Tilak mentions Pak Punjabi officers messing up with Afghans but they could always rely on their Pashtun members. 2- What is it that will resolve the Durand Line issue? Pak is not going to up NWFP under any circumstances!! 3- Can India fish into troubled waters (or mountains!) and offer a deal to Taliban under which India helps it secure NWFP and Taliban recognizes J&K as integral part of India? Is this deal worth it? We may not want POK but we certain need to have physical possession of GB for obvious strategic reasons! Otherwise, knowing Pashtun history and traditions by itself has no strategic relevance for us.

All these analysis have no meaning when u r discussing an entity like Pak. Its not a natural entity so the prociples of a normal state dont apply to it. When an entity is created on the basis of chaos and to create chaos, how can chaos harm it. Only reason for its existance is as a hedge against india. And it will never lose its relevance as long india is there. Only way out was for india to become a strong state( financially and most importantly to industrialize ) but since its not gonna happen, dont day dream. Forces that created it, will never let it go out of existnace.
