The Pastor in the church I recently left did a video update this week. He explained they would not be wearing collars or robes during services. They want to be one of the guys and not stand apart. It was very disappointing. They are in a leadership position and are not one of the guys.
Excellent Presentation! I am a retired minister. I only wear the collar for special sacrdotal functions. In my opinion, clergy should be very educated in the history and meaning of the collar.
What you have stated here is what we as believers are all called to do not just so-called official ministers perhaps there is a sermon there for you to enlist the body of believers to do what we are all called to do, what a difference this would make
The USCCB mandates the collar as streetwear for all her ministers. Thankfully other Episcopal conferences haven't adopted same. So I have the opportunity to pick out from 5 different shades of Khaki 😅
Strange to pop up from so long ago, but also from wikipedia it originates in the Church of Scotland/Presbyterian (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clerical_collar). Not sure why everyone thinks it's Roman Catholic

I did not know the symbolism for it, that is very interesting and pretty cool.
