Tank’s ring IQ is amazing. We see at the start of most of his fights, he loses rounds and gets caught a little , all he is doing in these opening rounds is downloading the opponents information and looking for a way to counter. Tank’s ability also go put offensive pressure, still pay attention to defence & to stay bouncing on his feet pressuring is amazing, not only an incredible boxer but an amazing athlete also. If you look at boxer’s such as Isaac Cruz & Canelo who are also pressure fighters, you see that they are flat footed , causing them to get caught a little when trying to close the distance. The pressure that Tank puts on his opponents by being athletic and giving them a sense of uncertainty of whats next due to his brutal power & accuracy. Not only does it wear opponents out physically, but psychologically & mentally too. People that have boxed know that when you are always thinking about what you’re opponent will do next and you’re worried it drains your energy much faster then throwing punches. What an amazing fight & what an amazing fighter Gervonta is! Can’t wait to see what he does in the future! 💯

There's a reason Gervonta "Tank" Davis is my favorite boxer since Mike Tyson of the mid-80's! I must admit, i got on the bus late, about three or four years ago, but to realize that he has been boxing since the age of five and had a record of 205-15 as an amateur, explains why he is dominating the way he is. Tank said four times, as an amateur he came to Vegas to see Floyd fight and had to sit so high, his head was hitting the rafters. Th work Tank has put in over the years, reminds me of Mike Tyson, when he spoke about running, jogging and exercising in the wee hours of the morning, when he first started boxing and people would literally drive by him, as he jogged, because he was unknown! Tank said, he used the fact that he had to sit in the rafters to motivate him, put that work in when no one was paying any attention! There are two boxers, I followed religiously...Mike Tyson and Pernell Whitaker, I can comfortably and proudly add Gervonta "Tank" Davis, as the third.
p.s. I was a toddler when Ali fought after his prime, so I truly never seen Ali fight live, only those of the mid-70's, 80's, 90's and 00's with the exception of the years the sport lost me as a fan!
