    The Boa made the correct play at the end. It was the only way to "try" and wipe out all attackers, and limit it to just the leader. If the Doffy player was short at all on counters the Boa player's route would have cleared all 5 characters. The reason for the first attack is to gain access to the 3rd active characters. He knew was going to remove 2 characters via 10c Kaido, so the third has to be KO via block. The remaining characters can be attacked because they are rested. It should also be noted that Weevil and one Doffy blocker is the choice to hit because at least it's only sending 1k counter to hand instead of 2k because Weevil is a non counter in hand.
    For those arguing he should bounce 2 blockers and swing in three times 12k it math out similarly. You give Doffy player 2k to hand by sending the 2 blockers to hand so he just needs 5k counter from his remaining 5 cards in hand plus the 2 from life he will take...The First option is safer imo because you send 1k to hand and he HAS to HAVE 4k from his hand to block attack on Sanji without including the 2 life cards....basically if you are going for the desperate attack play and "Hoping" he doesn't have counter than the initial play is the same. If his hand was "assumed" to be shit in this scenario than the attack on Sanji in the first scenario would have connected as well....I also believe the first scenario is more nuanced and leaves more opportunity for the opponent to misplay and checks his game sense as a player, whereas the second scenario is pretty straightforward and 99% of opponents will do the same sequence which is to just bait lethal and counter out at the end~~
    Anyways it's important to remember the Boa player can't see all of what we see as spectators. I think he played great~~

      I inicially though on Red Rock on 1 blocker and swing 9k, and 3 Kaidos but was the same situation, just need 5k counter to stop it. The good thing doing this is the Blocker go to deck instead of hand but there is no way to know how many counters the oponent has so he had a very dificult decision there

    I see the line he was going for at the end he wanted to clear board, get rid of one of the blockers then bounce the 2 standing characters, then ko the rest was risky. I think he should have went for game in my opinion just bounce the 2 blockers then swing big at life but idk.

    21:58 why and how was Doflamingo able to return Perona to the bottom of their deck? Was it from Sanji's on play effect of returning remaining cards to the bottom of their deck? But if so, why not Gecko Moria too? Or is that because it was rested and didn't apply to rested characters?

    • @atrocioustcg
      @atrocioustcg  5 місяців тому +2

      Good question! The OP08 Boa SR that was played off the SEC Sanji has two effect; One that is the "can't attack", but then a second one that bottomdecks a one cost or less character. I'm not sure if you HAVE to bottomdeck it because the card translates to "up to", but honestly doesn't really hurt what doffy's endgame in that scenario looks like

    The Boa player needed to take a look at his hand before they decided to control the board. He had low combo counter and couldn't defend 2 attackers so they should have attacked Boa first then played kaido bouncing both blockers to finish the game.

    • @atrocioustcg
      @atrocioustcg  5 місяців тому

      It seems the average consensus here is that the Boa was in a tough spot overall, but board control was a better route than what i was thinking

  • @alexkrasnic3850
    @alexkrasnic3850 5 місяців тому

    Last turn boa had it guaranteed. 2 don on leader swing at jimbe. Best thing dofy can do is let it die. Swing 12 at sanji, dofy counters out. Swing 12 again, dofy blocks. Uss gravity blade and swing 13 at sanji to clear board

  • @Shirohige92
    @Shirohige92 5 місяців тому +1

    I honestly dont see a line of play where the boa could have got it. I mean, red roc 1 doffy in the end that means you have to connect with 4 hits (1 remaining blocker, 2 life and last hit). Swing with 9 leader, doffy has 6k counter. 3 attacks left on 1 blocker and 2 life. There's one swing missing for lethal. You have to realise the boa needed a gravity blade to take it: bottom deck the 2 doffy blocker, swing 8k with leader, doffy counters it, then 3 times with 12k. He may needed to take the blade to hand instead of triggering it, which would leave the weevil on board which would cost him the game earlier probably...tough spot.

    • @atrocioustcg
      @atrocioustcg  5 місяців тому

      I do agree, Blade would have been much much better for their odds, but it got really tough towards the end game when the Doffy had the string of 08 Boa’s. What a great game imo

    If the boa player hadn’t hit the gravity blade trigger he would have won that

    • @atrocioustcg
      @atrocioustcg  4 місяці тому

      tbh im not sure if I fully agree. He ended up playing the Kaido so that would have traded two bodies on Doffy's side leaving versus him not building a board. I guess the tradeoff is that it would be one less doffy blocker to hit the field in doffy's next turn, but he had to keep up the bodies because of all the 6c Boa's

    • @atrocioustcg

    • @bakujonhy1025
      @bakujonhy1025 5 місяців тому +2

      He still would have lost because doffy had 3 2k counters, the doffy player could counter boa swing, block one kaido and take the two other kaido swings and end up at 0 life. His worst mistake was probably taking the gravity blade trigger when it could have helped him secure the game at the end
