This will be a fun series , I have a list of SoCal eating spots to check out but always open to suggestions .
Love this series. Keep doing you.
Cool to see the weird and unique houses there too, like that pirate house u showed us. Anything you do is always RAD
Thx a lot Adam, I am blaming yesterday's video for my dream which included sitting next to a dysfunctional, drunk Sean Connery lol. As for todays video I grew up down the street from a Bob's big boy so my family and I ate there quite a bit. The chili spaghetti was one of our family faves with extra cheese & onions👍. (The chili spaghetti never came with a patty)The breakfast buffet on weekends was also another fave. I used to have a rubber Bob's big boy bank.
You should take a drive down to Julian, famous for there pies ☝️
I heard that Mel Brooks and David Lynch met there to discuss The Elephant Man director's job. Lynch would only go if it was at Bob's Big Boy.
Can't believe Bob's Big Boy still exists!!? 😃 Haven't been there since I was little. They had the best chili spaghetti 🍝
So cool to see this place I'd visited as a child in the 60's and 70's. Thanks for the tour!
This was such a nice surprise when it popped up as a suggestion, it was one of the last places we ate on our Route 66 trip before arriving in Santa Monica. We stayed in the Tangerine, just a short walk away from Bob's. Ahhhh the memories...
Thank you Adam 👍🏼
Wow, Bob's Big Boy updated their menu and included their origiinal burger, fries and shakes menu. That's awesome when they adapted to food trends in 2020 and beyond. Glad there is one store open in Burbank. This store is so iconic in SoCal eateries.
I like your friend. Not only is she cute but she seems to be a very nice person. It is important to have nice people in our lives.
It’s always nice hanging out with her
@@TheDailyWoo Little spinner. UUfff.
Yeah your friend is super cool 😎.I like her heart, very natural and honest. BIG UP to you guys 👍🏻 👍🏻
Natalie... such a cutie
@@TheDailyWoo We used to have a Bobs big boy in Oceanside in the Carlsbad Mall Back when it was The Plaza Camino Real mall
Bob was like “come on, a salad and spaghetti? I am tossing a burger in there “. :)
Felix Ungers favorite dish Spaghetti and French fries.
he brought that lady in with him and BOB said go ahead and order whatever you want lol
A burger under the spaghetti , hilarious 🙃
@@Dive-Bar-Casanova.....I think that was Oscar's, wasn't it? Felix would never have had two carb heavy foods in one meal.
Oscar's is now Jack in the Box.@@msr1116
When my late wife and I were dating in the mid-1960's, we frequently visited Elias Big Boy restaurants located in the Detroit, MI area. I'd always get the BB combo and she'd get the Slim Jim. Every time I get back to Detroit to visit family, I try to stop at BB just to relive old times and tastes. Thanks for stirring the memories, Adam. Take care, stay safe!
Great video and great people. Thank you sir!
I work in Burbank, but have been working from home since March. It's so nice to see the place again. Thank you, Adam.
Who don't love some Bob's big boy!!! I'm telling you man, you're the next Huell Howser
Oh man the world needs a Woo Howser.
Love Bob's Big Boy!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful picnic outing!!!😎👍❤
As a native So Cal person, I’ve been to Bobs many times. In the 70”s there were many locations all over So Cal. The burger patty does come with the spaghetti, it’s like a chile size burger combo! Great video love it keep them coming! How about a Tommy’s burger 🍔 soon!
Yeah "Chili Size" is a weird SoCal thing ... it's like chili with a burger in there. Charlie's Chili in Newport Beach serves it too.
Huh. I've lived here for 27 years and never been there. I wouldn't feel any need to do it now except that I just wanna go somewhere...
Chili sizes I've had the patty but never spaghetti you got a bonus
Hi Adam, this was a very awesome vlog at the historical Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. I have eaten the original Bob's Big Boy hamburger it was terrific back in the 1980's! Wish you well and safe!!
Bob's was one of my favorite places when I was a kid. Farrell's was another.
Same here. I grew up in Costa Mesa. Great memories.
Farrell's was the best. Think I still have a plastic animal from the zoo.
I use to go to Farrell's the one in the valley all the time for my birthday. The fire truck ice cream bowl was my favorite!!
I miss Farrells...we used to have one down here in Northern San Diego
Orlando Streets I went to the Farrell's on Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach CA. They had some good stuff for sure.
Thanks Adam for a great day. Love your adventures!
Haven't had Big Boy's in years! I still have my BB bank I got as a kid!
