Wilderness Survival Guide (FULL) - OSRS

- Many players venture into the RuneScape Wilderness to fight bosses, to train skills, to do Slayer, or even to go for Pets. Today I'm going to show you some of the best strategies I've learned to survive in the wild with the constant threat of Pkers. We go over the best methods of escape, from logging out or teleporting, to the best places to run to, and even methods of efficient tanking. There are some lesser known methods discussed as well, such as studying the multicombat and singles zones in deep wildy. I also discuss some useful tank gear. While you can never survive ALL Pker attacks, I hope this video will increase your survivability overall. Enjoy!

Agreed. Never knew this.
It’s just because you move 2 squares per tick running and 1 walking, regardless of direction. So for example you are still moving 2 squares south each tick even if you are going southeast
It's true in other games with tile based movement too. The only way to have diagonal movement be the same speed as orthogonal movement is if it's actually slower, because it's further. So if you can move 1 tile at a time at the same speed in 8 directions you will always move at a little over 1.4 times the orthogonal speed when moving diagonally

I feel like your channel is severely underrated. Which is odd, because you are informative, concise, and memorable at the same time, which is really rare these days. Most "guides" are just the youtuber reading the wiki instead of digesting the material and then presenting it; so you are bombarded with paragraph after paragraph of wiki pages in verbatim almost. Keep up the excellent work!

Also, don't forget to bring your cash stack
If you want to step up your guide:
1. Tip: -Runelite Player-marker names in red color over minimap dots as red (obvious to notice invaders)
2. Tip: -use screen markers over your royal seed to tele out without conscious reaction, your brain has less problems to identify and aim towards that object if it's so highlighted inside a square, your reactions will improve A LOT
3. Tip: Bulwark shield
4. Torags pl8+black d'hide body, torags while frozen, d'hide while unfrozen do wonders.
5. Defence amulet, mythical cape, snakeskin boots, rune gloves, ring of recoil, cost nothing and add up a lot. Specially the RECOIL ring, it FORCES pkers to heal/lowers their dps.
6. 1 Sanfew serum instead of a restore is must, It counters venom!
Best gear to bring in as+3= Bulwark, suffering ring (i), barrows piece
Other options are veracs brassard+black d'hide legs without swaps.
Still best tanking tactic is fighting back, so an ely+cbow on autoretaliate is the best damage soaking thing possible on singles.

I remember going to the bandit camp for a hard clue and my hands were sweating the whole time. Wilderness is scary with pures hanging around green dragons

The best way I learnt how to survive was to head out there and try PKing with a little bit of risk. You can learn a lot about your enemies from them.

battlemage potions are good for tanking as well they give you a +5 magic level boost at 90+ along with the sara brew defence boost

equip-able flowers the ones from mithril seeds, give huge mele stat penalties; it's a boxing item that can help you not kill the npc while x-logging.

@198link Hi. Can you please explain the mechanics of boxing and x logging? I noticed he mentioned “brewing down” in the video prior to attempting to box something. Just unsure about how it’s supposed to work.
@@Nomihc brewing lowered his melee stats before engaging so he was less likely to kill the nod before disconnecting

@@Nomihc Sara brews lower your melee stats so increase the amount of time you can be fighting a monster without killing it. Boxing means attacking a monster in a single zone so a pker can't attack you. An x log means closing the client without logging out. You will stay logged in for 1-2 minutes when doing this, I don't remember which.
The idea is to lower your stats so that you can attack the monster you are boxing for longer than the time you will stay logged in from x logging to escape a pker. If you do this make sure to log into a different world when you come back because if you die to an npc on the same world you got attacked by a pker, they will still get your loot for a certain period of time, which I don't remember the length of.

FYI Clan Wars skull is outdated. the current meta is replaying the Galvek fight
My problem is that i go to a smaller populated world with around 200 players and try looting at lava dragons but everytime i start fighting or get my drops suddenly the entire world is pking ME in wildy, but if i dont have lava dragon gear, i can slowly walk up to lava dragons and chill for about 30 mins without seeing anyone until i go get my gear and come back, suddenly lava dragon isle is full of pkers again. Also pkers dont seem to care about your loot. They take everything you drop regardless what its worth

You're right, I didn't know half of the things you brushed up on lol. All I know is that I needed a glory/seed pod in order to tele under 30 wild. If I got tbed I figured I was fucked anyways.

You can brew your stats down while boxing so you don’t have to worry when you log out
I always made the mistake of thinking pray mage is going to reduce the chance of ice barrage hitting when I should be praying things that will increase my magic and defence
if you want to get over Wilderness anxiety take a burning amulet in ten dragon bones to the chaos Altar and you'll see really quickly why it's worth it you don't like getting PK and don't worry about it it doesn't matter you're not even fighting back so why would you care and also you're not taking No risk and the gains are worth it
So if I am doing chaos ele i should run west to single instantly?
Apolarcat It’s tricky there because it’s a long run, but it might be worth it if there is multiple people on you. You can go in the castle and go up and down the stairs randomly until you can log out. Otherwise you can try your luck with the obelisk, and pre-setting it helps. If you’re just doing it for the pet drop I recommend the Fanatic instead, which I have a guide for. Faster and easier escapes

Idk why he was talking about running in a straight line irl as an example?? There are no lines irl lmao. Any which way you'd run could be a straight line. So in this analogy, running south-east in RS would still be running straight irl instead of "running south" as the comparison he made.

Quick question: i get pked an annoyingly large number of times while in the wilderness. I was wondering how going to a single combat zone helps? do you maintain aggro on whatever you were fighting when you enter it, regardless of where the monster is?
quick edit, i know it reduces the number of pkers that can attack you at once, but it doesn't keep you from getting attacked, does it?
Sorry for the late reply! If there is a monster already on you they will stay on you if they're still in range, which means you can't be attacked unless you are not attacking back and someone tags them off. That's why it's good to brew down and box. But otherwise the biggest thing like you said is the reduction of people attacking you, making it much more realistic to tank.

Can you enter Corp Cave & wait for teleblock to end?
It should end when you leave the wilderness, but you might not be able to get into the Corp cave especially while in combat. Not 100% sure
