Painting hazy clouds - realistic cloud painting tutorial

Good afternoon, from your point of view, do you think that water-based oil is as covering as oil-based oil? or on the contrary it covers less

When I used the water mixable oil colour with water as a medium, the colours had a weird texture...meanwhile I use solely linseed oil to thin down the colours...and with that I do not see any difference to the traditional oil colours.
