Sad to think both Dr. Hooks and Prof. Broad have sadly passed away. Thank you so much St. Norbert’s and the Cassandra Voss Center for this gift of video, a permanent monument to their memory
Patriarchy hurts everyone. Today’s wounded children will tomorrow be wielding the levers of power. Top scholars in the field are discussing this right here. Why so few comments? Prof. Brod and his invoking of the work of Jackson Katz offers a path to understanding.❤
This is an amazing talk that explores the intersections of feminism and really show that feminism is for everyone. My one question is at 39:50 bell hooks is taking about her sisters relationship how her partner tells her to shut up and how she doesn’t know what she is talking about, I guess I assumed from growing up that that was common practice in a relationship, and that people can just be annoyed at each other, is that healthy? I am also wondering is it possible to have a relationship where both partners have equal say and level of dominance I just feel growing up I have never seen anything like that so I have just written off thoes kinda of relationships as a whole?
Things I learnt in this lecture: 1. Feminism isn't about women 2. Masculinity isn't about men 3. White supremacy isn't about white people 4. I still don't know what "bell hooks" are but I hear it's great

I fled patriarchy and found the beauty of solitude.
