Should have subbed Murray in the back row especially. She clearly cannot pass that well and needs development there. So sacrifice her as a hitter to give more offensive options with a better pass
Yes, it was a wonderful year for Nebraska, and Texas did dominate the game. But keep in mind how Texas won. They picked on the weakest player on defense, Harper Murray, and kept serving to her and hitting the balls at her. She struggled the entire match. Rodriguez tried to cover for her, but that only created holes in the defense elsewhere. Texas used the same strategy against Wisconsin, directing their attack at Guctekin to the point that she was eventually removed from the game. Nebraska and Wisconsin both learned the same lesson: you can't compete for a national championship with a defensively weak player. Both teams will come back in 2024 with stronger rosters, more experienced players, and a chip on their shoulders.
So you're saying that using strategy to attack another team's weaknesses diminishes the merit of the winning team's performance? Wow. That changes everything....
While Texas targeted Murray a lot, she was not the only player that had a bad day in serve receive. Batenhorst, Beason, Rodriguez, and Choboy all got aced, and every Texas server got an ace. Even when Texas did not get an ace, their tough serves kept Nebraska from running their offense.
That’s the object of competition; capitalize on your opponents weakness. There’s a lot of hurt behind the huskers getting blown out for some reason. Cook said they learned from this game that Tampa does a great job hosting the final4 and finals, not defensive weakness.
Y’all act like Texas didn’t have their moment in 2019-2021 with attitudes. After loosing a championship and not playing the way you wanted of course emotions are gonna be high. Especially if they undergo OPEN HEART SURGERY! Asjia O'Neal did not beat Nebraska. The Texas Longhorns beat Nebraska and put on a serve & pass clinic in the process. The comments are aimed at their coach who seemed to disparage the winning performance of a very talented Texas team who got hot at the right time. Not really very sportsmanlike, and certainly not a good example for his players or the fans.
@@1man724 I agree to that 100%. Nebraska coach has shown disrespect to the Texas team, to the players and to its coach. You’re very right to describe coach cook’s statement to be unsportsmanlike and if I may add, very unbecoming of a gentleman, athlete and a role model of his team.
No wonder the popcorn is gross in Nebraska. The corn comes with wayyy too much salt. Always behind Texas.
HAHAHHAHA!
That was the least funny joke bruh
@@Justwatching22 BUT IT'S TRUE!! LMAO. Too salty!!
This team will be a force to be reckoned with the next 3-5 years!! GO BIG RED!! Hold your heads up ladies … I’m proud AF!!!
Disappointing, but a GREAT season!
@@garymorris1856 absolutely disappointing, but not in the team … just the loss. My heart hurts for those ladies just because they are so young and came so far, but I absolutely love volleyball but so really love this team!!
@@KeepinItRealAlways You have stated it very well, I agree with you completely.
Sure, because nobody else is going to get better just Nebraska
@@duanegiese No one is saying that, you dummy
Classy coach. Told it like it was. Texas took the Huskers out of their game and kept them off balance the entire night. same with Wisconsin as John Cook noted. Nebraska is young, talent and has a great program. They will be back with a vengence. Shame on the Husker fans apologizing for their teams play on several of these game videos. The Huskers had an amazing season and will be back represnting the Husker nation. Tampa held a great tournament too. Texas fan speaking here.
Agreed!
Far cry from being a classy coach
There was nothing classy about John Cook in this moment. The first thing Jerritt Elliott did was congratulate Nebraska on a great season. Coach Cook had nothing but excuses, bitterness, and insults. These young athletes showed 1000 times more maturity than their coach did. John Cook = CLASSLESS!
@@joand3792imagine if any of the athletes said one thing Cook said? Lmao they’d be called everything under the sun. Cook shouldn’t get a pass, he needs to carry respect with all teams, not just those like Wisconsin
@youthought1343 Exactly!! And he's 3x their age. He should not get a pass for this and certainly shouldn't be called "classy".
I love Harper. But the attitude….
id be mad to tho like imagine all the hard work and then people asking you question abt your play after a big loss i’d be pretty upset as well
@@leslievarela5569 Yeah, then don't play like crap!! LMAO! Own up to your mistakes! She needs media training because that SALT and ATTITUDE are seeping through.

Great season Huskers you just got Cooked by Texas, Lesson Learned , ago 2024
Throwing the horns down helped you out a lot I’m sure. 😢😢
Now I know how Florida felt after the 96 Fiesta Bowl.
Somebody get Harper Murray and becka some class
They need MEDIA TRAINING. SORE LOSER all over their faces.
Y'all, they're freshmen and have to do these interviews right after losing a huge match? Give them some grace?
@@Justwatching22 did you see Bergans interview?

