I don't see a lack of chemistry here... I'm really confused by the all the hate?!?! I think they did a really good job embodying their characters and adapting them to the stage. And The costuming is really interesting to me, the faded color of the ancestors is eerie and eye catching with overpowering the main cast who are primarily in black and white, costume isn't set in stone... also, the wigs look fine. I really enjoyed it.
I agree with you about the design, some really cool stuff in there. I think if you compare it to the original in terms of performance it doesn't really stand up though. S'all subjective mind
True, I've seen parts of the original, and i prefer this one. to each their own
katheriner10 I prefer this version tbh maybe because it's the only version of the show I've seen live and I was holding my sides and wiping tears from my face due to laughing so hard truly brilliant and worth the watch
The actual stage during the tour is amazing and so is the lightning, absolutely stunning!
pro tip: watch series at InstaFlixxer. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
I don't get why people are judging the whole performance off of this one clip, that was taken from one small performance. Unless you have seen the whole show, I wouldn't judge.

Saw this last night.
It was so good.
If I could see it again I would. In our production les Dennis was sick so Scott Paige (the Roman ancestor) took his place. Oh my god Scott Paige was fantastic!! Considering he was an understudy he really blew the crowd away, he got some of the loudest cheers! The whole production was perfect, the set was amazing and every effect was perfectly timed. 10/10.
i saw it with both scott paige and les dennis! they were both amazing but if you thought scott was good then you should of seen les! he smashed it. he got the biggest standing ovation ive ever seen after the moon and me!
I saw this in Birmingham last week and it was absolutely fantastic! Carrie was exceptional. I didn't think i could enjoy a musical as much as i did hairspray, but i think I've been proven wrong.

Having watched the show, I would say this clip (although very good) is not an accurate representation of the show...for one the cast (in my opinion) had brilliant chemistry, and I rather like the brightly coloured ancestors, and I didn't think they distracted from the main cast at all, if anything it gave the ancestors more personality; it also makes it that much funnier in the long run with some other characters. But that is my opinion, I loved the show and this clip was great but not exactly like the actual show opening number (which is AMAZING).

It's a little bit slower than the original, but still quite good.
they are all amazing i think they all work brilltant togther and carrie is wonderful as wednesday and makes the character come to life on stage x

this is coming up a month after completing a run of the show in my hometown (in which i played Lucas), and it honestly made me cry bc of how much i miss this show. all the performances here were amazing as well, especially carrie considering her lack of involvement with this number!

For anyone saying it's slow, I think this was slowed down. I just saw other videos of them perfoming this and it seems to be faster like the original.
This ought to be Moaning Myrtle's new home-anybody to throw even one object at her will be placed in the Addams's "Playroom" all day!
Even though Nathan Lane was the one who originated the role of Gomez for Broadway, I like more this version, since the reprise of "Crazier than you" and some things like some scenarios, songs and costumes are considered as "non-replica", making Lane's Original Broadway cast a Non-Replica Version Ironically.
What is their pit, I know this is the UK version but they cut out so many random parts for no reason
@Emily Forrester She is correct. Similar to the TV on the original cast, they cut out the ancestor's introduction, and their song line, and one dance part.
The whole track seems to be a little slow and awkward.

I feel like I'm watching a bunch of soloists, none the cast has the right chemistry to work together.
I agree, for some reason the creative team seems to have decided to suck all the humour out of it. The actors seem to be trying so hard to be odd that they're coming of as though they don't want to be on stage.

No chemistry and what's up with the costumes for Wednesday it's fluffy its spouses to be dull and just sits there and pugsly is a middle aged man and it should be a kid and all the other costumes for him I have seen it's been a striped shirt and black cargo shorts )I would know I played him) and the wigs are horrendous, and the ancestors are supposed to be all white and gray but those are colorful! I am ashamed of the costumer they could have done a lot better with the hole show in General. Not trying to be mean but just some criticism from a big fan of the show!
Aren't they grown up in this version though? So then Pugsley would be older and surely the costuming would slightly change then?
i guess so but that dosnt change the fact that the costumes looked just bad, and the pugsley wig is HORRENDOUS!!!! and in the original broadway version pugsley is younger and has the costime i said with black cargo shorts and a striped top

Kayleigh Lomax I user stand the plot as I said I WAS IN THE PLAY and I just thing think they did a great job with the rest of the cast just pugsley is who I have a problem with. He's costume seem kind of weird to look at and that's all I focus on and his wig is HORRIBLE and he is literally a GROWN MAN it kind of makes me uncomfortable, he. Just seems creepy but not in a good way with the Addams. The rest of the cast I would rate a 4 out of 5 but pugsley I would rate 1 or maybe a 2 our of 5 tbh
N M hate it to break it to you but pugslys hair is his actual hair...and it isnt a wig. plus hes played by an adult because its a touring show..cant tour with a child
