Hi Paul , very nice content ,currently my reporting boss is expecting exactly the same from me, wants me to be commercial than only being financial reporting
You're a legend bro. I have 3 months where I've moved into a Financial Management Role which also seems to be a mixture of Financial Reporting and also Financial Analyst but I'm also required to sort of help the commercial teams whenever they need assistance. I would like to have a further conversation bro since you seem to have extensive knowledge on this matter. Thanks for the content. Truly appreciated.
Great video. I’ve got my ACA finals myself this summer and trying to figure out my path, post-qualification. Couple of questions if I may: 1) what made you move away from a commercial role? 2) I work in a top 100 firm with varied exposure (accounts, audit, personal/business tax, mgmt accs etc). I understand the benefit of having a big 4 on my CV but struggle to see much benefit in moving to say an audit senior role at EY if I want to move into commercial finance (other than exposure to bigger clients). What would you say could be a great role in a big firm, that would be a good setup for a move into commercial finance?
How have you found career progression having made the transition over to industry, do you think your experience in audit at a large firm has/is aiding progressing to more senior roles in industry? Considering when to make the shift myself.
It will depend on the company you move to. I do think if the company is smaller to medium size it is harder to move up as there is simply less positions to move to - u kinda have to rely on other people leaving to free up space. This is why i have moved companies a few times - to give myself more experience.
Hi Paul great video an it was a great insight could you guide me for some interns that i can get in India or Gulf with some handsome remuneration coz I am married an want to grow my earnings with a good carrier growth
Thank you, useful. I've recently accepted a commercial finance analyst role

Hi Paul, in a new job how much handover is reasonably expected if not directors role? Is there a general rule of thumb for the job market?