This was a hard loss . The result would have felt the same had we lost in the fifth set! Thes e young girls with no senior but big goals will come back.
bekka at 9:12 "fuck yeah" 😂
Bekka... What a class act she is... NOT...Go and cry in your Froot Loops..
@@stephenthompson439 You a lame. Shutup goofy
Should have subbed Murray in the back row especially. She clearly cannot pass that well and needs development there. So sacrifice her as a hitter to give more offensive options with a better pass
Come on Nebraska have a little bit more class when losing!
Proud of you ladies!!! Keep your head up! GBR!!!
Anyone ever watch Nebraska co eds?
Go back and watch that game! Lexi shanked 4-5 balls herself or just stood there and let them pass her! The entire defense was picked apart
We also targeted the NPOTY and completely dismantled their offense as well! Cook watched that game and did nothing to adjust
Win or lose, America loves Nebraska volleyball!
Clearly your version of America consists of 3 area codes.
Salty. 😅🤘🤘🤘
Y’all act like Texas didn’t have their moment in 2019-2021 with attitudes. After loosing a championship and not playing the way you wanted of course emotions are gonna be high. Everyone is human , we all say things we shouldn’t y’all really need to take a chill pill fr. Again I’m not excusing the statements or actions done I’m just keeping it real. 18 and 24 are two different levels of maturity 😭
Holy shit! You guys got nothing better to do than comment on women’s college volleyball. Both teams playing great all season. Texas came out on top and played great! (Nebraska fan btw) cook wasn’t crying neither was Murray. Cook telling it as it is, and Murray’s competitive spirt shining like the star she’s going to be. Seriously guys calm down.
Had to come back here cus I saw part of the interview on tiktok, goodness coach was so damn salty it’s insane😂. He must have forgot that covid affected the players that got a 5/6 year and asjia had two heart surgery her freshman or sophomore year from what I remember and who cares if she got national experience, so did have of their team. And the transfer portal thing, did he forget where merrit came from first? Lol
Great season to all. Hook'em Horns.
Texas was the best team during the national championship weekend. Certainly they are an excellent team. But over the course of the entire season, Nebraska proved they were the best team in the nation.
Doesn't matter without a championship win!
Disappointing loss, but still an extraordinary group of young women. It was tough on us as spectartors, but can't imagine how tough it was for these fine women. I still bleed Husker red, and GBR!!!!
mind u asjia is almost 30 playing against teenagers lmfaooo
Asjia is 24 and a 2-time open heart surgery survivor-warrior. The average age of college student athletes is 18-22, and if they redshirt, they could be 23 or 24 by the time they graduate and move on. Especially if they undergo OPEN HEART SURGERY! Asjia O'Neal did not beat Nebraska. The Texas Longhorns beat Nebraska and put on a serve & pass clinic in the process. And now the Nebraska fan base is digging in the clearance bins for excuses. Nebraska had a great season. And then they lost. That's the headline. See ya next year 🤘🏾🐂😊
P.S. John Cook is far too old to be that childish at a press conference. He should be embarrassed for a very long time.

Iknew this was gonna happen they was hyping us up allyear u never wanna go into playoffs or a tournament with all the hype
Big 10 is overrated. That Nebraska coach is a sore loser. They are not winning any title soon.
He complimented Texas on their great play. Where in the hell are you getting your "sore loser" diarrhea/
Saying the truth is not called being sore loser .coach Cook is going to win championship buy building a program not buying
Big 10 isn’t overrated. It’s only going to get tougher with USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington being added next season.
Man, you are obsessed with Nebraska. Every video you are talking about them. Did a Husker volleyball player turn you down or something?
Big Ten team won in 2021 (Wisconsin) And there were FOUR big 10 teams in the tournament (Nebraska, Wisconsin, Purdue and Penn State if I recall correctly)
Texas needed 6-year players to win another championship
Only one 6 year player who redshirted one year and had to have surgery her sophomore year
they dont have any capability to handle intense situation
Very well said Coach Cook! SO PROUD OF THIS TEAM AND THESE GIRLS THIS YEAR!!!!!
I am so embarrassed for the Husker fans. Secondhand embarrassed because this is the National Championship Match. I cannot believe they let a random highschool Nebraska team through to this final round to literally embarrassed themselves on National television. This SHOULD NOT be a thing. NCAA, you need to do better than letting a random college team to the Championship match just for ratings, money, and sponsorships. What a disappointment for all the viewers hoping for an exciting close match. To all the non-volleyball fans tuning in for the first time, THIS IS NOT HOW A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH SHOULD BE. Please watch more volleyball because this is NOT IT. Pretend like this match NEVER HAPPENED.
what the hell are you talking about? the NCAA cant let a team go to the championship? it isnt like football where the committee only picks 4 teams, they hade to win in lots of rounds to get here, and even throughout the season they beat amazing teams like pitt, penn state, purdue, wisconsin, and Stanford?? like genuinely confused on what u are complaining about
You're an embarrassment. The way Nebraska has helped change the way people think of volleyball and women's sports this year...it's not about one game.
@@kamryflodin327 @zackd2852 is a complete idiot, pay no attention to him. This "random college team "went 33-2
