Hi Richard - another master class in coastal painting. Loving the subtitle shadows on the beach from the base of the cliffs. And the sharp contrast between the shadows and the grasses - wow just a delight. Now where's my palette knife - its time to get started in my own studio. Best wishes and a Merry Crimbo from the UK
My father is thinking about getting into painting. There are so many different ways to paint, though he has a preference for thicker textured application of paints like what I see here, so I'll recommend this channel to him.
Not gonna LIe ~~~ There Richard. Trying not to sit with you. I really have. From here in New Hampshire. It's Thursday today. 1/9/2024. Evening time. Today, or actually yesterday. Not much sleep even. Waves of fire and smoke here. Just can't get around what is happening here. Well actually the west coast. And then there. You know where. There with the blue and yellow. All the smoke, explosions ripped flesh. And the politics. Seems like the only Sane place is Australia ~ I suppose Canada too. But then they have their issues. So here you are. Making sense of things. Zoom zoom zoom. Yr studio looks great! My goodness man. Not even a pause for some coffee. Well, thank goodness, some time laps shots. Magic going on here. A field trip too. Too much Richard. I'm overwhelmed. Such a Master. Brilliant work and stellar editing for this video. Should be millions of views. Incredible. Bravo. Thank you so much for this. 👍
Wow, I think this is your masterpiece. It's absolutely beautiful, and it takes me right there. My eyes go straight to the center of the illusion of two people enjoying their view. Which then leads me to that slight stroke of yellow ochre tones above those beach admirers. At least that's what I see first. Then it moves me to the smaller water hole of such beautiful shade of blue slate like green. Me the viewer, wonders how to get down there. Awww, then my eyes move to that wonderful road of countrylike land with signs of small buildings, and a few homesteads. And finally stepping back from the beautiful land, lies the reason it is all there to travel on. It's destiny is that vast oceanview and skyline. Thanks for taking us down on location. The shoreline was and sounded beautiful. I wasn't there, but your art made me feel like I was. Lucky you, living in Australia with all the Kangaroos and views to paint. Your talent is overwhelming to me. You inspire me to paint where I spent Thanksgiving up in the Ozarks in Missouri overlooking a beautiful winding lake. Love your style! Heck, I would even be proud to own that used palette of all your brilliant mixing of colors. I'd let it dry and hang it on my wall. 😊
@@richardmusgrave-evans -Oh and just In case this is your last video before the Holiday, I wanted to make sure I wished you a Merry Christmas and a Happy prosperous blessed New Year! ❤🌲🎆 Cheers to the best Aussie Artist!
Nice one Richard, I love seascapes and this one is a beaut. I have learned so much just watching you work out the set up and then just going for it. Thanks for another great lesson. See you next time.👨🎨🇦🇺🦘
Hi Richard. I love watching you paint, the way you put paint down and your mark making. This one you have just done above, reminds me of the South African coast where I lived and now the Northumberland UK. coast where I now live. Your paint gives me such joy all round. My style of painting is a completely style to yours. I hope you and your family have a good Christmas and New Year. Michael
Nice touch to include shots of the area, gives a feel for the context of the painting. I like the abstract shapes when zoomed in almost as much as the realistic effect when zoomed out. And I like the demystifying approach, helps me appreciate that it’s practice and a passion for painting that makes good marks on the canvas.
So far I think you've heard it all, but still, this is a wonderful creativity coming true. The different color values and shapes accentuate the salty smell of the ocean. Thanks for such a wonderful trip. Cheers!
You're a genius, sir! Absolutely brilliant painting! So beautiful!!! Masterpiece! It's stunning how you transformed that canvas from few basic lines into the final product. I enjoyed the footage as well! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! Greetings from the EU!
Your passion and love for the beauty of your homeland comes through each stunning painting! I love the video portions showing how clean and spectacular the natural environment of AUS is. I wish mankind would recognize how precious it is and safeguard it for eternity!
Hello Richard magnificent painting hey, we wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a good start into the new year as you continue to create magic for us with your great videos and lots of love from Andrea and Günter
Wow Richard, another beautiful painting. I particularly like your cliffs on the right in the foreground but the whole painting is a marvel. Bravo for your talent and thank you for sharing it with us. Have a great holiday season 🎄🎅😊🎅🎄
Thank you Richard for taking us to this beautiful seascape and sharing your process in your interpretation of it! I really like your use of phthalo blue and the warm summer haze and find it amazing how palpable the atmosphere feels, salty, serene and drama, all at the same time! The result is really stunning! You videos are so appreciated and your paintings have given me and my family such pleasure, we treasure them dearly! Best wishes for a wonderful Holiday season for you and your family!
Dear Richard! Happy, healthy and successful New Year 2025! Always brilliant to watch you, creating this marvellous paintings. I am so happy to have bought two of your studies. 👋Hi Richard, I love it, this is a nice region you have captured with wonderful and natural looking colors. Great depth, lovely sunny and realistic looking shadow areas, the changing shades of the sea - a painting that does credit to the master, as always. Thank you very much for brightening my day whenever you post a video throughout this year 🙂 I wish you and your family pleasant christmas holidays❤❤❤
G'day Richard, you have excelled yourself here with this stunning portrait of this coast line. Loving the effect of the shadows on the cliffs and once again so much depth. What more can I say, your skills and experience are noted and applauded mate. Such great learning in your videos and your generosity in sharing is very much appreciated. Cheers, Rich
Clearly you prefer painting plein air, but it is wonderful how your experience with plein air informs your studio work. I love how you went back to location to refresh your vision even though you obviously have plenty of video. Nothing replaces being there, does it? Stunning work once again. ❤
Wow! This is awesome! Also, that spot you painted looks so much like the California Central coast! If you ever make it to the U.S. you need to see the central coast of California, and do some open air paintings. You would love it! Tally-ho mate!
Hi Richard, I love your work! Hey, I’m wondering if you’d mind if I took screenshots from your videos to use as inspiration. I’ll give you credit. I don’t have mountains like yours where I live and would love to be able to play around with the light and shadows your mountains create.
Beautiful painting Richard! I had a question from before, you said you use marine grade plywood as your palette. Did you treat the wood with a coating?
