Terry was created by a former Capcom Street Fighter developer who left for SNK to develop Fatal Fury, where Capcom finally added Terry as a DLC for SF6 after decades. It is pretty surreal when you think about it. Or should i say that it finally came full circle.

Honestly, better that way. He’s clearly making an effort to faithfully translate the engrish Terryisms we all know and love into an Eng dub. Best to use the cameo role for practice.
you got to know that Terry should be the lead character of SF2 according to Takashi Nishiyama's original concept before he left Capcom for the first time, he should have been a part of SF and Capcom just brought him back home now. (No offence to SNK, i played KOF for 30 years)
It's like they merged his KOF/FF/MOTW and even the anime OVA version all into one character (even the VA sounds like the OVA actor). Capcom understood the assignment and rising tackle'd to the challenge. 🤩
@intellectic9155 Terry was designed by one of the main SF character designers. There were rumors back in the day Terry was supposed to be a SF character but staff moved to SNK. If any guest character was a SF character, it's Terry Bogard. And like other commenters have pointed out everyone has been begging for this to happen since the 90's. Even after CvS and SvC people wanted Terry to be in a SF game.
Takashi Nishiyama, one of the lead creators of Street Fighter, left Capcom after that game and joined SNK where he came up with Fatal Fury, Art Of Fighting, King Of Fighters, etc. So in a way, Street Fighter and Fatal Fury are like brothers seperated at birth and Terry and Mai coming to SF6 is like those brothers being united at last (unless you count the CVS/SVC games). I just love the easter eggs like Terry coming out of the taxi and looking at the sign like in the intro to the first Fatal Fury, or his stage being the Pao Pao Cafe. You can tell the Street Fighter devs are huge fans, though I wouldn't be too surprised as characters like Dan Hibiki exist.
I haven't played SF6--so I don't know if they've done this already--but the first ten seconds before Terry shows up is a nod to the intro of SF2, when the fighter on the right knocks out the one on the left. Many easter eggs indeed.
Also, Takashi wanted Terry to be the protagonist of SF1, but Capcom wanted a Japanese (Ryu) instead. So Takashi shelved Terry to later be used in Fatal Fury.
@@Kyto1984 Technically not Terry, but a similar American street figher named Joe. That's why you see Joe in the intro of SF1, because he was originally going to be the main character until they decided on Ryu instead, still keeping the Joe intro anyway.
I love that terry’s personality really shines through! From the “down to one more” to his knocked down opponent, to the “yeah baby!” After the super geyser. He’s just so charismatic and fun loving

@@connectingthepieces4845That’s crazy. Man, it feels good seeing Capcom and SNK collab again with Terry and Mai being guests for Street Fighter 6. All the easter eggs just makes this trailer even better with all the respect and care shown for Terry!

This is some spectacular video editing on Capcom's part. And, of course, I agree with pretty much every comment in this section. Simply brilliant justice for Terry Bogard.
Terry's rising tackle is one of the coolest looking moves in fighting games. I always thought it was funny how he asks if you're okay before he blasts you.
We live in an era where an SNK icon can appear in a mainstream SF game, and Capcom's gameplay trailer for him is him beating up an SF icon. What a time to be alive!
Nice reference/call back, when it comes to the beginning of the video, where the black guy, gets knocked out by the white dude, is a call back to Street fighter two. I've also noticed, The knockout festival shirts, with the fatal fury font. That first 0:01, what's funny to see.
I was actually surprised that a lot of his moves are in the game. Terry usually carries a lot of his moves but not all of it, with some notables like Power charge and Power dunk mostly missing specially if Rising tackle and Burn knuckles are in the game. I am just glad to see that both Rising and Dunk are in, which combined with Crack shoot and Rising upper, gives Terry a TON of anti-air options, which potentially giving him control of the space all above his head area.
The way that Round Wave and Quick Burn were implemented as specific strength special moves of Power Wave and Burn Knuckle respectively, meaning there were only two different strength levels for the actual Power Wave and Burn Knuckle, reminiscent of the 4 button layout of Fatal Fury 2, was cool as hell.
Wow, you can actually see that Terry vs Ken may have their special intro as Ken throws his hat to him and Terry jumping into his jacket may be his standard intro. Good Job Capcom.
BRO! THIS IS SO AWESOME! I can't stop smiling man, Terry's gameplay is amazing! The opening scene is just like the Fatal Fury intro with the taxi, Terry has his entire moveset including a dodge as a reference to the mechanics of switching between stage plans He has the Garou Mark of The Wolves outfit which I love and his second intro is just like the one from Real Bout where he throws his jacket up in the air and jumps while putting it on in mid-air, the movement effect of Crack Shoot, Power Dunk, Power Wave, Power Geyser and even Buster Wolf are amazing! And this critical art is simply very creative, even the victory animation shows Terry's strength
The nostalgia on the intro alone... EXCELLENT. Damn near 800K views within 10 hours. This is something we wanted to see since the 90s. Excellent Trailer.

