  • This 16mm film describes the Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme of Western Australia, which supplies water to the Wheatbelt areas of the state. The film contains scenes of Mundaring Weir, Wellington Dam, and the pipeline system which they feed. Contained also are scenes of Cunderdin, Kellerberrin and Merredin as well as various other country towns in the southern section. The final scenes show a steam locomotive hauling a freight train alongside a water pipeline. This film was produced by WAVE (West Australian Visual Education) in 1968.

    Thanks for uploading this, around those areas I always see the derelict pump sheds and artefacts of how things used to operate. It's interesting to see footage of the machinery in its former glory, and the people that operated and maintained it. With all the automated systems at present, it's hard to imagine that there were once people at these sites every day; now they are all so ghostly.
