to spend 5 hours beating this game casually and then to watch this is insane. idk if not fully prohibiting players from using the shortcut to get from the dungeon to the underbelly at the beginning was intentional, but the dev is a genius if it was (they're still a genius for making this game regardless)
i tried speedrunning it with an xbox controller. it's definitely possible. it broke after one run though. iirc you have to press the right trigger and then fling the toggle up and down three times in succession really really fast before jumping.
I don't exactly know the exact technique, but you can end a slide early by hitting the slide button again along with jump to put Sibyl in this gliding state that can be jump canceled, and then you do the side flip (turn 180 and jump as Sybil is sliding) and the momentum from the slide carries into the flip.
@@Solbashio very anti-speedrunning if that's true ; it's all about collectively getting a game's time as low as possible, not clinging to some pseudo-"world record"
Who's to say grabbing every single item is the only intended path? Especially in a game where sequence breaks are about as common as squirrels in a city

Its a classic Metroidvania trope, it was present in Super Metroid.
@@crookycumbleswhat's the name of the skip/shortcut?
And here my ass is taking 10 hours to beat the game bc my reptile brain cant navigate without a map
Same bruh 😵💫

Using the cling gem to glitch through walls is something I never would have thought of. Genius!

Huge run! I havent ever seen anyone do the jump you did to get the cling gem
Thumbnail is CHEECKED
Is this even remotely possible with a controller? Those slide jumps looked flawless
ikr those ultra slide hops were just immaculate.

Probably something to do with getting around the double bind rule.
How are you slide jumping without the slide jump ability?
im def speedrunning this
D***, that's nice. I'm still trying to get the rest of the d*** keys. I only need the one. Can't find the Second key
Ok. Now Speed Run it, Playing the Game AS INTENDED by grabbing All Objects and Upgrades. Let's see your Record Stand up to that, "Speed Runner".
That is called a 100% run
Certified bruh moment, bro never seen glitch runs nor does know about any%
Try to do run like this, and then dare to complain again, smartass
Who's to say grabbing every single item is the only intended path? Especially in a game where sequence breaks are about as common as squirrels in a city
Whatever you say, little guy
