Hey Jack, quick question - I'm currently looking to purchase my first daily driver with a manual gearbox, and I'd like something sporty. I haven't had a lot of experience with manual transmission cars. What's the 180SX like for a driver who hasn't had a lot of experience driving a manual transmission vehicle before?
From the range of manual cars I have driven they all feel roughly the same. The only real difference is the clutch. I have a heavy duty clutch in mine, which is a lot more unforgiving but can handle a lot of abuse. But if the 180sx has a normal clutch then it will be easy enough to learn on.
This was my first car as well back in 2002! I had the sr20det version. Did just about everything to it except internals (bigger turbo, FMIC, exhaust, boosted etc... I don't know why you would choose to build a CA motor I'd go with the SR all the way!
I knew the previous owner of this car, many a fun night we had! Couple of problems with what was said in the narration, -180sx's did come non turbo. -unless he plans on it being a track only car, no way he will be able to keep it registered with a ca. Illegal to have an engine type older than the car.
both SRs and CAs can reliably make decent power with bolt ons and supporting mods. But the CA is a much lower cost. when it comes to buying my new engine I'll see whats for sale at the time and make my judgement based off that.
Have you seen Mobnes Nissan 200sx s13? He built himself a 703hp ca18det, the engine was bullet proof according to him. What went first was the gear-box.
@@SwitchG.3 Not really, is not that cheap especially europe, easy but expensive to maintain because of rare parts, i dont say that is not a good car, but for first buy a cheaper car, get use to cars, get more driving skills, after that buy a 200sx
Bruh the HH logo design for Short Shift is genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All thanks to our friend Eren at Hourglass. There's a link to their page in the description.
"its practicle because has big big boot space"--> puts hyper bassbox in it...
Amazing shots, love this video!
Thank you!
Amazing video! the cinematography is spot on

Why would you go from sr to ca? Especially if you want reliability.
I guess maybe he wants it to be a "true 180sx".
apex128 i was thinking the same thing
apex128 180sx's also came with the SR as Well, from 91-98.

the KA/SR/CA transmissions are exactly the same besides their bellhousing
im looking to get a 200sx s13 with a engine tuned to 320hp. new body kit and repainted as a 1st car.
is that a good car for a 18 y.o?

I love nissan 180sx

i dont like the Sr20 sound without Turbo and i love my CA18 sound with Turbo :D
This is a nice 180 dude, is this a Type X
海外の人のカスタムは綺麗でいいね
THIS LOOKS LIKE A GAME IM SO MINDFUCKED
180sx did had non turbo models
K-series being turbocharged and Q-series being N/A if I'm correct?
Correct for the Silvia
The 180SX had the Type S, basically the same as the Type X just with an SR20DE and no HICAS.
That succ logo on the car, lol
Great!
Thank you!
Saw this car at Calder Park last year, looked mad and had to park my 180 next to it 😂
Mah man has a Defqon.1 sticker on his car
Anyone know what exhaust that is?
hey mate it came with the car when i bought it, all i know is that its a 2.5" mild steel exhaust with a highflow cat
I Love 180sx
cool car!!!
All available gravel roads were closed that day.
What exact specs do those wheels and tyres have?
18" +19 front 9.5 with 225/40 and rear 10.5 with 235/40
Слюнки текут
Beautiful 180 man :) if you get a sec let me know what you think of mine!
Can afford a 180sx but couldnt find an affordable manual liberty.
The inflation on 180/200SX models in Australia, including those with naturally aspirated engines, has been astounding.
Nice car mate, though not very practical when you fill the boot with subwoofers...
The subs are on quick disconnects takes me about a minute to remove them.
My car 180 sx enthusiasm just started and I'm afraid not to get one of those cars....
How on earth can you insure a 180 for your first car
did it to ^^ was over 2500$ for the first year :D
i've just done it and its 3k for me...
1k excess
was insured for 3rd party fire and theft. cost 500 a year so wasnt to bad
Min 4:19 ¡¡¡Defqon1 sticker!!! 👌💪💪💪😈
It so cool!! ビクトリア
turbo would be better but obviously p plate
in Jan the new motor goes in with roughly 230-250 rwkw
Why do you need to read a script to talk about your car?
no script was just nervous talking in front of a camera
omg n/a..... sick and pure but nothing beats Vtec na...
