It's really nice of you to include other makers as well. I remember when I used to do markets and cons, It's always nice to meet new people and support fellow creatives. They help make me less nervous too especially when there's friendly seller neighbors around.

Hi Taylah ive been markets for years I sell Candy at festivals and markets, when its windy take your walls down, they act as a sail (like on a ship) and will blow your stall over. Also purchase some heavy duty metal leg weights for your marquee. (Canopy Outdoors sell them) it will make a huge difference and you wont have to hold onto your marquee when its windy. I usually put 20kg per leg - on days when wind is forecast over 40kms an hour you need to double the weights. Feel free to PM me if you need help.

@@tikdoe7563 I do a lot of craft markets too, but I live in Germany - but maybe I can give you some helpful tipps that will work in your country, too.
      1. Check your local newspapers. You find articles about local events, inluding craft fairs that take place (announcements) or that have been taking place. So you already know that this market exists and where it take place, With some research you find out about the contact details of the people who organise it.
      2. Google some keyword, like "name of your city + craft fair"
      3. Join some facebook Groups that are dedicated to crafting an connect with others crafters that can give you tipps about well known craft fairs
      4. Join local facebook groups for your city, that will post about events
      5. You know some other crafters from your city? Check their website, often they have a list of the craft fairs they attend, so people can come and visit them, so you have dates and city names
      6. Get in contact with the administration of the city you live in. Many craft fairs take in place in puplic buildings like city halls etc. The people in the office can let you know about upcoming events
      7. I even found out about some markets from flyers that were hanging out in our local supermarkt to advertise the upcoming market - so keep your eyes open for any kind of advertisment
      8. Networking is everything - get in contact with fellow crafters, they can give you tips and recommend craft fairs
      9. Especially during christmas time there are many, many markets (well, at least here), it should be easier to find a market then. But most of the time, you have to apply for christmas markets already during summer time / autumn. But even if you don't sell there, visit the market. Go there, network, collect dates, adresses and contact informations from organizers.
      10. You have a local craft store? That would be the right place to hand out some flyers to advertise upcoming craft fairs, so check there, if they maybe have some information.
Sorry for my english - but maybe there's a tip that will help you!
