Hi There, I have one of these xrange box and be interested what you used for the details for putty access. I keep getting access denied. I’m either entering wrong login or password or both? Be interested in what you used? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the video. currently have the flight stick but ive heard good things about these so ive purchased one. the only issue is the router is in another room of my house and i cannot move it. my bedroom has all my scanners monitors etc set up and outside my window is my mast where my D777 is attached and where i intend to fix the ADSB Antenna. so what I'm wondering is the bridge you mentioned.... would this allow me to have the xrange in my room? any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, I want to if you can help me set up my RadarBox X range 2 and I have signed up, and they have put me onto business for fee I have checked over everything and mine just keeps coming up. No data round green circle but there’s no splat
what your receiver catches, goes direct to the Radarbox server , which uses " your " data first .... This is not really " your " receiver then, but a Radarbox receiver that you paid for, which feeds the Radarbox server , from which your own computer is fed ...This is not my conception of a receiver, which should be used only by me and for my own information only, not for a private company using the data I collect with an equipment I paid and set up !
Well, you’re kinda right but also wrong. If you don’t want to feed their servers then you don’t have to. You can take the data from one of the network ports and feed into something like Virtual Radar Server running on your computer. Therefore you would be viewing ONLY your data and not sharing it with anyone else.
Well, if you need Virtual Radar Server to visualize your own data, isn't it misleading to say that all software and hardware is included? There really is no software to view your catches on your own website like you would get with adsbexchange or flightradar using RPI and tar1090... This is an appliance for Radarbox, not for one's tinkering which I would guess would be half the reason people here get into this in the first place. Also in the box it says MLAT, does it do MLAT by itself (alog with other stations I would get) or does it receive the MLAT locations on the feedback from Radarbox? (Probably).
You mentioned your ADS-B outdoor antenna, yours does look a solid bit of kit, but I see its ~£50 - where other ADS-B 5db antennas are more like £25. Have you tried other ADS-B antennas to compare? Else I'm tempted by 8db 1.2m ADS-B antenna at £50.
I do have a couple of other ADSB antennas, one which cost around 300 euros, which I will test once I’ve left this installation running for a few weeks. :)
I’m looking for something similar to this, but for movement detection at ground level. Anybody know of any device or anything that could be used for that purpose?
I know that I can use APRS, on my HT to see where my buddies are at. I’m talking about using the device like this one, to pick up on movement at ground level like radar. Something, that they don’t know about?
@@analytic85 this is not seeing the planes themselves like a radar would, it's picking up beacons being transmitted from the planes and plotting the data they send on a map. Same principal as APRS.
Thanks for clearing that up.I kind of flew by the video. Without paying attention like I should have. So yeah, that still something interesting I will look into. I was looking for something that’s more of a stand alone portable radar. I don’t know if there’s anything out there that’s affordable, for the consumer really. If so, maybe he can find it and post a video!
It is a very odd shape, it is almost as if the offset to expose the Ethernet port exactly where it would be if you were using a bog standard raspberry pi board...
Nice box. But asking for a company to force me to share for an account I get free .. NO. NOT EVER. My sdr equipment (cheap or expensive) does not access the internet.

Be good to have either a bracket for it, or keyholes for screws, to allow it to be wall mounted.

Great video as always👍
thankfully they allow you to access the data locally, because if they abandon or decide to charge for their portal you are stuffed
Take a look inside of it
You'd be pissed if you did after dropping 300 quid on it...

I wonder how this compares to my current setup with a pi.
exactly the same, it is a Pi lol

Nice work

APRS can be used to share location information
Not sure if that's what you're asking
