This cover gave me goosebumps, as I think about my mom and dad. My father died when I was six. My mother raised my brother and me on her own. She told me before that they met when they were kids around 8, then felt in love in high school. Listening to this song and allowing to feel all the feels has somehow given me more closure on my one that got away than anything before. The power of art. Once art makes you feel truly seen in your emotions, it takes away their power. Like, yes. I should have told you what you meant to me. But I didn't, and it hurts, as it should. Listening to this song and allowing to feel all the feels has somehow given me more closure on my one that got away than anything before. The power of art. Once art makes you feel truly seen in your emotions, it takes away their power. Like, yes. I should have told you what you meant to me. But I didn't, and it hurts, as it should. But I'll live, like others have lived. Also, the whole concept of "in another life" kind of gave room for acceptance, because as much as I wish it had, it simply didn't happen in this life. Ugh I love art.

As a widow in her 30s losing my husband to brain cancer I can't tell you how much I listen to this. I have so many years to live still without my husband and it feels impossible. But thankfully I have my dogs that love me.
Honestly Katy should have done the original like this, the pop version she did was just too unsuitable for the beautiful lyrics she wrote, so glad this one exists and do those lyrics justice.
