      @@kimberleylucas Absolutely! "The pounds (dollars) will take care of themselves!" I hear that some costs will be easing soon, I hope that is true! 😃

    A very precise summary. We’ll done and welcome to Oz. One point to add is the fact salaries here are one of the highest in the world. Having lived in a different country, I can say once you stop noticing the differences, you have assimilated. 😅

      Yes I agree, salaries are definitely much higher but I will also admit that I thought we would have been paying less for things like rent etc obviously living closer to the city impacts this but we're not better off if that makes sense.

    Great video! Some people will have additional non-discretionary expenses such as
    - Medical insurance ($400-$600 per month for a family of 4)
    - Car service expenses ($50-$100 per month)
    - CTP ($50 per month)
    - Car Registrartion ($50 per month)
    - Gas bill ($60 per month)
    - Contents insrance ($100 per month)
    etc

    Terrific content. It was really helpful for a friend of mine. Brisbane is closer to 35% cheaper for rent and substantially lower than that for purchase. I’m pretty sure whoever told you it was one percent was pulling your leg.

    Would you say that you are better off financially in Sydney?

    • @kimberleylucas
      @kimberleylucas  10 місяців тому +3

      No not really, not financially anyway... but the rent situation doesn't help this. Still a better standard of living and we have more opportunities here x

    Did you not included rates, I hear thats like council tax, we are moving to Sydney in January so assumed thats something we have to pay

    • @dangermouse3619
      @dangermouse3619 10 місяців тому +1

      If you rent there's no council rates to pay. You only pay council rates if you won a property.

      @@dangermouse3619 I thought that but when I looked on NSW website they mentioned it can be paid by the owner or the tenant, in the UK it’s automatically paid by the person living there, in OZ is it rare for the tenant to pay, should I assume that’s the case unless the landlord explain otherwise when we view the property?

      @turbotoaster1984 everything is included in our rent, which I believe is standard, especially if you go through an estate agent anyway 😊

    84,000 Australian dollars a month surely that’s almost all of your husbands salary for the year?
