Guys, I finally got this to work 100% right now, I was so happy that my stereo turned on. This is what I did, instructions: You can do this method 2 ways, go through the fuse box or spice into the cigrette lighter. I went through the fuse box as I had experience due to hardwiring my dash cam to the fuse box. 1. Since this is a corsa, you need a mini add on fuse, brought one from ebay, £1 2. You also need to buy fuses. I picked up a collection from 5 to 30. You get like 40 fuses in a nice small box, it cost me £4 (I brought this because I wasn't sure which fuse size I need so It gives me option). 3. What you need to do, is decide which fuse you need to take out. You must take out the fuse which does nothing when the key is off otherwise there will be contant power to you stereo and you WILL KILL YOUR CAR Battery. I first used a 10 fuse but the stereo was on when I exited my car, to test it. 4. I finally found a 7.5 fuse that only works when the key is in the ignition. I then got the stereo red ingition wire, stripped about 1 cm or wire so the copper shows. I twisted the copper wire so the wire doesn't fray. 5. I then got the add on fuse, put the red ignition wire inside the add on fuse, then got a crimper and pushed down on the blue butt connector. So the copper wire is now essentially joined to the add on fuse. If you pull on the ingition wire, it should not come out, it should be secured tightly. 6. I then put an 10 fuse in my add on fuse, added the car fuse of 7.5 then I put it back into the car. The stereo SHOULD NOT TURN ON. 7. I then put my car keys in the ingition, turned on my car and the stereo came on. I tested it a few times, taking out my keys, putting it back in to make sure it's off when the keys were out. 8. Success. I then followed the instruction of this video. Makes sure you pull the ingition fuse wire from the back of the stereo cage to the fuse box, there are spaces in the back to wire you ingition wire to the fuse box. 9. After that, I got some cable ties, tied up the cables and finish. I used the fuse method because I did not want to splice into the cigrette lighter and fiddle around with that. The fuse method was the cheapest and easiest. Brought the add on fuse and a box of multiple size fuses for £5. No my stereo on turns on when my keys are in the ignition. Also, just in case the piggy fuse does not work for me, other than buying a steering wheel controler unit, the last method would be the cigrette method. Splicing into the ignition wire in the cigrette lighter, then connecting the red ignition wire to that, either use butt connectors, heat shrink or electrical tape. Can I ask, why you think this is a bad method, is there any risk to the cigrette method. I mean, catch on fire, screw up the electronics, ect...
i want to fit a sony XAV AX100 head unit in, but i wanted to know first if that would mean losing the BC functions? also as far as i can tell the adaptors are for ISO, is that correct?
Was thinking of going from my lighter socket at the back of centre console in my 2011 zafira b but I’ve fitted lighter sockets in there and the back and they don’t seem to be ignition switched. We use monitors for the kids in the back and even with the ignition off they still charge if plugged in 🤔

The part of the car info centre that displays the radio station will be blank but the all the other bits will still light up.Sadly without a VERY expensive adaptor your can't set the clock,most modern radios have a clock function built in so it's not really a big loss.
Hello we have a Astra mk5 van,cd30mp3 radio. The problem we have is screen above works perfect CD works,the whole radio powers up but no sound on tuner,changed all fuses that I can find listed in guide??? Is there a fuse for amp?
People pay a fortune for a new car so why are they always fitted with a crap stereo no one wants nad everyone changes I just bought a used car year 2008 and the stereo is straight off off the ark. I want USB ports and Bluetooth who uses or even buys CDs these days?
Heater switch power feed is a switched live, normally it's the thick red cable in the switch connector but make sure to check with a meter before tapping power from it.

