Superstar Saga was my first experiencing "breaking" a game as a kid. Using the Mush badge(s) and buying a ton of mushrooms, and adding the Great Force item, was the first time I found a way to turn a game's own mechanics against it back in the pre-internet days before those kinds of things became more common knowledge. You become so stupidly powerful. And the game's level cap is 99, so there's nothing stopping you from grinding to an absolutely absurd level of strength, where you don't even need Bros attacks to do hundreds of damage with basic attacks.
It's kinda funny (greg miller) to see the chat with this playthrough, since you can see people backseating, people dunking on the backseaters, and pre-mod Glasses goofing around with Tina.
I finished this yesterday and loved it. I have now played every game in the series and I hope that someday, this series will be revived to it's former glory!
Hey classic childhood game! Took me a while to beat because I didn't realize you could move the cursor when selecting stats on the level up screen, so I just leveled health the entire game. Final boss took FOREVER but I did eventually beat it with possibly the worst build for the game.
I hope Ray plays the other Mario & Luigi games. It's such a good series. Also the brother bit war was great.
Not the remakes, though.
