I love the Cadet. Have bought many over the years. I end up giving them away when I use them because people are always interested. I have recently started carrying the Bantam. It's thinner and surprisingly I don't miss the other tools as I thought I would. I pull it out of my pocket more than my Bugout on most days. Great video, thanks bro.
Kinda agree. The Bantam in Alox you can carry in your shirt pocket even. No key ring and the same rounded shape so nothing to wear and tear the fabric of your clothes. That extra tool really does have multiple functions.
Great video. First hard use testing I see on this, in my view, 'gentleman's knife' (also for the ladies of course). It's like 'grandfathers' pen knife but with some tools. Slim profile and won't raise eye brows when you use it when others are around.
Am I the only one that uses that huge flathead as a dedicated pry bar? I might carry a fancy pry bar with it but I always go back to my SAK unless I’m prying bigger nails or something. Thank you for this video, I just ordered an alox cadet and this video makes the anticipation all that greater!
@@hypemind612 I used to carry the Fieldmaster. Four layer knives are too thick to have on you at all times, unless you’re always wearing jeans. That being said, for me, the best EDC knife would be the three layer Sportsman.
Hey, yeah in the alox versions (like this cadet) the aluminum scale is the liner. The plastic handled ones have a stainless (or whatever they actually use) liner behind the scales. Thanks.
All comments are wrong.. cellidor models have alumimum liners and alox models have nickel silver liners. I noticed the 58mm line has nickel silver liners as well.
I don't usually need scissors when I have a knife blade but I do carry a small classic in addition to my alox farmer for the toothpick, tweezers, nail file and scissors addition.

Got one last week and ... it’s the best pocket knife you can have

Hahaha nope I use it as light pry bar and paint scraper and grout remover all the time. Glad you liked it! Enjoy your cadet!
Looks like a good knife! I'd go with red tho if I can find it; I like the traditional red handles.
Cant beat the classic red. I like that best but thought I’d switch it up. :). Thanks for watching.
It would be best to have an obstacle course and you and another person race use two different knives. Maybe, Victorinox vs Spyderco?
Thanks for doing this so we don’t have to!
I have a red 2018 cadet love it
It’s a great knife! ;)
I have one too.
But its to Nice to use.
So ordered a regular silver too :)
Haha 👍👍😁
Für einen Mann wie Du wäre ein Farmer Alox besser geeignet. Aber auch das Pioneer und das Cadet sind tolle Werkzeuge !
are you still wearing that rangeman? how has it held up?
Do you still have it? If so. Hows it holding up?
Try the Pioneer! Its more comfortable and even tougher! 😁 great video!
Bombotski i meant in his personal dealings/day to day life. I agree there’s enough vids of the pioneer !
i do use and hard use with my SAK for over 10 years as a edc, never failed me
Best EDC knife. Period.
Huntsman says no.

Brilliant video! Loved it!
Which sharpening tool do you use for a small blade like this one, Hammer II Hammer?
Thank you! I use a redhead ceramic rod to touch it up and keep it sharp. And a three sided wet stone if it needs more work.
@@HammerIIHammer Excellent - thank you for the quick response. I'll check out the ceramic rod. Keep the vids coming btw :)
Your welcome. Thank you for watching! Will do! :)
Must remember, not to lend you my knife,, 🤣
Hahahaha 🤷🏻♂️🤣

🤣. Just subbed, 👍😂
Only pocket knife that my Dad is not afraid of.
thats sad
Someone tell me why everyone who carries the cadet also carries a bugout too 😂
It does seem pretty common :). Not a huge fan of the bugout myself, don’t have one, but decent looking knife.
Because I need to have a quick one hander more often 👍 I don’t carry a bugout, 940 for me.

@@HammerIIHammer The plastic handled ones have alu liners too. The farmer and alox X series I believe have stainless liners
@@destinationbushcraft1833 Correct. Plastic handle = aluminum liners, Alox handle = steel liners.

This is hard test? lol , I cut worse crap with mine all the time 😅
Haha nice, keep at it :-)
I have a few Pioneers but never got a Cadet. After this video I may get one though lol
Yeah they are really tough. Nice to have when minimizing is needed.
2 Hammers I bet lol this video also makes me trust my Pioneers more since they are pretty similar 😁
The Victorinox Alox knives are great but the cadet doesn't have scissors.
U dont need Them then You have a knife

Actually not bad!
