I heard this Orange 🍊 Crush 120 Pro a couple years ago...! And of all the amplifiers ( I have set up in my studio this is my go to amplifier ) , for almost every guitar I own...! I am extremely pleased with the way this amp sounds clean and for any Lead situation....! I love the ( four stages of gain ) , and the digital reverb is absolutely phenomenal.... My guess is there wasn't a grounding problem. If I'm not mistaken I heard him say he was playing a Fender guitar. If this is true, he was dealing with the dreaded 60 Cycle single coil hum that is so prevalent in most Fender guitars.. add that to a high-gain amp and you've got a recipe for lots of noise.
Did you sort the grounding issue? as my CR120H is doing the exact same thing. Buzzing when the master volume or gain is turned up even on low settings.
Not sure, I just keep my gain not too high, but it would be worth checking the internals for any ground issues. Some day I'll possibly try to take an ohm meter to it and see if I can't find the noise
Yeah it wasn't really a grounding issue, more me cranking the gain high as heck with non humbucker pickups lol. When you push gain that high, you're getting noise no matter what hehe
Right?? Every time i played with this thing at a Guitar Center i couldn't believe it was solid state. The thing is a monster, and i will fight anyone who pretends otherwise lol
I play this amp with my Jackson monarkh js22 with the 57-66 emg set and it really screams, it has a great punch with the 57 on the bridge and the cleans schime with the 66 on the neck. Best amp ive ever played, im not a tube fan.
@@MK-oz2lf this is a four channels amp that smokes the orange. I had the cr120 h during 18 months. Ok amp. I 've got four quilter now. I can play with two 4x12 at the same time, huge headroom, 200 w, it's compact and lightweight. Go to the quilter lab internet and check out their models The tb202 is a beast too. I like to stack one or two overdrive pedals to have different sounds. Lead channel with gain on 3 with a iommi boost laney or an ocd fulltone.
This is definitely a better sounding solid state amp than some of the crate amps I grew up using from 1989-1995
Yeah, though funny enough one of my other amps that i use a lot is the Crate Blue Voodoo 120 XD It's an all tube head hehe

Miss those years man
That crate blue voodoo is top shelf ✌️

It is STILL my favorite amp to play on. It just works so well with my pedals for the exact sounds i want. It's just so good!
This amp DOOOOMS.
It's a fucking monster. Makes my bowels jiggle.
What in the neck pickup through a fuzz pedal is this

I’m not a big fan of the gain on this amp but with a tube screamer, Holy shit! It fucking rules .
Do u put the tube screamer in frount of the clean channel?
Miss read man sorry.
Yes
@@chaelsneighbor677 In front of the dirty and use the screamer as a clean boost

Just neck pickup the whole time?
I feel for the people who were looking for anything other than exactly how this sounds. Absolutely filthy, noisy awesome grit. Convinced me to buy!
Glad to see i'm not the only one who can appreciate some swampy ass tones!! XD
My head buzzes too when the gain is all the way up. Running a noise gate through the effect loop fixxed it
I tried the 35w combo today and really liked the clean channel. Is the clean channel on these bad boys as good as the combos?
Oh yeah, i almost exclusively use the clean channel, since i get all my dirt and gain from pedals lol
Hmmm. Is it snowing?
Uhhh, i don't think it was snowing that day lol Why?
how did you fix the grounding issue
Yeah it wasn't really a grounding issue, more me cranking the gain high as heck with non humbucker pickups lol. When you push gain that high, you're getting noise no matter what hehe
One word. Crowbar. That is all you need to know about the tone of these.
What mic are you using on the amp?
SM57, mixed with a Behringer C1 condenser mic
I have this head,,great amp, but my orange micro dark sounds better for distortion at 200 dollars..and is almost as loud..
Why a Strat on the neck pickup? Muddy af, dude.
I watched your Joyo Blue Jay review and said “this guy does reviews right”. And by right i mean GAIN BROTHER. Keep up the good work mate.
All the gain!!!
NO MIDS!
SLAYER!
This amp sounds great every one always talks shit about solid state amps just listen do dimes sound that he got outa solid state with Randall 😉

Dimes tone is possibly the worst ever

This amp is quite decent but far far behind the quilter od 200 that i bought since i sold my cr 120 h. Not the same league
The Quilter sounds better than the Orange to your opinion?
@@MK-oz2lf oh yes. Not the same league in terms of sound and quality. Pat Quilter knows his stuff
@@jmasson3272 Cool. I am thinking about the OD 200. Thanks

Sounds like dooky!
Man, to me that distortion is terrible, sounds like high decibel distorted fart sounds...
Yeah, sounds great 👍 Thanks for watching~
What guitar/pickup combo is he using? Maybe that's why.It does sound very noisy
yeah this was a weird one. Sounds awful , but I think it's mostly the host.
I don’t know why all the dislikes, aside from the grounding issue it was a great demo 🤟👍
Dude you make the amp sound like crap.wtong giuter for metal.
Not offense but this thing sounds like a buzz box.
Great review Eric next time use a dean ML or your not metal ☹️ any one who plays a strat is a hippie now that’s a good one a holes out there
If you can’t play metal on a strat your a shit guitar player
Sounds horrible
wow,, sounds terrible.... Orange always have too much fizz happening for my liking...
Can ever have too much fuzz lol
