      I’ve been making these conquistador stitch Apple Watch bands since the Series 2 watch came out and I have even done one for a Samsung watch but I had to return the watch for a problem with connecting it to my account. Most of my bands are 550 and the compass and fire striker clips but I did one in the 95 with 2 small clips.

    Just used this method to make an infinity loop for my Apple Watch using stretchy shock cord in Coyote brown. It looks amazing, but I think I used too thick of a gauge causing it to be a bit challenging to slip onto my wrist. I will definitely be trying this again later with a smaller gauge shock cord.

    • @vladimirmikhailov6904

    I made this for my husband as he can’t wear leather or silicone as with most smart watches! We made a strap keeper from elastic instead and it kept the paracord strap in tight.
    I have a question for you - is there any way to do this strap in 3 colours as long stripes so say eg 3 stitches in navy then 3 stitches in red and 3 stitches in navy at the start where 3 is just a random number as I’ve no clue how to do this!! These colour way is the colour of his military regiment the Scot’s Guards and I would love to some how do him a second strap!
    Any ideas how to accomplish this - his pins are for a 20mm strap.
    Thanks and LOVE the videos! I’ve learned LOADS from them and look forward to seeing alerts for new videos I LOVE how clear and concise your instructions are so easy to watch pause rewind watch pause rewind - I’ve seen loads but yours are always the ones I go to even resort to searching for “knot” names on your channel to see if you have a tutorial over others! Thanks again K

    I have a question.
    I really want to try this but with a quick release watch pins, so I can easily remove the strap and put on another one. To do this I would have to use a thinner cord and do a hole near the quick release lever just you did for the buckle holes!
    This seems awesome, and I really want to do an apple watch-style solo loop for my Withings watch!

    thanks for teaching. please forgive me; I don't mean any disrespect, but you (and others) are calling the needles a "fid". I was always taught that what you call a "weavers tool" is a fid, or marline spike. certainly the videos are superb, and i wouldn't see them changed. I truly wonder how the terms became exchanged.

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Scott, no offense taken at all! And you are correct, the "fid" I referred to should be referred to as a lacing needle and the "knotter's tool" is definitely a marlin spike or fid. I think I watched a video that called the lacing needle a fid and I just kept calling it that early on in my channel. Since then I perhaps have passed that mistake on to many other viewers unknowingly.
      As for the knotter's tool, I think that's just what the product was called from the company that sold them, so that name just kind of caught on.
      However, since realizing that mistake recently, going forward, I plan on using the correct terms for posterity.

    • @scottaynsley1193
      @scottaynsley1193 3 роки тому

      @@TheWeaversofEternity I was ambivalent about commenting, but your response i heartening. here's what comes to mind: either an addendum to several of the videos, or a separate video. my opinion is that knotter's tool is what the catalogue calls it, and that it has a different taper than a traditional marlinespike. it also is a different taper than the fids used by the gauchos and cowboys (I plan to purchase one, and have many variant fids for every occasion). any item that is being stuck into a knot, weave, etc. is a fid--even if it is a pair of needlenose. if a lacing needle that is unattached to any string is used to open, tighten, etc.--it becomes a fid, even though it is technically a needle being used as a fid--just as the toothpick you used remained a toothpick, though it was used as a miniature fid. i think that a separate video solves the hazard of misinforming, while retaining the great quality and labor, and it is opportunity to clarify terms, history, and techniques all at once. additionally i am learning much. some of the design elements I will be able to adapt to my leather braiding; some i simply must use by purchasing paracord. e.g. the watchband. i have made several very nice ones from hand cut kangaroo, and they were durable and rinsible, but not as much as the one in your video. it is the ultimate for that type of watch. especially like how you skipped in order to make the holes for the tongue of the buckle. have done without that, as the leather forms a hole, but I will be experimenting in that case too. all of the conquistador wristwear you demonstrate is instructive, even though I have used the technique for years. also, the one knot one needs to know video is what lead me to your channel. thanks much for all the great teaching.
