Excellent machine and very nearly bought one. Went for the Husqvarna 535LK in the end due to the extra power! The Stihl does have a more flexible hedge trimming head though!! If finances go well, I may get one. You can never have too many tools!!!
Just purchased a stihl hedge trimmer from aps machinery. Rob made the experience a breeze knowledgeable guy great prices . would reccomend and be buying from him again. Steve
Hi Steve Thank you for your custom was great talking to you and I will be looking forward to doing business with you in the near future. If there is any question I'm happy to help and hope you enjoy your new tool :)
I bought a stihl chainsaw from these people a little while ago, they insisted on assembling it for me as stihl want their dealers to pdi the machines before giving them to the buyers, so I paid for it, took it to the job, climber the tree and made a few cuts, then, the chan bar dropped off mid cut, they had forgotten to tighten the chan bar nuts ! Great pre delivery inspection guys ! Just great !
Hi Paul Sorry to hear that. There's not much that I can say to your message, but would only presume that tree surgeons always check there tools are in working order before climbing the tree. If there is any damage to the guide bar please come in to speak to one of the fully trained staff at Aps
Thanks for the informative videos, I’ve just bought the Strimmer attachment from APS for this combi. This is a nice tool, light enough as a strimmer for my wife to use and easy to start. I use a big strimmer like the one hanging up on the left but this is too big for my wife, Very pleased with the combi system. Wish I had discovered APS before as certainly the cheapest I could find the strimmer attachment @ around 130 delivered.
Aps Garden Machinery no thank you Rob, everything plus goodies turned up next morning so I couldn’t have been happier. I am pleased to find you and I will be speaking to you about anything I need in the future best regards

Hi Jeremy the HL94 unfortunately doesn't have the trigger lock. Though what I have seen by other garden contractors is using a cable tie that you can slide over the trigger to hold it place.
@@ApsGardenMachinery thank you for your swift reply! I was going to go look into buying one today but I think I will hold off. I hope they reintroduce the trigger lock in the future, the HL 100 models are hard to come by these days.
Majority of Stihl Products are built for professional use and the HL 94 longreach hedgetrimmer is one of them. If you are going to use it for long length of time all I can recommend is to keep the blades lubricant and use the HP super engine oil as well as buy the E5 petrol from main stream petrol stations ie Bp, Esso and Shell
Hi Matt 172cm without the hedgetrimmer blade attached. If you look at my video explaining how to exchange the heads with a FS91R I will show you how to take off the hedgetrimmer blade ua-cam.com/video/LRSdu8TJbWU/v-deo.html I hope this helps? Rob
Morning you can only remove the head from the shaft of a HL94, though you may want to look at the Stihl Kombi range as you are able to split the unit in half. i have copied a link to give you more details. www.apsgardenmachinery.com/product/Stihl-KM111-R-Professional-Kombi-Engine/12169167
@Aps Garden Machinery thank you cheers. It looks like only the pro saws and some leafblowers are made in Germany. I also took your advice and have moved back to stilh hp super. Its a far better oil in every way. Have a good day 👍🏻
Got two of these...atm one of them is leaking black oil from the muffler I’ve taken it into service but it’s still leaking!! I also find the cutting heads rattle (all 3 Stihl heads are the same) and there’s a lot of play in the blades which isn’t apparent on the cobra or echo hedge cutter heads..I’ve checked all the bolts to make sure the cutting bar is secure but it still rattle terribly (it’s also always lubricated with grease and still does it)...not sure why these issues are happening, any ideas would be greatly appreciated👍
Good Morning I would like to answer your question to the blade issue, but I can only recommend for you to take it to your local Stihl dealer. As one of our trained staff would advice you once we have examined the rattling what is the best solution to repair or replace.
Aps Garden Machinery thank you for the reply, it’s much appreciated...my first option was to take it to the dealer to see if anything needed repair/ replacing but it seems odd that all the cutting heads are the same...I’m not sure why Stihl changed their cutting heads over recent years as the older heads never rattled!! I find that the play in the heads gives a false impression that the blades are blunt when I feel it’s simply the gap between them!!
Yes I agree they have reduced the power as Stihl think that it doesn't need the power to trimmer hedges?! If you do prefer the need of power look at the FS91R brushcutter as you can change the heads from strimmer to hedgetrimmer or pole saw?

And you didn't notice the bar was loose while checking the chain tension? You DID check and set the chain tension of a new chain before using it?

Would this be the same as getting a KM94 with the HL KM attachment? Thanks
Yes it would be!
Does the HL 94 have a trigger lock like the HL 100 has? I trim professionaly and a trigger lock is necessary for the amount of trimming I do in a day.

Hi Rob I was thinking about buying that model for hedges and bushes, is that a commercial/professional model?
Absolutely a great bit of kit, you want go wrong buying the Stihl HL94 Long reach hedgetrimmer
@@ApsGardenMachinery thanks very much, so it's a pro model then?
@@ApsGardenMachinery is it a German made machine or usa?
@@6900pilot It's good enough to be amongst there pro range
Do you know the length of the machine when the blades are folded in like you have in the video?

The Length is approximately 240cm when the blade is folded out in the cutting action.
good infos, thanks
Does the shaft split for transporting? That’s a long unit for the back of my defender 90. I have 1.50 metres max. L

You would be able to take apart the cutting head and engine from the shaft if needed. the standard length with the cutting blade closed is 170cm
Can you switch between short shaft and long shaft?
Possible you would need to order the long shaft assembly
What is the country of manufacture for this machine? Cheers.
It's a German company
@Aps Garden Machinery I know that, but some are built in usa and some in Brazil and in China. It should say on the machine where its made?

Unfortunately you cannot add a meter shaft to the HL94

Hi Rob looking to purchasing a new machine could I send you my email for more information and deal you have on this regards David

so underpowerd compared to the hl75

Stihl were wrong, there are many hedges that do need the extra power, I'll be sticking with the HL100
I have this model and also the Honda 4 stroke combi tool I find the Honda a much better machine