That was awesome to see the inside. We had a franchise in Fort Worth, Texas named Kips Big Boy. Looked just like Bobs on the inside. Brought back memories. It has been gone for 30+ years.
I'll never forget a time I went to Bob's when I was very young. I screamed out: "There's bugs on my hamburger!" Turns out they were sesame seeds. I will forever know them as "sesame seed bugs".
Oh my gosh !
My 4 year grandson declared in a load voice there was weeds in his burger, red leaf lettuce and rocket.
Thanks Adam!! Grew up in Burbank . Bobs Big Boy is always on my food bucket list to visit when I’m in town. Such great memories eating there.
I been going to Bobs Big Boy since I was a little girl now I'm 60 year old
That's Great!! I grew up going to the one in Santa Clarita, CA. I remember being so young my parents had to ask for a "booster seat". The one in Santa Clarita closed many, many years ago...
Thanks for all your videos! Truly amazing places 😎🤩
First some Taiwanese baseball in the morning, then my traditional youtube Sunday with Adam the Woo and some others. Can't get any better.
You gave me a good idea for a location to eat at the next time I am in the LA area. Thank you.
By any chance is one of your Sunday regulars Gone With The Wynns?
So pleased to see you in your element and happy again Adam. Send some of the sunshine to the UK. XX
I was raised in Riverside CA. I remember seeing that same Bobs Big Boy statue in the entrance back then...I dont know if its there anylonger
i enjpy all your blogs adamthewoo thanks again bro.
That giant painting on the wall is vaguely terrifying. I remember the days when Bob's was a little more prolific. I think quite a few of the locations closed down over the years. I vividly remember looking forward to the decadent hot fudge cake whenever I was there as a child, and I always either ordered spaghetti or a burger. It's good ol' classic comfort food!
Yeah I think every kid was wow about that dessert 😄👌🏽I would see that hot fudge cake advertised on tv and would ask my parents if we could go there for dinner, just so I could order that hot fudge cake lol
Bob's big boy always ready with a friendly smile welcoming everyone into its doors , family and friends alike , we had 2 Bob's big boys in the city where I lived , great food and good times !
Love classic diners like that. I have heard the spaghetti is quite good. Wish they still had them where I live.
AWWWWW Poor Little Laura??? :(
Excelllent work, Adam! It’s nice to know that we can depend on you for good, clean, family entertainment. Keep ‘em coming.
So early to this one!! Love ya Adam, keep doing what you do!!
I ate at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank several times in 2012 for breakfast with John Draper aka Captain Crunch who made free phone calls using a Captain Crunch whistle and a blue box that used a 2600 hertz frequency, and who lived a few blocks over. The Chili Spaghetti is very good, I still have to try their hamburgers some day.
The statues name is Richard.... he is based off a young boy who was among the first customers to try the new double decker burger..... the boy's name was Richard Wooduff.... At least I THINK that was his last name. I read a book about iconic landmarks like the Big Boy statue many years ago.
He would come by to help out around the restaurant in exchange for food. The owner decided to name the hamburger after him.
Interesting! I didn't know he had a name!
Oh wow ! Thanks for the info
Rad I never knew this
@@kingedwin Yes, that's right.... and Bob Wian who started Big Boy, greeted Richard with "Hello, big boy." And it stuck.... Richard was six at the time, and an artist was commissioned to use Robert as the the cartoon image.
We have a Big Boy in indiana. It was not doing well before the virus but has opened for lunch and limited carry out
We have Frisch's Big Boy here in Ky & Ohio. Same mascot. Different Big Boy sauce. Tarter sauce.
Yes that's the way it is in Indiana where I'm from. They have the Swiss Miss burgers, Chili, and vanilla cola pop along with the Big Boys. Used to be Vanilla Coke that they mixed together, now I recall they switched to Pepsi, at least at the Richmond Indiana location where I go each year when I visit family. I like the burgers the way they have the tartar sauce. It's not what you expect on a burger when you typically use tartar sauce with seafood!
Always wanted to go to Bob's Big Boy. I heard that there is one in Fullerton. Also that is pretty smart of them using cones on the tables, so people don't sit on them. I wish they did that in Orange County. We have seen people seating outside at this little plaza in Ladera Ranch during our drive yesterday. Lastly, the Minon scene was cute; and I love Natalie's sweet voice. :)
or as it's known in Mexico, El Grande Nino de la Roberto
No seas mamon we
Very good we have Big Boys here but the name of it is Frishes Big Boy and the lady with you was very sweet to see you with her 💙
We use to go to Bobs after spending the day at Knotts. Good times.
