Another awesome song, I think this one a lot of people can relate to feeling overwhelmed with everyday life, at least we can smile and rock out with it. (at least for a little while). 😁
The intro reminds me of band CAKE, Short Skirt/Long Jacket. whose lyrics then remind me of DPA.👍
Glad you're better!. Didn't know what to think about Burnout but it's really grown on me, funky odd time signature bass line, then the whole song goes into outer space with the break!. Funky creative little song done just for the fun of it!.

Anyone remember the Purdie Shuffle? Pau sounds like she's playing a bit of it throughout this song. Bernard Purdie played drums for countless R&B musicians' studio sessions in the 20th Century. I knew his work first through Steely Dan's Pretzel Logic. When I heard the intro to *Burnout,* I immediately thought, "Purdie!" This song seems to be the ultimate rejection of the stoner boyfriend. "The smoke around you / fills up the room / Everything you do / it splits us in two / You're just a burnout..." I bet The Warning have seen their share of examples of that character, whether backstage during festivals, or playing in bars, or on Shipwrecked.
I hear what you mean about the Purdie Shuffle, there is a bit of that vibe!. The lyrics, Dany and Pau at 24 and 22 have probably been exposed to such characters, Shiprocked the most likely candidate, lol. Also Rudy has seen it all, easy to imagine him filling them in on what smoking is all about.
A little Tom Morello vibe in there also!!!! 💯🤘🤘🤘

Papa Fuerte!!! nice to have you back. Looking much better. Your color is back and you definitely look like you're feeling better. Initially wasn't sure about this song, but i listened to it back to back 4 or 5 times, then i went to my car and cranked it up and it rocked. loved it ever since.

re: *Burnout*
i'm aware of at least three types of "burnout"... one is drug/alcohol abuse related, one is job or project related where you have invested too much time and energy, and the last is more general life related where you've given up (depression) and/or are tired of all the fighting, arguing, politics, etc and can't even care any more... none of them is a place anyone wants to be...
i think this song kind of goes along with *Choke* about those times when you are overwhelmed by things in life and you want/need/try to work through it all your own way...

Yes good call on Super Bon Bon similar enough to mention. Ale's line is more complex and floats all over the groove when compared. The back line of this band are masters of the groove. This song and Automatic Sun are totally groovy! Glad you're feeling better!
I've also had a go of it for the past few months. Open heart surgery in March, a stint put in in April. Still in rehab and on meds. I feel a lot better, though. And I's back yup to walking seven miles a day. You're looking like you fell much better.
They did release the official music video this morning. The OMV is hilarious if you understand the context of the casting call. I remember Soul Coughing. That song is a real earworm. And yes, it does remind me of Burnout's bass line.

Wow - never expected a Soul Coughing Super Bon Bon reference - my friends and I were fans!! To me, this song is very very Muse-like -- put Matt B.'s vocals and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. I do want to watch how Ale plays this, sounds like she has a lot of slides going on in this song.

This song is definitely about my ex-wife, not sure how or when they met her though.
