- Very easy way to put on or remove a fitted sheet from a mattress in a camper or other tight space.
Although I made this out of 1/4 inch paneling I don't see any reason it wouldn't work just as well if made from a heavy piece of cardboard box such as a mattress or refrigerator is delivered in. You could just cut it out with a straight edge and a utility knife. Hope this helps out those that want to use this idea but don't have access to woodworking tools.
Amazing! You should patton it!!! Exactly what I was looking for. I thought, “Someone HAS to have had this problem too and hopefully has shared it”. Sure enough! Thank you very much much!
This is pure GENIUS!! Both the head and one side of our bed are against the walls. Making the bed feels like I'm losing a wrestling match. 😂 We will be copying this trick immediately. Thank you!!
Larry, this is splendid! Can you invent a way to easily fold that same sheet after washing it 😅
Dude, you are our hero!!!!
I cannot express how much this changes my camper experience! I cannot wait to do this! I may also try this with my duvet cover to keep the bottom tucked in! (We have a camper bed, and the foot of the bed faces our entrance, messy beds make me crazy, now I can make a great bed.) Thank you!
Just made one and tried it, fantastic! You’re the man, thanks!!!
...thanks! My wife saw this now I've got to make one.... ;) seriously, good idea!

If you make one of these out of cardboard and find that it is not stiff enough you could glue some long thin strips of wood to it. The home supply stores sell these strips quite reasonably. I believe they are called lattice strips.
Brilliant!
This was so easy to do and works soooooo well!! Thank you, Larry!!!
Yes I was amazed myself at how easy and well this works after I came up with the idea after struggling for 10 years with other ways of putting on the fitted sheet. That is why I felt I should share the idea on UA-cam.
I forgot to mention in the video that I also put a piece of paneling like this in the top end of the mattress cover. That makes it easy to put on the mattress cover and keeps it in place. So when both the mattress cover and sheet are in place there are two of these this boards at the head end of the mattress.
Thank you , Larry 😊 Pure Genius
I am disabled and have always had a difficult time with fitted sheets. your idea is wonderful and I will definitely try it.
Hope it works for you.
Thank you for sharing, very ingenious.
Larry... that's using your head. what a problem this is for us. The simplicity of this hack is pure genius! Safe travels. bg
Glad it helped you.
Thank you Larry, great idea. By the way , I like your shirt . Looks like a Dickies Flex, I wear them daily.
Larry, this is absolutely brilliant.
You sir, are my new hero!!!
Fantastic! Larry, if we weren't so old, we could manufacture these and offer them for sale in the most common RV mattress sizes. Good job and thank you for sharing.
I have thought of making them to order but I think the shipping would get expensive.
I just enjoy helping others out so am happy that my idea has helped so many .
Another suggestion: for those interested. I think you could easily make one of these from a heavy piece of cardboard from a mattress or appliance box.
Awesome idea!! Thank you so much. I have the same problem with my camper, headed out to the shop to build one now!!!
Thank you so much. This is a game changer. I have back problems and just got done making mine and I’m exhausted
Hope this helps you out.
You are a genius! Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea!
Thank u! This is so smart 😃. I struggle with making the bed and won't even attempt it without my husband helping me this is great it'll let him off the hook 😂
Doesn’t apply to my situation, but you are a very clever man! Good for you! This is brilliant!
Thanks for the compliment.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
SO clever! Thanks for sharing!💜
Gollllly...I am exhausted watching him, but great idea dude:):):)
Thank you! Brilliant as others have said! I will be doing this with 2 pieces of wood for a corner bed. Quite sure it will work perfectly!
Thanks for the compliment. Let us know how that works out with 2 pieces of wood in a corner. I am thinking it might help to put a hinge in the corner, and then drape the two sides of the sheet around that corner and slide it into place.
This is GENIUS my friend!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks. Glad to help.
Thank you!! That's sheer genius! OMG, this is going to be a life saver for me. Hallelujah! Lol!
Great job Larry, we have struggled with making the bed for several months after buying our rv. Great job.
You're a genius Larry, this is a game changer. Thanks!
Just what I was looking for! Thanks!
You are welcome.
You are brilliant my friend :)
Thank You. Hope this works for you.
Well done. Excellent. Will try. Osteoporosis and bed making are not good friends. Will make it a lighter job altogether.