Wow thats a commute. Im starving as soon as I leave Knott's..In n out is our spot off the 5 fwy.😋😋
Karyn,
I went to Grad NIte '89 at Disneyland and the following day we had breakfast at the Florence Ave. Bobs (Downeyl, SoCal) and then me and some guys went to see Batman because it opened that Friday..
I think we're in for carrying a backpack cleaning kit with us for awhile. I loved Bob's Big Boy when I lived there in Cali. Close to Burbank, Cali. We used to drive up from San Diego and stay a couple nights close to there. I'm ALL FOR MASK WEARING TO BE NATIONWIDE eventually. Do they still have the custom car nights before this virus thing came along? Jay Leno used to pop in there once in awhile on his TV show.
I miss Bob's Big Boy's "Silver Goblet". I wish they'd bring that item back.
Ditto!
Thanks Adam. Enjoying these new series.
Always good to see you Adam 😀LOVING this new food review segment! Take care and keep safe! 😷
Bob's Big Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miss it so much. Still buy their ranch and blue cheese dressing every time I go to the store. So jealous.
Beautiful Downtown Burbank,
Just like Rowan & Martin's
"Laugh-In!"
Burbank is no longer beautiful. It was just that when I used to go there on business in the 1970's but today, oh meo my. Don't go there if you don't speak Spanish. What a dump!

I know how to say ¡Beseme Culo! Quite Fluently, have logged a fair amount of time in Oakland's Fruitvale and SF's Mission over the years.
Great food, great friends , and a great life. You are an inspiration
haha ...love whenever you throw in the Wedding Singer "they were cones!" quote ...also, their chili spaghetti is my favorite. I always ask for the chopped onions on the side instead of directly on it cause to me it feels like they give more.
That’s what it was missing . The onions slipped my mind , next time for sure
For years and years, back when I lived and worked in that area, I ate at Bob's often. Great place. Love their chili spaghetti.
LMAO her voice changes from a 8 year old to a 30 year old randomly
😂💀😂💀
Like most petite girls lol
Right?! I was like "Why is she trying so hard to be cute?!! YIKES!!"
She seems like a nice escort
RissieK it sure seems that way lol
I live in Orange County also and I love watching all of these videos especially during the pandemic. I also really like it when you meet up with other youtubers sometimes I’ll watch both channels haha 😆 very good content!!! Keep it up I’m virtually socializing through you💖
Love bobs hope they stay afloat some locations have closed in recent times 🍔 the one in the west Covina mall parking lot closed down pretty quick 🍔 the one over our way that was right behind the lazy dog Cafe in orange didn't last either 🍔 one thing I really dig at bobs the ranch dressing so damn good I still buy it in the jar the grocery store by my house still sells it
I know the Burbank one is a historical landmark so looks like it’ll stick around . Thankfully cause it’s full of history and a wonderful place
I still buy the "Blue-Cheese Dressing at my local Lucky 's Market.
Try Bob's Roquefort salad dressing it's the best dressing in the world
@@mariawallin2008 look for Bob's Roquefort salad dressing yummy yummy yum yum
Visited there in 2013 the day of my father's funeral nearby. Was a good place to fondly remember the past.
How great is it to watch to friends breaking bread together! Warms the heart!!
Hi Adam the Woo. What a nice vlog. Thank you 4 letting us tag along with you & Natalie. Both of your meals looked very good. We lived in Memphis, TN when I was 1st born until right b4 I started kindergarten in Colo. We would go 2 Bob's Big Boy all the time. Loved their grill cheese & crinkle fries. We unfortunately do not have one here or any close 2 us. Continue 2 b safe, healthy & hopeful. Have a blessed rest of your Sunday & week ahead. 😇💕
Oh my beautiful Burbank. 😍 But what the heck was a patty doing in your chilly spaghetti?
It was confusing
Did you eat the party too?
It's a chili size. Google it.
I am glad you posted this. I had planned a trip to Southern California for this past April and planned to eat here and go to Disneyland. I probably won't get to do this again but enjoyed this video.
Here in the south Big Boy is "Shoney's home of the the Big Boy"
I remember Shoney's, but it seems like it's been forever since I've seen one.
@@supadoopa926 Shoney's has mostly gone out of business.