@@ledgy69 You can still switch Terry to Japanese if you want the Engrish.
@@Neoxon619 Needs to be mandatory tournament rule ;)
Most graphically impressive rendition of the Wolf yet....
Terry is in street fighter...
I still can't believe it....
I'm wondering if Andy came with to cheer him on/be in his "corner"; cuz there's gotta be a reason Mai's joining soon...
He's a special guest in so much fighting games now i wouldnt be suprise we see him in Tekken
you got to know that Terry should be the lead character of SF2 according to Takashi Nishiyama's original concept before he left Capcom for the first time, he should have been a part of SF and Capcom just brought him back home now. (No offence to SNK, i played KOF for 30 years)
@@Sephiroth144 Or maybe Andy kissing Mai good luck.
It's like they merged his KOF/FF/MOTW and even the anime OVA version all into one character (even the VA sounds like the OVA actor). Capcom understood the assignment and rising tackle'd to the challenge. 🤩
Beautifully put!
The VA is Michael Allen Schneider, who also voices him in City of the Wolves.
No they didn't. The "assignment" was to add characters for the SF series. Characters people that play SF actually want.
@@intellectic9155 everyone wanted terry. Like from SNK vs Capcom days.
When I was a kid, back in the Super NES era, something like this was thought to be impossible!
And I can’t even imagine how much better it can get
...But
Not long after that was CvS
@@mythosinfinite6736 for me it was forever after, on the Dreamcast.
Terry has fought Street Fighter characters for over 20 years blud
@@user-wb8iu1hl6iNot in the SNES era. At least, to my 8-year old knowledge.
They needa drop Terry’s OST bruh, that stage music got me moovin and groovin
SF always has great music.
This is the best love letter sent to an SNK character from an external company, ever. What a legendary intro to an icon. Can't wait.
Terry looks so sick af in SF6, thanks for also adding his Garou jacket.
Terry has been getting so much respect in SF6, even him in Smash was fun.
Brother from different Mothers... in this case different Dad developers lol
and joe and mary in the background
Props to his voice actor. Captured Terry's energy PERFECTLY.
I love how rugged Terry looks. And he's just enjoying life. I see Blue Mary sitting in the background of the stage, wish she was playable too.
Odds are good she’ll have a sidequest & maybe even appear as a sub-boss like Retsu.
Joe too, they should have had Andy standing next to Joe to reference KoF 94-98, from when their team mates used to cheer them on from the sidelines.
@@ChrisMS0815
It’s possible Andy will cameo on Mai’s stage.
@@austinreed7343 Makes sense, just thought his KoF team being there would be cool.
Blue Mary would be awesome!!! Always a fun character to play! 💕
Terry's stage being so crowded is such an SNK thing, I love it