What a great idea!!Thanks for sharing 🙂
You are welcome. Glad to help.
Good going! I believe all people should sleep alone, Im too fidgity.. I get up every 4 hours. Twin beds in the RV. At home I have an antique 3/4 bed. I sleep on top of cotton quilts (fitted sheets underneath for mattress protection) and under cotton quilts. In the RV sleeping bag!
Great vid. I just subscribed.
I can't believe I've lived 4 long years of my life not thinking of this
Don't feel bad. It took me about 10 years to come up with this idea. I have never seen it suggested by anyone else. Hope it helps you out. I used to dread making the bed in the camper. Now I look forward to doing it.
Brilliant! Thank you, I have a loft bed and thinking/hoping it will work with it as well ... no access to woodworking tools, so will try thick cardboard!
Please let us know how the thick cardboard works.
How did the thick cardboard work for you?
You are a genius, thanks so much!
Sweet Baby Jeezus thank you!!
You are very welcome.
Great idea! We have that same bedroom in our camper.
Brilliant
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much? I too have a” walk around”. Bed!
Neat idea!!
AWESOME!!!!
This is cool. We just slide the mattress down away from the front wall of our camper, make the bed, then slide it back up because we have about 3 feet of space between the bottom of our mattress and the kitchen counter. :)
Genius
Very good idea...thanks!!!
On your mattress, since it has walls on 3 sides, you may want to cut the piece of paneling to fit the long side of the mattress and put it on the far side of the mattress next to the wall.
Love this!! Thanks for this video.
You are welcome.
Larry, I do a lot of tossing and turning through the night. The bottom sheet always comes off in my corner. I'm hoping this will keep it in place because it is hard to get in place the first time let alone every morning. thanks
Great idea - might have to try this😊
This is awesome! 👏🙏🙌👏🙌
Great idea
That is so smart! Tfs.
I love it!!!
Great. Thanks.
Brilliant!! Thank you!!
Brilliant, sir.
Thanks for the compliment.
Very clever I struggle Im a short woman I cant reach the upper corners
Thanks. Hope it works for you. I struggled for years too and I am 6'2".
GENIUS!
Brilliant!!
Thank you
Genius!!!
Good idea
Genius!
Awesome!
I would love one of these. I will pay you if you could make me one.
I would consider making one of these for you. I would need to know how wide and how deep your mattress is.
Also the shipping might get a bit expensive.

Well that’s a little cleaver, well done, see men are useful
Thank you Susana. I am glad that you now realize that us men can be useful.
Awesome
Genius thank you. What did you do for career? Curious
I don't have a simple answer to your question. So I will give you a brief life history. I grew up on a farm where we raised grain and cattle. I have always been curious and as a child pestered my elders with questions about everything. I always enjoyed building and fixing things around the farm. I worked as an agricultural loan officer for over 20 years. That was not a real good fit for my personality and abilities. But the pay was decent. Personal computers came into use during my last ten years in lending work and I developed an interest in fixing them. Depression has also been a problem for me for most of my life. Because of the depression I had to leave my work in lending and was on disability for a couple of years. A telephone call center opened up near by that was providing telephone technical support for a line on personal computers. I applied there and was hired on. So I spent the last ten years of my working career doing telephone technical support. I also was in the Army for 3 years, worked as a service representative for a farm equipment manufacturer for 2 years and tried selling farm silos for 2 years. It was a varied and interesting working life. Since retiring, my wife and I have been able to travel a good bit of the USA and Canada in our travel trailer.
Thank you for sharing Larry! Are you still camping?
Yes I am.
Good for Larry u exhausted me just watching u do this! Great idea!
What are the dimensions of the wood paneling?
That would depend on the dimensions of your mattress. As I mention in the video, the piece of paneling should be a little shorter in length than the width of your mattress and about as wide as your mattress is deep. The exact dimensions are not real important. Hope that helps. Ask again if I can help further.
👍
I just pull the mattress down to the foot of the bed, slide the head corners down over that end, push the mattress back into place and do the foot. I don't have time or energy to mess around with a piece of wood.
That works fine if you have the room to pull the mattress down. This idea is to help in the situation where there is not enough room to pull the mattress down so that you can easily reach the head end of it.
Luv this!!
Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