There is a few Shoney’s around. There is still a Shoneys in Brunswick, Ga.
Shoney’s are still in Tennessee too. I remember in Knoxville before the Worlds Fair the Big Boy statue was out front of the Shoney’s.
Here in Ohio it’s called Frischs Big Boy
I Love Bob's we used to have a couple in Las Vegas, NV. My grandma used to take me all the time and that is where my love if Chili Spaghetti comes from. Everytime I vacation in CA. I always have to go to that Bob's and eat some Chili Spaghetti really is personal nestoalgia. Cant wait to get to go back once the new normal starts. Loved the video, thanks Adam!
I’m in Ohio and here and surrounding areas we have Frisch’s Big Boy.
WHAT???
anyone remember satellite burgers in ohio? They were huge....
Big Boy was named after Richard Woodruff. It would make a great blog. I enjoy your blogs, today's was great, lovely lady with you as well..
It was Shoney's here! The restaurant closed decades ago but the Big Boy got "stolen" by local college kids on at least one occasion! I didn't know a Shoney's still existed in the world.
Shoney's was the franchise. They lost the Big Boy brand and switched to a Bear. In Georgia anyway
Ray Cook yeah it’s a bear in Mississippi too
Same in Virginia Beach.
Bob's Big Boy in Tampa, FL was THE hangout for teens back in the day. We would cruise around in our now "classic" cars to see and be seen. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
That’s awesome ! Bob’s is part of car culture for sure
You've ventured into Jay Leno territory. He runs the streets there , see?...
Saw him driving a classic car once around Burbank
@@TheDailyWoo he's always driving around Burbank or sun valley
I've met him at Cook's Corner, motorcyclist hangout by Trabuco Canyon. I sold him an enamel pin I'd bought at an airshow and had on my jacket, and he really wanted it so pin and $5 were exchanged. I expected him to be funnier than he actually was, but then when I'd run into him it was Sunday so it was a his day off *tishhhh boom* I'm here all week folks be sure to tip your server.
Im loving these 'foodie' vlogs Adam. Going to take notes ,so i know which spots to cross off my list. Visiting from Australia once the travel ban lifts.
His name is Bob & big boy refers to the hamburger. "They were cones!" The park looks nice!
Bobs big boy was made by my dad Bill Swan along with many other iconic fiberglass statues which are in new Amazon book for 14.99 called "The man behind the mufflerman".
That's awesome!
There is big Indian statue in Ayer Ma at the site of the now defunct Mohawk nightclub. These old fiberglass relics must be worth some money now!
I am part Italian and I can confirm that, yes we eat the salad last. My dad says its for good digestion. Lol
You eat salad after dessert?
@@lordflacko8232 after the main meal, then dessert with espresso. Lol
@@teresablais8005 okay thank God lol I was hoping you'd say that haha
I miss Bob's Big Boy so much, I live in Az and used to go there a lot as a kid, but sadly we don't have it here anymore.
Natalie seems sweet.
In Fort Worth, Texas it was Kip’s Big Boy . Family treat on Friday nite. Haven’t thought of that in years! Thx for bringing back the memories :)
I actually saw Drew Carry in that diner a long time ago and he was wearing a baseball cap to be incognito 😊 didn't bother him though, just smiled an kept to myself.
So cool! I’m sure he appreciated it
Yep, I sat a few chairs down from him at the counter. He had steak & eggs and wheat toast.
Small world. I saw him in there once as well.
There was a time when Drew ate at this Bob's almost every day, at least once a day. This is over a decade ago at this point, so I can't vouch for any sightings since then. Really nice guy. Would leave a (minimum) 20 dollar tip, even if all he ordered was coffee.
I have seen him there a couple times all by himself. He must be a regular. Seemed like a nice guy.
Looked like a nice meal from Bob’s, thanks for sharing 👍
good food choice. Yes you need more than "1" hair cut! 😁 Hey Natalie, I notice your mask may be a little big for your cute petite face, because you adjust it often. I suggest you get a child's size large mask instead of an adult size .I too have a small face and it worked for me. 😊peace
Been going there for about 40 years. Loved the burgers and the spaghetti! They also had bottomless drinks.
Loved this one Adam. Maybe that was a flat meatball on the bottom of your spaghetti 😅😅
Ha possibly
I miss Bob's Big Boy burgers! We don't have one around here anymore. Have a wonderful, magical week Adam.
love seeing you go out to restaurants, and showing the food !!!! its the thing I miss most during the shutdown... hopefully soon we can go back in and eat in the booths ..thank you!
