i bought the om pro s and i love it. it tracks amazing and sounds great... i'm no audiophile, but for DJing these will do the job great for a budget stylus! they sound better than my AT95E cart
Now I look at the pink scratch specs.. they were also 15kHz frequency response!! It's weird that they say the range is 20kHz but response is 15kHz.. that threw me. I never realised it had that cut off!! "Frequency range: 20-20.000 Hz Frequency response: 20-15.000 Hz +3/-2 dB". After listening to all your samples, I have to think the Concorde Mk2 DJ is probably the best sound. Best bass, mid and treble sound. The Pro w Scratch and Pro w Qbert is nice, and the OM Scratch is BETTER sound than the Mk2 Concorde Scratch (which is bizarre). The Pro S is a bit weak in its vanilla form. But buying different carts and styli is expensive so may as well just go with the Mk2 DJ which seems to have the best sound (unless it has some weird issues with scratching etc.. but you'd expect it should be fine). You might have sold me on some Concordes for the first time since my Nightclub got stolen heh.
Meanwhile Phase is delayed till January. I have lost all confidence in that company and ill be sticking to needles till a reliable company comes up with a better solution than Phase. Thanks for the review!
If Ortofon had any competent engineers, they would make that cartridge weight integrate with the bottom of the mount so the nuts would countersink and hold into the metal. That way you only need a screwdriver to mount them.
So you weren’t into the Q-Berts for 45s? Dang, I was about to cop a set. I’ve been using the old m44-7 for years and am due to swap so I’ve been trying to figure out my next step. I drop the occasional northern set, but I’m mostly out there playing 60s reggae, JA blanks and UK labels. I read that the ‘subdued high-end’ is good for the rougher ones that you get out of JA, as well as the low-wear. What am I to do!
I have the old yellow Nightclub tips. Does anyone remember if they came with their own cartridges? Or do all Ortofon tips work on regular OM Pro headshells?
The OM series are perfect. The home/hifi version 2M is just a rebranded and redesigned version. Apparently the old OM styluses (styli?) can be mounted on the 2Ms and viceversa. I'm also really annoyed that the Concorde mk2s are not compatible with the old Concordes.
Hey mojaxx. I’m replacing my 44-7’s and I need an all around cartridge for mixing and a lot of scratching. I can’t really afford two different carts for each of my turntable, and I’m wondering what you’d recommend I get out of these. I need to get an om, and I was really thinking about buying the om qberts, but I’m worried about record wear, do you think I’d see any increased wear in contrast with the pro s?
I see you've installed white(spider) stylus on OM cartridge - what's tracking force in this setup? (Can it works with 2g tracking force? My tonearm is not configurable)Do you have an experience with other styluses with this cartridge?
So the Qberts are specifically only for turnbalist who sratch and jungles only? For someone who plays digital vinyl, mostly hip hop tracks and some electro music by side, who is also sratching and jungling within the set as well in a club environment. What about this scenario? Do the Qberts one fit or not in this kind of scenario?
Idea!! Incorporate and somehow stick an LED light [different colours] in that 'long nose' of the 'stylee', and Ortofon will smash it! Dominate the market like Shure did in the 80's>90's. That'll give the incoming 'digital clan' , and us vinyl junkies something to marvel at, and hold on the nostalgia of playing on wax! Love your reviews. Peace ✌
@@samuelgarrod8327By an LED light incorporated inside say a transparent cartridge maybe, or a light source built in that illuminates part of the headshell. Im working on it....👍
MojaxxVDJ Hey Mojaxx Thanks for the quick reply but I also want to say that I enjoy watching your videos especially the background of the transformers and robots that are behind you. Also that Numark EM 260 mixer that you have there, I have that mixer and to me it is a great mixer ( not for scratching but for mixing) but I now own a Rane 62 and I’m very happy with it. Keep up the good work ✌️
monomerx001 Still have a pair of those myself... Annoyingly, they’re the only original Concorde/OM which wont work with other styli from the range. So when they are gone, they’ll really be gone.
Best Tip Ever !!! Don't ever buy an Ortofon cartridge, the company is scum. You can not visit their website without accepting all their cookies so they can track you and try to sell you more products. If you do buy anything from Ortofon they will hound you every time you open your web browser. Yes, you can, visit their site then delete their twenty seven cookies they put in your computer each time you visit, but you will be a lot better off just not going to their website. Just buy any of a dozen other better cartridges. Have you ever been to a website that will not let you look at anything on the site until you knuckle under and agree to their tracking policy ? That's Ortofon. The slimy bastards

Hi Mo, great video as always.
question; why do you prefer the digital one for playing vinyl? cheers
I love Ortofon carts and stylus,... also very much digging that G1 Metroplex you have back there. \m/ \m/
Malikon what’s the best Ortofon OM needle just to listen to music. No dj?

yo Mojaxxx, for scratching and active mixing digital and analog, OM Qbert is the correct choice?

Are OM and concords mk2 tips interchangeable?
Which one would be best for mixing old skool hardcore rave music from early 90’s, scratch or dj mk 2 ?
Miss the Stanton 500s and 680hp :( bring them back!
@Cheesy Helmet lol yeah i have a pair of them right now you have to be extremely careful when scratching coz itl skip super easy
Nah they were okay, but. I used them for years and but only because I couldnt afford concorde or shure.
@@Paidonthedaily i still use a gold 500 for hifi use with NOS styli when i see them. beautifully open sound
Hi Folks. Just bought the pro s qbert. Now... why should i use the additionally weight? I balanced the tonearm. Put 3 gr. on it. For me its the same.

How can you spin Phaaex, Lime, Bobby O,People Like Us, Tapps and Tyrants In Therapy without a stylus?

Important question What styli will work on the ortofon s-120
Can I replace the Scratch stylus and put it on the Qbert body?
I cant get my OM Qberts to not skip. Ive set them up accordingly on a Vestax pdx3000. how long is the break in time on these things?

I love this cartridge (OM) , it's not as great as Audio Technica bit DAMN it's cheaper than the 2M

Berner Salvador Probably the OM Pro S, really. It’s got the most neutral sound of the three, which I always prefer for ripping.

Nice one Mojaxx, this is relevant to me having a Rega modded SL1200, so thx as per!
