- We think there's magic to be found in the everyday and with the help of the Great British public, we've captured this. Our new channel idents (those little films that tell you which channel you're watching) star real people going about their daily lives, reflecting our habits, our hobbies, the things we all share. In this compilation you get a taster of five of these idents - looking inside a hot air balloon as it inflates, cycling at night with a cycling club, experiencing the ups and downs of a see-saw, having a bath with a dog and watching a firebreather. www.itv.com

took the words right out of my mouth. I'm a fan of the Balloon Idents myself :) Also, definitely agree with your point about the organ music. I love how they've now got different music for each individual ident, Really nice touch :) x
I LOVE this so much. Honestly don't understand why people are getting so shitty about it, it's just a logo.
I always preferred the old TVS ident. They should have had the music that went with that for all the ITV indents. It's quite exciting you hear it, you definitely know what channel you're on.

Hear hear. definitely agree with you. Apparently it took the graphics department a year to create this new logo. Hmm I could've doodled it in just five minutes myself.

Loving the cycling one... miles better than the old style... its almost those were deliberately bad... at least you could use that excuse @ITV1
Sorry just had a thought of a style for the itv logo as if you made the itv logo bigger and had the same frosty style as the old Westcountry tv style idents
I like the co Concept behind the itv idents however I do think the itv logo isn't shown onscreen for long enough and it's not clear enough if you blink you miss it and could be just any random bit of footage played on screen, I think these would need to be tweaked a bit be a bit more adventurous with the logo appearing on the screen, it would also be nice to see some landmarks from all over the UK used in the idents rather than just some rando

To axe Britain's Got Talent on ITV1 later this year. Is to allowing Doctor Who on BBC1 get the highest viewing programme in Britain.
The Pug one was a very bad choice to pick as a preview! Most of these are much better!
I kinda like them. Yes they're (sigh) a little boring, but they're just like the BBC One idents, except without the SFX. I could get used to them.

Its weird, some of these are quite good and atmospheric (i.e. the music on the Balloon reminds me of the BBC Balloon idents which were brilliant) but other ones seem gimmicky and more in line with the horrible "Emotions" idents from 2006. Overall, a mixed bag but better than that horrible organ music from before. Christ, i'm sad commenting on this :P
I like the music, mostly. The three-note motif. And I like the use of colour on "Balloon". Apart from that, bland as oxygen-flavoured gum. And the logo's still terrible.

Anyone nostalgic for the Regional channels, Big Ben clock and ITV schools spinner would put their fist through the TV screen watching todays offerings. 2/10

What a bunch of complete retarded fuckers [ITV] you are, you killed three names LWT, Carlton and most importantly London Tonight. ITV might as well go and piss off to the North West because Granada has killed off every single franchise name except Carlton.
I'm glad I don't watch ITV no more, If London Tonight is dead, if Carlton and LWT are dead, then so is ITV as a whole. The ITV of the 90's was the best up until October 2002 where you massacred every single region.

It's bland,but not as bland as the last idents.

You dont care about our views about what we like to watch, our regional stations gave us good programs back in the last 2 decades and you simply killed them all by putting your shitty TOWIE crap all over.
ITV your new logo is awful! Bet you paid millions for a poncy arty farty designer to come up with what looks my sister joining up itv when she was 6. Stupid people...