HELLO I LIVE IN BURBANK SO GREW UP WITH BOB'S THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME WAS BOB WIAN AND YES THE BURGER COMES WITH THE DISH THAT YOU HAD THANKS FOR THE REVIEW!
I’m in Ohio and it’s called Frisch’s Big Boy here. I’m pretty sure the statue is named Big Boy. Another Ohio fact, the spaghetti style you ordered is classic Cincinnati cuisine.
Why do restaurant chains change their name when they move across country?
As a kid in the south I always remembered them as Bobs till I seen them as Frisch's travelling through Ohio. Some wilde franchising happened with Big boy resturants - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Boy_Restaurants
They're not the same chain. Big Boy was originally franchised like Kentucky Fried Chicken when the Colonel first started doing it, whereby an already established restaurant would license the name and product and sell it as a menu item. There were several different chains that licensed Big Boy, but the only one's left are Bob's, Frisch's and Shoney's as far as I know.
Frisch’s Big Boy has tartar sauce and Bob has Thousand Island.
Cincinnati Chili has cinnamon in the sauce, and they typically serve it with graded cheese over spaghetti. Skyline is the top chain in the Midwest, and sells packets of the mix in the grocery store. There's a very active Bib Boy right off the I-94 freeway in Stevensville, MI. The one in South Bend, IN is long gone, but the tile floor is still intact.
I was really little when my parents and grandmother took me to Bob's Big Boy, near the roundabout, it was good when I went there. The thing I got since I was little was the mini burger with cheese. I can't really remember all the details but, I'm now thinking that they left something off the meal and messed something up. It was good until that point, but, I love the iconic nature of these restaurants, are they restaurants or fast food? IDK. The filming locations in that restaurant is quite interesting and very amusing. Stay safe Adam and Natalie and sanitize greatly!
I like this series! Keep it up Adam!
Miss living in Anaheim and going to the parks and eating at Bob's big boy some 30 years ago now
He was a chubby boy named Richard Woodruff who did chores in exchange for bergers
Another excellent video thank you for helping me experience places and things that are interesting. Also that's Cincinnati chili when you have chili on spaghetti I recently learned, very tasty I must say.
Ahh, Burbank .,home of the flying fickle of fate awards.
Mike Ginn You have to be a certain age to understand your post.
Isn't it weird that we automatically complete the phrase in our heads "flying fickle finger of fate"
glad to see they are around in some form. My grandparents used to take my brother and I in the late 70s/early 80s
9:37 Thats where the Animaniacs live
Was waiting for them to pop out of there. 😆
Wayne Simons 😆
Only when they get caught!
Wow, great vlog of the iconic Bob's big Boy!! Anyone here remember Sambo's Restaurant? My dad was the manager of two of them, in Paramount, Ca. and in Granada Hills, Ca. They got up to 1,000 restaurants nationwide in the late 1970's, then went under. The original one from 1957 still exists on First Street in Santa Barbara, Calif!.
Interesting series , you should definitely do the classic car night and vlog as would be cool to see . Your friend seems nice always nice to see you out without everyone vlogging lol
Another fun vlog!!! Looks like a beautiful day! ❤️
We don't have Big Boy here we've got Shoney's!
Going to be driving thru Kokomo Indiana tomorrow. Got a RV to deliver in Indy. I enjoy your videos and I will watch for other places to visit when traveling.
Oh nice ! Say hi to the Kokomantis
The movie "Heat" starring Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer and a little known actor, named Al Pacino Lol
I grew up in the antelope valley and we had a bobs big boy. My grandmother used to take us to them all over LA and the valley. I’d get the kids burger.. that relish they put in them was delicious! Nice park to enjoy your food as well.
I liked the video but you guys weren’t distancing from each other. 🤔 I would imagine that since you guys don’t live together you should be doing that.
Hi Adam thank you for sharing. I had no idea that Bobs Big Boy was still around. Great video.
My daughters and I went there back in 2008, and sat in the Beatles corner, bliss. Thanks Adam. My favorite is the Boy's Big Boy Burger, which I have consumed a lot of since 1961.Oh Yum.
Love Bobs Big Boy Burbank! I often work writing music for Warner Bros and I hit up Bob’s super early for breakfast, great start to a day! Wonderful CLASSIC diner feel inside when open in usual non Covid Times:)
I'm 98% sure you had an "adverse reaction" to the spaghetti with chili...😄
