South Yuba River Public Safety Cohort Press Conference: May 17, 2023

Every year, first responders receive several calls for service for visitors who have an accident at the South Yuba River due to slips and falls or swimming in unsafe river conditions. First responders perform swift water rescues many times throughout the summer months due to these accidents.
Last week, the South Yuba River Public Safety Cohort held a press conference to ask residents and visitors to stay out and stay alive due to above-average river flows. Nevada County Consolidated Fire District conducted a river rescue training last week with California Highway Patrol’s helicopter simulating a patient recovery in the South Yuba River canyon.
