 10° on what jetting and Idle should I start with to be on the in between range? thank, gretting from France , david
Hey there. Great Video. My mechanic adjusted the carbs and said my 1641 with Kadrons was running good. I drove away and it stalls every time I take my foot off the accelerator. She starts right up and stays going when I gas her. But as soon as I let it roll it shuts off. Anything I can adjust in my garage before I try and limp it back to my mechanic ? Thanks
Whenever I install mine it leaks gas out of the bottom of the carburetor. Do you know what I need to stop the leakage? Does it require a gasket or anything to stop leaking?
can any help me what's wrong with my car there duel 40 kadrons when i drive it and i go over 3rpm the car starts to spit and hesitates to go any tips or help would be helpful
If your ignition is working properly, clean spark plugs, no ruptured or spent wires and the such wich would be the most likely scenario; check the float level on your carbs, if it isnt ajusted to apropriate height fuel can overflow causing that spitting at high RPMs, specially going downhill.
So I,am about to put a 1914 in my bug, it will have 40 Solex Cadrron carbs, I’ am a old motor cycle mechanic, i sink dual carbs, and 4, bank carbs with ether mercury gauges, or vacuum gauges, why aren’t these carbs. Synced this way, they have the the vac tubes for it? I am used to tuning inline -4’s, and V-twins this should be the same.. what am I missing?
Love the videos. One question though. I turn my mix screws right in at the idle doesn’t die. Turn them out and it does 🤔 Just rejetted properly for 1776 and it’s running rich (black smoke).
please make a video on how to install the linkage step by step and not jump to a completely setup engine. the directions that came with the linkage is incomplete and directions for anything else for these cars is non-exisitant other than videos from 5 years ago filmed with a potato. i know you are available to call for assistance but its easier to work off proper directions than be on the phone. its my biggest problem with building my car is that nothing comes with proper directions
I really appreciate the content of your videos BUT, please have someone else working the camera as you are working the item or area of discussion. The camera moving around, out of focus, and more focused on you talking and not the work you are doing can be nauseating (the shaking, not you) and, as a visual person, I prefer to see what you are doing. On my next "run" for VW parts I will definitely stop by to buy and talk. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Oh man please remake this video but with a camera man and a tripod. The shaking is distracting. And when played on a large tv it's too much! I want to do this kit again. Used to steal the parts from junkyard bus engines back in the early 80's. Much easier than Weber! I used to decouple cross linkage, remove air cleaners first then do balance with a section of vacuum tubing. I'll check your site for kit selection. Stock super b

I might just have to cruise on down to your shop. Cool vid.
Nice video, thanks for the clear step-by-step instructions. Your unbuttoned shirt cuff waving around the alternator belt was a little scary though!

HI Jeff, is it possible to install your Kadron 40/44eis carb kit with the engine in the car?
I needed this. My Kadrons has backfires✌️
I need these!
Very common here in Brazil. They where original on some VW PUMAs and other kit cars.
I needed to know what jets to use on a 1600 duel port with a non-merged header,j tubes and duel quiet packs. Thanks
Jeff thanks big help you guys rock
Fantastic, thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video that was very useful.

Great vid man. Thanks.
do these carbs have the vacuum ports out of the box? or are the ones in the video added?
I hate to fuss at people but you really need to roll those loose sleeve cuffs out of the way of that fan belt.
top eu tenho um 1961 com esses carburadores e esses coletores kadron
Eu tive um 1700 com esse carbs. Andava muito mas bebia demais. Voltei os 32 e fiquei feliz. hahaha
I want to install a Dual Port Cross-Fire Intake Manifold to my '70 1600. Do you stock larger (single) Kadrons to help dump fuel down the hole? TIA
Do you guys have a video that helps with cleaning the carburetor

I need your help brotha I bought a 1958 with a 1915 motor with dual kadrons solex im getting a sound that sounds like a backfire
beautiful video, but I was really worried while you were tuning the idle with your loose shirt ends and cuffs.........
hello are those carbs better than a progrevise single carb ?
How long do the new throttle body bushings last? Will i have to replace them later down the road?
how thick is a 16000 to set the points on a VW 16000 air-cooled engine 4.04 which I don't understand how thin is
Should I remove the fuel pump for the install?
what kind of fuel pump would you recommend?

Sort the sound out....esp when filming more than a meter away.
