I'm a new student accordionist and would love some advice as to where I might find some sheet music for this song. I love my accordion dearly and am slowly collecting songs to learn!

Glorious. We used to dance the dance, but that was ages ago and it was never a favorite. Too exhausting, I suspect. I enjoyed playing the tune, especially the B part because of the way it fit the dance.

Thank you. Although it’s such a simple tune, I’ve never tired of it - probably because the dance isn’t in our repertoire!

Quite well, thankfully! How have you been doing?

We’re fine thanks, but Corrie can no longer play except for very short periods as she has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She still works, though she limits herself to bow making and re-hairs, and making new violins, but no more repairs.

That saddens me. Send her my regards and wishes of good health!

This is absolutely wonderful, I could listen to it on loop all day! You've inspired me to learn it, though it'll hardly sound so sweet on my old Pokerwork.

Thank you. It’ll probably sound fine on a pokerwork if the thirds are removed from the left hand chords.

@@Swordsmith100 To be honest, although I love my Pokerwork I'm wanting to upgrade to something a bit more flexible and with a bit more finesse (without losing the morris melodeon feel), so I don't think I'll get this done or spend more money on it than I already having getting it fettled by Theo Gibb. Love the Hexham morris dances by the way, pity I don't live in NE England any more!

@@wmaguire7759 I know what you mean! I used my Dino Baffetti Black Pearl 3 for decades and this seemed a pretty good, bomb-proof, Beer-proof, go anywhere all rounder. Not quite the Hohner sound, but not bad. I’m aware that my playing style doesn’t suit wet tuning so well, as right hand chords with wet-tuned reeds seem to jar, to my ear anyway. Also removing the thirds opens up a whole lot of possibilities, not just playing in minor keys. Don’t know why they’re ever fitted, unless there’s a stop to remove them!

@@Swordsmith100 Thanks so much for your advice! Yes, a Dino Baffetti is one of the ones I'm thinking of, just need to get my hands on one to give it a go, I think Theo has one in stock so I must pay him a visit next time I'm down on Tyneside.

@@wmaguire7759 I think Kevin Holland has one for sale too. I think it's important to get the 3, as the 2 has a shorter scale and is a very different instrument. Also, I've had two Black Pearl 3s. I gave the first one to a friend for Christmas and bought a replacement - which never sounded so good!. But I guess Theo could work his magic on whatever you get. Where are you now?