When you remove the original stereo you will lose the settings button so i guess you will no longer be able to use the driver info centre at the top centre because there will be no way to to through the menu's
Where do I put the other end of my red wire? One video I watched it ran into fuse box behind glove box and I have no idea how to do it.. everything else I can do I just cannot get my red wire connected
If i wire my stereo to my cigarette lighter and then turn my stereo off would it still use power from my battery because power still goes to my cigarette lighter even when the key isn't inserted. Thanks
Really nice video. I tried installing my new car stereo in my 2009 Corsa D. It didn't work. I forgot about the ignition wire. Now...I thought about splicing into cigarette lighter but decided against it. Today...I brought a add on fuse. Question: which amp did you piggy of? Was it the lights, window ect...what was the amp size...10amp, 15amp, ect. This is what I plan to do....strip the wire a bit of the ignition wire. Put the red wire in the but connector of the add on fuse...crimp it. Then find a correct amp in the fuse box and piggy of it. So it would mean, when I put the key in the ignition, the stereo will turn on and off with the key out. Meaning my battery won't drain as there will be no power to stereo.
Hi One I clean this box from water and open the colored cables and clean it and returned everything in its place the car did not start up Only from light, horn and radio are working .. Any idea what could be the problem? Do I need to do reprogramming ? Thanks

The blue cable connects to the blue one coming from your new head unit. It has a very low power going in the converter. The blue wire from head unit can also be used to power electric aerials.
Will this be the same for a vectra? I currently have a cdc40 and want to change it for a bt/dab/USB 2din unit. Very informative video, not over complicated at all!

Yes the newer shape Zafira is a little more complex and as such I will be doing a video on one when I get one booked in with enough time to allow for recording. I do around thirty cars/vans/trucks a week so shouldn't be to long.
With the Zafira people tend to use a couple of short cut methods instead of going to the fuse box. I have seen either the red wire going to the heater control panel power cable(thick red wire) as this panel is very simple to pop out or if your Zafira has a ignition switched lighter socket then yes that is also an option.
The correct way would be from the cars internal fusebox but I've seen a lot of people wanting a quick fix run a power from the large red wire at the back of the heater control panel(I do not advise this).

To use the stereo without the ignition you need to put both power cables (the red and yellow) to a constant live such as the one that currently goes to your radio via the quadlock plug in the back of the radio.

Well if you had sound to start with then you can rule out speakers/wiring to the speakers,if on the other hand you have just bought the car and have never had them working then you need to check that firstly the car actually has speakers and they work. Other than that it could be the amp has packed up in the original radio or if you have fitted another radio in place of one that worked you may of not plugged the connector in fully.
Depends on the mic design,if a normal single mic then top right corner of the windowscreen hooked under the edge of the headliner and the cable run down the screen pillar. If a double stereo mic then above the interior mirror. On either run the cable down from the radio slot to the drivers footwell and then back up the side of the dashboard making sure the cable is well tucked up above the lower cowling to stop it dropping down on to the pedals.

Hi. The Audioline radio should have a double black plug on the end of it's wiring loom,this should plug in to the plug that has come out of the back of the original radio.
PJs projects yes we tried that at first but it doesn't fit I'm afraid as they are different connectors. So now we're stuck 😕 and the Mr thought it was a good idea to take the connection off and connect the wires together but the new radio wires are a different colour to the ones connected to the car so we're trying to work out which wires need to be joined together.
You need a circuit that goes on and off with the ignition so get a test probe or multi meter and check which fuse in the fuse box reads no power when the ignition is off. If your unsure how to use a multi meter I do show in some of my other radio install vids how to use a multi meter to test for a ignition switched fuse,if that help.
I want a new stereo in my Zafira so I can use my subwoofer from my other car but I’ve seen replacements even single headunits but they look awful.might get a full screen headunit to fill the gap one day

How do you change the washer bottle on a Vauxhall zafira and pump

Take wheel off and then remove inner arch liner,this gives clear access to the bottle. The bottle is held on with a handful of small bolts.

Fuse box is in the boot at the side,check your owners manual for which one it is on your model.

All the lighter sockets are permanent live but there is a unused connector taped the the front cigarette lighter loom that is switched live.

We’re in the fuse box do the red wire go and what fuse to put it to please .
You will need a ignition switched fuse circuit such as the heater blower, make 100% sure you test the fuses before pulling them.

My copper metal peice doesnt fit flush and clipped in on the stereo like your did, will that be a problem?.

Your top screen will still show time and temp but the area for anything radio related will be blank.

If its a DAB why would you need both ariel to go at the back?.
If you only use the dab antenna you will not get any FM reception.

Not colour coded to the cars original wiring no,but the colours will match the cable that came with your new radio.

All aftermarket single or double din size radios will fit the Zafira.

Your info display should still show outside temp and time,the rest should go blank because the radio station is now displayed on your Kenwood radio.
