joykimberlyy Probably because you can understand english when you hear it but you probably do not speak Korean. It’s in a language you understand plus you watched it first. that’s why.
There are some people that are claiming that it's only a "language barrier" factor. But this is NOT the case for everyone! If you know ANYTHING about music you can hear the difference in the "flow" of lyrics AND even a slight difference in the arrangement of the actual song itself. These obvious differences are more than likely what's REALLY behind this. Honestly, anyone that is really into Kpop (whether or not they are fluent in Korean) is HERE FOR THE MUSIC!
Sabrina Starks But even so everyone have a bit of bias. Added with the fact that English version came out first Most English speakers lean toward the English version. But I am a native Korean speaker so I lean towards to Korean version because I can understand it more better compared to English version. If the case was more about the arrangement than the bias then all the songs that were written in English language then translated to Korean and released would sound off compared to its English version. An example would be bad boy by red velvet

In my opinion, The English Version was better, but I feel the Korean Version video was better. I feel as though the English version video was kinda focused on just visuals and teased bomb ass choreo, but the Korean version's different scenes and more choreo shots is what I liked better about it. I suggest reacting to the English version as well. They were acting a whole knew level of disrecpectful. Like they were straight up wildin.

Like I understand what you saying Courtney & Jasmine Korean version is most important version I know, but you ladies just don't understand how hard NCT 127 slayed the English version Like Irregular could literally hit the American radio air waves the very next day no one would know would know what hit them. Most people would want to know who tf NCT 127 is and they should, because honestly some American music has been quite dull. America is not ready for NCT 127, but they've made their Mark (pun intended for my main bias) 😭 and are ready to take over the western market with a blend of Korean greatness.

First of all the meaning of the lyrics are actually different for both versions, which is very interesting. (btw SM put english subs in the english MV I just noticed like OMFG what’s happening!?!?)
Second, to me, it’s so unlike other “english versions” of kpop songs. Like the guy from ‘Form of therapy’ sort of said; in a way they did cater to the American audience but rather with the used expressions/slang and visual presentation, without losing any bit of their music style, their NCT style” and I totally agree.
Third, it has THAT’S THAT QUESO and BUST IT BUST IT BUST IT and MY BANK ACCOUNT GO and LOOKING LIKE A FASHION SHOW etc etc etc....❤️

contrast to most comments here, i actually prefer the korean version. i just think the flow is better in korean and i like the lyrics better too. i'm not that fond of lyrics talking about money and i know the english lyrics is like that because the track is on their "dream" side. I feel like the Korean version feels more like Refined Money, like men who worked for their $$$ whereas the English version feels more like the Cocky Young Upstart who has money to blow and he wants you to know it.

The English version is the dream version the “irregular” version so it’s more dream like and more fire the way things would be in a dream. Also the English version is the last song on the album when they made it and they are a little more cocky haha. The korean version is now the “regular” version, it’s tamed it’s about making it and working to get there. It’s also the first song on the Regular- Irregular album..... so I wrote an essay I’m sorry. But had to say it. I’m excited to see the girls react to the English version cause it’s Lit!! lol.
