The most hard-driven people in the world are the ones with the biggest chips on their shoulders, with the most to prove... Gotta' support/justify that ego somehow! Hence the high energy they invest into proving their own worth to the world. They simply MUST obtain social leverage (not all are like this, of course... but a surprisingly large chunk of them.) Incidentally, I've also met quite a few, "losers," who at are some of the most spiritually well-rounded, altruistic, kindest, most novel souls I've ever casually witnessed...
