I still don't understand why the Lakers would throw away all of their depth for a star guard. Obviously, Spida has been better than Russ the past 4 seasons, but we've seen how important depth is, especially when your main stars are Bron and AD.
if the lakers fall into the name chasing trap again that they and many others teams have, that team will be ruined again

That Orlando-Atlanta deal is a steal for the Magic. In what universe would the Hawks deal the only star their franchise has had in like 30 years for unproven young talent and two horrendous late first round picks. It's not like superstars are lining up to sign with the Hawks nor have they ever had a reputation at drafting well.
Trae young’s impact is clinically underrated overall. The idea that his (slightly below average, not even bad) defense mitigates the absolute juggernaut he is offensively is so stupid and lame.

Maybe those unproven young players haven't gotten the opportunity to show what they can really do yet. They could probably break out if they were traded to the Hawks.

Idk Mikal is 2 years younger has 2 years left on his contract and would free up 8 million in cap space, plus I would say he’s a MUCH better fit along side Brunson. Also mikal and OG as your top 2 defenders on the perimeter with Mitchel Robinson behind them would be an insane defense
That would be the result of the Nets-Knicks trade tax.

Tbh they wouldn’t do it - they’d go from a great defense and bad offence to mid on both sides. They’re looking for some 3 point shooting, and will probably throw some money at a starting guard in free agency like Malik monk and dlo

I think the Mikel bridges trade is def an overpay, but also worth it. The way Brunson is playing the Knicks don’t need another ball dominant player, having og and Mikel to terrorize opposing offenses while both being able to spark and create for themselves when needed would be a crazy lineup.
although I love brandon ingram, him being on an expiring contract will make him quite tough to trade

Aren't most or all of the Nets firsts either traded or swapped for the next chunk of years still? If so that's why you don't tank because you get no value out of tanking.

Trae just isn’t worth 3 unprotected firsts + good young player(s). The Orlando trade is pretty decent but maybe a little lacking, even though Anthony Black and Jett Howard are pretty good young players. If it’s the Spurs, it’s 2-3 firsts and maybe Keldon Johnson/Sochan

Randle doesn’t perform in the playoffs, if NY are ever to be a serious contender then Randle needs to be traded

Pelicans:Garland
Add whatever picks you want I don’t care
1) Hawks-Pelicans: Stalemate. Ingram is an upgrade for the Hawks, but Murray is a downgrade for the Pelicans. Idk much about Hawkins, but he and Bogdanovic aren't too different in terms of play style from what I understand.
2) Knicks-Nets trade: bad for both sides. Randle is better than Bridges, but neither player is really good enough to build around. Bridges is not worth four picks, especially not given his underwhelming performance this year. The Nets should be looking for younger or more tradable players to go along with the picks.
3) Kings-Bulls trade: almost good for Sacramento, questionable for Chicago. Sacramento should trade for Caruso ALONE. Davion Mitchell and the picks are cool, but they don't need the vets unless they're gonna immediately trade them for more assets.
4) Hawks-Magic trade: Good, but questionable for both sides. Trae helps improve the Magic's offense, he's not as bad defensively as many people claim, and he has good defenders who can mask his weaknesses. However, they would be giving up Issac, arguably their best defender (although his health is a concern). Also, how much does Trae improve them? The potential of Black and Howard is up in the air for the Hawks. They would probably trade Isaac for more assets given his defensive prowess. The picks probably won't be that good.

The Lakers at least have to add the 2031 pick as well in that trade. I'm pretty sure that opens up this offseason. Still don't think it would be enough.

Ingram, a really good scorer with a solid all around game, and Hawkins, a young shooter with a good amount of off the dribble potential, for DeMurray, who at this stage in his career isn't elite at any one thing, and Bogdan, a rock solid all around wing, just doesn't make sense to me. Trading offense to upgrade your versatility is neat and all, but this doesn't seem like a positive move, lateral at best, since you're downgrading from Ingram to Murray to upgrade from Hawkins to Bogdan

If im the Cavs and Mitchell signs a max extension im trading Garland to the heat for Jaime Jaquez Jr,Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin and a 1st round pick in like 2028, ik that seems like a lot for DG cause he has been injured and under performing this season but i feel like Garland with that heat culture with Bam,Jimmy and Erik Spoe as the coach will make him a 24-25 ppg scorer while averaging 9-10 assists thats enough to be an All-Star starter, now the next trade i will do if Mitchell signs the extension is Allen to the Mavs for 2 1st round picks and PJ Washington, ik this also seems like a lot but when Garland and Mobley went out Allen was probably a Top 5 big men in the league averaging 24 ppg and 14 rebound he is also one of the best pick and roll and shot blocking bigs in the NBA i think Allen is a player that would fit it well with Luka and Kyrie. Let me know if i cooked with this or not

DG would thrive with Jimmy,Bam and Spoe as the coach having a young pg who can possibly average 24-25 ppg and average like 9-10 assists a game and open up plays for Jimmy and Bam is better to have than an injury prone Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin and Jaime Jaquez who both only average like 10-11 ppg

Imagine giving up a player who can basically give you the same production, even tho he is a worse scorer he is way better defensively and can give you more when it comes to playmaking for the team, and plays more every year, and another guy that gonna give you 15/16ppg shooting well from 3, for a guy that gonna play 80% of the season at best.... Lottery here we come

It’s because the understanding around the league is that the Cavs have no leverage in a trade situation. It’s why the Mavs were able to trade for Kyrie with Dinwiddie DFS and 1 unprotected pick because Kyrie already told Brooklyn that he would walk no matter what. Of course Brooklyn is also just an awful organization, but it wouldn’t shock me to see the same thing happen with Mitchell
Johnathan Isaac is really under-appreciated. The magic should do everything possible to keep him around. For what he gives he’s so valuable
As a Pelicans fan, that first trade is dumb. Zion is our franchise player, but BI is number two easy. I understand BI needs to get paid, but I don’t see why we wouldn’t pay him.
So many times BI has saved us in games, yes we need a PG, but giving up BI and Hawkins for Murray? No I don’t think that is good. I could be underestimating Murray I know, but that’s how highly I think BI is to this team.
If we trade anyone, it’ll be CJ and Larry Nance Jr., I honestly would rather Trae Young. We need a closure and Trae has shown to be just that, along with being a PG and his two man game with Zion and a triple threat screen adding BI or one of our shooters would be amazing!

So heres the thing... The Lakers trade would be good had they picked almost anybody but Rui. Reaves isnt on the same level as Spida and is honestly an overrated player imo. But Rui has been too valuable on both sides of the ball this season to make the trade seem right.
