Robert, I hesitated to send this info since your experience with the Rovan 71 may be different than mine - I hope! Mine broke the pullstart very quickly. Low end power was massive, but it had no high rpm at all. I geared my Baja way up and it still pulled the wheels up with just a tap on the throttle every time! But- even my friends noticed it wasn't any faster than my 36cc bajas. It used easily twice as much gas, was really loud and quickly became a "novelty" vehicle. I own 4 bajas, 36 and 45cc, plus 3 other type gassers. I was still happy with it until compression started going away and with less than 1 total hour of run time it was a very expensive paperweight. I was extremely careful in break in and tuning, running 91 octane and Castrol 777 at 25-1. None of my other motors have melted down on me, and I HAVE abused the hell out of some of them. Btw, I live in Florida. For the record, my favorite chinese motor by far (for the price) is the Rovan 45cc. I have 2 of these, 1 in a Hannibal monster truck pulling 10lbs of tires (4.5 kg or so?) which I have absolutely thrashed in 90* plus temps, still runs like new. Also put one in a Baja, it pulls the wheels up almost like the 71, BUT makes good rpm and outruns everything else I own, again go tall on gearing for sure. I hope your experience is different with the 71, if it melts down pick up a 45 and you will be happy. The Rovan 45cc is ABSOLUTELY NOT to be compared with Taylor 45ccs and other big dollar motors, but for $270 US it's incredible and Rovan (" Fearless " now) has come out with a huge pipe designed specifically for it. Have fun, and good luck! Glen
Excellent vid! I just finished tidying up my 5t. Went with a Taylor chassis and the 40gt engine. Absolutely love it! You have some beautiful builds there bud!
Work of art and put the time in on the build and its most rewarding at the end and doing it different to other people builds its stands out more. Thanks buddy
Dude you got some awesome rigs ,very nice do you run them ? I built a hpi savage nitro blinged it all out , then found out I didn't like to get it dirty. Just got my first Baja ,will bling it just a little. Also what do you think about sway bars for the Baja ? Do they make a difference in the way they handle? Thanks for your vids
Yes I do run them which very soon, I be doing another video on a new pipe and later doing another video shoot out of the two Rovan 71cc 5B and my other 5T with rcmax 71cc all three in in a straight drag to show people the difference in speed