CAPCOM honors a character of respect in all fighting games... Terry Bogard is a legend and in Street Fighter they treat him as such
Joe is just chilling in the background and showing support. 🤙
Thats a skin I guess
Joe for season 3 maybe??
Mary’s back there too
And Blue Mary
Blue Mary as well
„Are you OK?“ meanwhile he’s pummeling his opponents face in the meantime
"Alright! You down for one more?"
I love that terry’s personality really shines through! From the “down to one more” to his knocked down opponent, to the “yeah baby!” After the super geyser. He’s just so charismatic and fun loving
That was one hell of a trailer. Terry looks phenomenal in both his og and garou outfits, his moveset had me totally mesmerised and that soundtrack…..wow. Could listen to it all day. And the stage is popping with personality! So many characters in the background. Billy, Poison, Joe, Blue Mary. I haven’t had a smile like this on my face for a while. SNK and Capcom? You guys know how to make your customers happy. Great freaking job.
Dude that song is straight elevator music lol
@@connectingthepieces4845That’s crazy. It sounds like a synth oriental fusion with a modern hip hop twist that harkens back to the late 90s era of games like Chrono Trigger, KoF etc. I felt nostalgic hearing that. I mean you’re free to feel how you feel but calling it elevator music is wild in my opinion.
@@connectingthepieces4845 You must have been in some incredible elevators.
Is that Poison? I thought it was Roxy due to the orange hair color, but it could be the lighting.
Easily one of the cleanest outros for a character I've ever seen
Man, it feels good seeing Capcom and SNK collab again with Terry and Mai being guests for Street Fighter 6. Terry has a blend of everything from previous games with a Capcom twist that makes him such a great character. All the easter eggs just makes this trailer even better with all the respect and care shown for Terry!
Terry: “You down for one more?”
Ken: “Sure, I guess.”
Terry: “Are you okay?”
Luke: “NO! No I’m not okay.”
CAPGOD! That EX Power Wave is a Fatal Fury 1 reference. I'm So happy!
Well Observed!
1:52 - His EX-Power Wave looks exactly as it did in the first Fatal Fury. That's so cool.
Ngl I had my doubts at first but the way they executed Terry in this game looks incredible. His moves/animations/costumes are so well done and really feel like theyre done out of love for the character. And the references in these clips to sf2 and the pao pao cafe are fuckin amazing. Hats off to capcom for this one. I hope sf6 continues to get more hype as it goes on.
This is mint! loved the Fatal Fury and KOF games growing up, seeing Terry make another appearance in a Street Fighter game like SNK vs CAPCOM again really made my day. Also noticed Joe Higashi in the background watching the fight awesome stuff! =D
dude all the call backs in terry trailers are simply amazing , from realbout to og fatal fury 1 i love all the love he got
It honestly feels weird knowing that both Terry and Mai are in a Street Fighter game, It just feels weird, but I love it at the same time!
Honestly, he feels better than ever in Street Fighter 6! The future for more guest characters is definitely exciting!
@@JohnathanSuperMachine92Mcbride I never said that... It feels weird but at the same time I love it, who says that they can't be in a Street Fighter game? It took them years just to kind of figure out how to introduce guests in SF, And these two characters are perfect examples, so assuming that I think that they can't fit in is just downright wrong, you're looking for a problem here.

I grew up playing kof more than street fighter so seeing this makes me smile. Now the new kof needs some street fighter dlc.
What it needs is a damn cvs3
We live in an era where an SNK icon can appear in a mainstream SF game, and Capcom's gameplay trailer for him is him beating up an SF icon. What a time to be alive!
1:156 Guys weren't expecting us to notice the FATAL FURY OVA REFERENCE.
I like how, after knocking Ken down at the end of Round 1, he looks down and asks "you ready for one more?"
Imagine SNK vs Marvel
His win animation is so over the top with those explosions lmao
Nice reference/call back, when it comes to the beginning of the video, where the black guy, gets knocked out by the white dude, is a call back to Street fighter two. I've also noticed, The knockout festival shirts, with the fatal fury font. That first 0:01, what's funny to see.
0:14 The original Taxi Driver was *G-Mantle* , the Mask guy who used to be the *Neo Geo* mascot , guess he past the torch to terry in FF
Whites always knock them out 😂
And, Granted Someone found this out before me…

As a black guy, I can say, that is not a black guy, that is a black man.
That's unrealistic in today's age. White guys are built like spoiled milk these days.
They really just gave this man everything. I love it so much
I was actually surprised that a lot of his moves are in the game.
Can't believe the guy from Super Smash is finally in Tekken

The way that Round Wave and Quick Burn were implemented as specific strength special moves of Power Wave and Burn Knuckle respectively, meaning there were only two different strength levels for the actual Power Wave and Burn Knuckle, reminiscent of the 4 button layout of Fatal Fury 2, was cool as hell.
Yeah, I was wondering how they would adapt a 4 button charter to a 6 button game. But I gotta say they did a good job

The level of detail on that stage is astronomical. The way the food and drinks bounces off the table, every time someone gets knocked down. 🔥👏👏
