Who's Gonna Take Your Garbage Out
(Teddy Wilburn / Johnnny Tillotson / Lucille Cosenza)
This is how real country singers looked and sounded back in the day
A unique voice beats a beautiful voice every time.
Many can be beautiful, but only one can be unique.
Saw Ernest Tubb when I just turned 21 at the Corral Club in Seaside, CA near Monterey. A lot of GI’s stationed at Ft. Ord were there.
I met Ernest Tubb when I was a little boy. He was at a county fair near Flint Michigan. He autographed a picture for my mom and was so down to earth and friendly. He asked mom her name so he could write it on the picture and when she said it was Barbara he said, “ok here ya go Barbie doll.” Then he gave her a wink as he handed her the picture.
The best description I ever heard of Ernest was by Hank Wangford when he described the late singer as " a man who sang delightfully flat all his life". I love it and I loved Ernest Tubb for it too!
Your right old Erny did sing flat yet always stayed in tune great showman and promoter of up and coming younger stars. RIP Mr Tubb you live forever on UA-cam keeping all us old fans happy
His pitch on these songs is fine, if not perfect. When hey say flat I think they mean something else... maybe referring to how plain and unadorned his style is. Sounds good in this era of overwrought divas.
@@johnsieger6197 It's perfectly off, it's harder than just nailing the note for most people. But he definately sings pretty consistently flat in this song. I sure hope your ears are in my audience and not my band. ;-)
My grandfather ran a Hudson Valley cities firefighter fundraisers and regularly billed him. He has a hell of a tale of organizing a beautiful bill until Tubbs never shows an act before set. He had to rush to the motel he bought him and drag him out of bed at 6pm to slug his set only to leave with shoulders over groupies. Still never smug....just slug haha. Guy was never a leech coward or villain. He was just a beautiful humble every man laughing through stardom. Gotta love him
@@Erorrandz I read a quote by ET where he said something like " be nice to people on your way to the top, and on your way back to the bottom"
back when country music was best and two of country best singers
Man the pedal steel player and the guitar player just with all those melodic fills. Just beautiful. Lotta talent.
If Loretta Lynn was hoarse that night, i couldn't tell. She sounded great 👍
I met ET way back in 1979 in Austin TX (when Austin was still a nice place) and he signed a T shirt for me. He was a real gentleman and made sure he spelled my name correctly.
I love to watch Tubbs’s face as he sings, especially his eyes. You can’t fake that kind of sincerity and sense of fun. One of the great ones when country was really country.
I was lucky to see Ernest Tubb at Willy Nelson's last 4th of July Picnic, Ernest was great and very old then, but still a performer. A great time.
SuperJewelboy lucky guy!!
How lucky are you?🙂
??? guess not sure you tell me?
Lucky you!
A tip : you can watch movies at instaflixxer. Been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
I sure like both kinds of music here, Country AND Western!
Here's two of the most recognizable voices in country music. Loretta Lynn and Ernest Tubb.
Loretta had the cutest most sincere smile!
I met Ernest Tubb in Evansville Indiana,,he had pictures made with us a true gentleman.
Ernest and Loretta what great country musicians God bless them and her families
I took some garbage out earlier today. Got a few $$ for it at a pawn shop in Nashville.
A true country music legend.
This is Country Music Royalty at it's BEST! Earnest Tubb and then Loretta Lynn, Then nthe 2 of them sing " who's gonna take your garbage out ! What a song, and what a title! you want Country Music legends here you go !!!
I used to watch the Wilburn Brothers show every Saturday night when I was a kid. I watched it to laugh at the squares but I came away with a life-long deep love for real country music.
When I saw Loretta on here back in the early 60's I always thought she was a big star. It wasn't until later that I realized she was just starting out.
smokeemonkee Nice story. Funny you say that about Loretta. She always had star power even when she was first starting out!
Good God!
I had no idea good Ol’ Ernest was born in 1914...1 week ago from this day, on 9th of February, about 104 years ago!
A thing like that...
Happy belated 104th E.T!
He did so much for country music,Shame on Nashville for not preserving his record store.A pity.
Thanks a Lot was my favorite of my favorite singer, Ernest Tubb. E T still means Ernest Tubb to me !
Man I got to see Loretta when I was about 10 years old it was great, Wish I could have got to see Ernest before he passed on, sure do love his music to this day I still do!
My eyes teared up while watching this. Brings back memories of watching the Wilborn Brothers with my mom as a young boy in the 60's. Miss you momma, thanks for exposing me to all the great country artists of that era especially ET and Loretta.
Lynn was incredible. My dad loved her back in the 1970s. I didn't get it at the time, but I do now.
A Beautiful voice and beautiful songs, thank you for sharing his beautiful music
This is as country as country music can be, just amazing. :)

He was - is the Best !! Going old school ..
Ernest Tubb was first class!
I don't know who the steel player was on Thanks A Lot but he was Killin it!
On this version it was Hal Rugg.
Sounds like Buddy Charleton, but Hal's on the next song. Weird. Did they switch between songs? Maybe Hal was doing his Charleton impersonation.
Man that might've been the best steel guitarist backup I can remember ever hearing.
Don't get better than Ernest Tubb.
🇺🇸
That’s certainly Hal!
Love this kind of country music great singer
That's from the old "Wilburn Brothers Show"! I remember them from when I was a small boy!! :)

I got a broken heart
That's all I've got
You made me cry
Now I cried a lot
I lost your love
Baby thanks a lot
You told our friends
As I was passin' by
That you're not sorry
That you made me cry
You said I deserve
Just what I got
Well if that's how you feel
Honey thanks a lot
Thanks thanks a lot
[Chorus]
You wanted a fool
And I played the part
Now all I've got
Is a broken heart
We loved a little
And laughed a lot
Then you were gone
Honey thanks a lot

Domnule Marinescu, daca ati stii ce mult ma bucur acum sa vad ca mai sunt romani care asculta muzica asta buna! Asta da muzica de calitate, nu-i asa? Nu e pacat ca in Romania nu e cunoscuta? Eu ascult Loretta Lynn, the Wilburn Brothers, cateodata Ernest Tubb si, rareori, Statler Brothers!
It's great to hear there are Romanians who have heard of country music and enjoy it!
It could be better than ever
People knows to leave?

Loretta Lynn has to be one of the few singers who could shout (or "holler") when she sang and it sounded like a platinum record.

Why do they still call modern country music “country music”?? Real country music died in the 80’/90’s.
70's* Poser.
A friend and I have a term for the new stuff
Nashville pop
If it aint on a 45, its in the fire
There’s still some true country around today but they don’t play it on the radio sadly
Nashville sold their soul for billions of pop dollars….
I wish I could have seen Ernest and the Texas Troubadours.
me too! just discovering Mr Ernest Tubb right now in 2020!!! Loving his music and style for sure...
The best!
