    The name was actually a pun making fun of the name of some british guy's name :)

      "Purrkur" in Icelandic means Porky, Pillnikk means nothing

      Not a British guy. It's a play on the name of the Argentinian chess player Hermann Pilnik, probably because he died around the same time the band was formed, and his name was fairly well known.
