  • US flytyer Gunnar Brammers nice little Soft Hackle Muddler is the inspiration behind this Grumpy Grizzly Muddler. Or just GG Muddler, as Morten Coastfly calls his bid on an effective baitfish-pattern with the benefits from a muddlerhead. Imitating baitfish with large and wide heads can be done by using deer-hair, and it can be super effective for getting the attention of predators in both fresh- and saltwater. If the fish can't see the fly, they definitely can feel the movement in the water. Just don't pack the head of deer-hair too tight. Otherwise it will be difficult to get the fly down from the surface.

Tail: Grizzly hackles - back to back
